1. അതിന്നു ശൂഹ്യനായ ബില്ദാദ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Bildad, the Shuhite, answered and said,

2. നിങ്ങള് എത്രത്തോളം മൊഴികള്ക്കു കുടുക്കുവേക്കും? ബുദ്ധിവെപ്പിന് ; പിന്നെ നമുക്കു സംസാരിക്കാം.

2. How long [will it be ere] ye make an end of words? Understand, and afterwards we will speak.

3. ഞങ്ങളെ മൃഗങ്ങളായെണ്ണുന്നതും ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അശുദ്ധരായ്തോന്നുന്നതും എന്തു?

3. Why are we counted as beasts? Are we vile in your sight?

4. കോപത്തില് തന്നെത്താന് കടിച്ചുകീറുന്നവനേ, നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഭൂമി നിര്ജ്ജനമായിത്തീരേണമോ? പാറ അതിന്റെ സ്ഥലം വിട്ടുമാറേണമോ?

4. O thou that dost tear thy soul in thine anger; shall the earth be forsaken because of thee and shall the rocks be removed out of their place?

5. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വെളിച്ചം കെട്ടുപോകും; അവന്റെ അഗ്നിജ്വാല പ്രകാശിക്കയില്ല.

5. The light of the wicked shall certainly be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.

6. അവന്റെ കൂടാരത്തില് വെളിച്ചം ഇരുണ്ടുപോകും; അവന്റെ ദീപം കെട്ടുപോകും.

6. The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.

7. അവന് ചുറുക്കോടെ കാലടി വെക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം ഇടുങ്ങിപ്പോകും; അവന്റെ സ്വന്ത ആലോചന അവനെ തള്ളിയിടും.

7. The steps of his strength shall be cut down, and his own counsel shall cast him down.

8. അവന്റെ കാല് വലയില് കുടുങ്ങിപ്പോകും; അവന് കണിയിന് മീതെ നടക്കും.

8. For a net shall be cast at his feet, and he shall walk upon a network.

9. പാശം അവന്റെ കുതികാലിന്നു പിടിക്കും; അവന് കുടുക്കില് അകപ്പെടും.

9. The snare shall take [him] by the heel, [and] the robber shall prevail against him.

10. അവന്നു നിലത്തു കുരുകൂ മറെച്ചുവേക്കും; അവനെ പിടിപ്പാന് പാതയില് വല ഒളിച്ചു വേക്കും.

10. The cord is hidden in the ground and a trap for him in the way.

11. ചുറ്റിലും ഘോരത്വങ്ങള് അവനെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; അവന്റെ കാലുകളെ തുടര്ന്നു അവനെ വേട്ടയാടും.

11. Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and his own feet shall drive him away.

12. അവന്റെ അനര്ത്ഥം വിശന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; വിപത്തു അവന്റെ അരികെ ഒരുങ്ങി നിലക്കുന്നു.

12. His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction [shall be] ready at his side.

13. അതു അവന്റെ ദേഹാംഗങ്ങളെ തിന്നുകളയും; മരണത്തിന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല് അവന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളെ തിന്നുകളയും.

13. They shall devour the protection of his skin; the firstborn of death shall devour his members.

14. അവന് ആശ്രയിച്ച കൂടാരത്തില്നിന്നു അവന് വേര് പറിഞ്ഞുപോകും; ഘോരരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോകും.

14. His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and he shall be brought to the king of terrors.

15. അവന്നു ഒന്നുമാകാത്തവര് അവന്റെ കൂടാരത്തില് വസിക്കും; അവന്റെ നിവാസത്തിന്മേല് ഗന്ധകം പെയ്യും.

15. He shall dwell in his tent, as if it were not his; brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.

16. കീഴെ അവന്റെ വേര് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകും; മേലെ അവന്റെ കൊമ്പു വാടിപ്പോകും.

16. His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above his branch shall be cut off.

17. അവന്റെ ഔര്മ്മ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും; തെരുവീഥിയില് അവന്റെ പേര് ഇല്ലാതാകും.

17. His memory shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the streets.

18. അവനെ വെളിച്ചത്തുനിന്നു ഇരുട്ടിലേക്കു തള്ളിയിടും; ഭൂതലത്തില്നിന്നു അവനെ ഔടിച്ചുകളയും.

18. He shall be driven from the light into the darkness and chased out of the world.

19. സ്വജനത്തില് അവന്നു പുത്രനോ പൌത്രനോ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടം അന്യന്നുപോകും.

19. He shall have neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any to succeed him in his dwellings.

20. പശ്ചിമവാസികള് അവന്റെ ദിവസം കണ്ടു വിസ്മയിക്കും; പൂര്വ്വദിഗ്വാസികള്ക്കു നടുക്കംപിടിക്കും.

20. Those that come after [him] shall be dismayed at his day, as those that went before were overcome with fear.

21. നീതികെട്ടവന്റെ വാസസ്ഥലം ഇങ്ങനെയാകുന്നു. ദൈവത്തെ അറിയാത്തവന്റെ ഇടം ഇവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ.

21. Surely such [are] the dwellings of the wicked, and this [is] the place [of him that] does not know God.:
