1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Job answered:

2. എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേള്പ്പിന് ; അതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ആശ്വാസമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

2. Listen to what I say. Let this be your way of comforting me.

3. നില്പിന് , ഞാനും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു നിനക്കു പരിഹസിക്കാം.

3. Be patient while I speak. Then after I have finished speaking, you may make fun of me.

4. ഞാന് സങ്കടം പറയുന്നതു മനുഷ്യനോടോ? എന്റെ ക്ഷമ അറ്റുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

4. My complaint is not against people. There is a good reason why I am not patient.

5. എന്നെ നോക്കി ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുവിന് ; കൈകൊണ്ടു വായ്പൊത്തിക്കൊള്വിന് .

5. Look at me and be shocked. Put your hand over your mouth, and stare at me in shock!

6. ഔര്ക്കുംമ്പോള് ഞാന് ഞെട്ടിപ്പോകുന്നു; എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു വിറയല് പിടിക്കുന്നു.

6. When I think about what happened to me, I feel afraid and my body shakes!

7. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു വാര്ദ്ധക്യം പ്രാപിക്കയും അവര്ക്കും ബലം വര്ദ്ധിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?

7. Why do evil people live long lives? Why do they grow old and successful?

8. അവരുടെ സന്താനം അവരോടുകൂടെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിലും അവരുടെ വംശം അവര് കാണ്കെയും ഉറെച്ചു നിലക്കുന്നു.

8. They watch their children grow up and live to see their grandchildren.

9. അവരുടെ വീടുകള് ഭയം കൂടാതെ സുഖമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വടി അവരുടെമേല് വരുന്നതുമില്ല.

9. Their homes are safe and free from fear. God does not punish them.

10. അവരുടെ കാള ഇണചേരുന്നു, നിഷ്ഫലമാകുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ പശു കിടാവിടുന്നു കരു അഴിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

10. Their bulls never fail to mate. Their cows have healthy calves.

11. അവര് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തെപ്പോലെ പുറത്തയക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ പൈതങ്ങള് നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. They send their children out to play like lambs. Their children dance around.

12. അവര് തപ്പോടും കിന്നരത്തോടുംകൂടെ പാടുന്നു; കുഴലിന്റെ നാദത്തിങ്കല് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

12. They sing and dance to the sound of harps and flutes.

13. അവര് സുഖമായി നാള് കഴിക്കുന്നു; മാത്രകൊണ്ടു പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.

13. Evil people enjoy success during their lives and then go to the grave without suffering.

14. അവര് ദൈവത്തോടുഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോക; നിന്റെ വഴികളെ അറിവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല;

14. They say to God, 'Leave us alone! We don't care what you want us to do!'

15. ഞങ്ങള് സര്വ്വശക്തനെ സേവിപ്പാന് അവന് ആര്? അവനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചാല് എന്തു പ്രയോജനം എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

15. And they say, 'Who is God All-Powerful? We don't need to serve him! It will not help to pray to him!'

16. എന്നാല് അവരുടെ ഭാഗ്യം അവര്ക്കും കൈവശമല്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. Of course, evil people don't make their own success. I would never follow their advice.

17. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വിളകൂ കെട്ടുപോകുന്നതും അവര്ക്കും ആപത്തു വരുന്നതും ദൈവം കോപത്തില് കഷ്ടങ്ങളെ വിഭാഗിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നതും എത്ര പ്രാവശ്യം!

17. But how often does God blow out their light? How often does trouble come to them? How often does God get angry with them and punish them?

18. അവര് കാറ്റിന്നു മുമ്പില് താളടിപോലെയും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു പറപ്പിക്കുന്ന പതിര്പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.

18. Does God blow them away, like the wind blows straw or like strong winds blow the grain husks?

19. ദൈവം അവന്റെ അകൃത്യം അവന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കായി സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു; അവന് അതു അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു തന്നേ പകരം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ.

19. But you say, 'God is saving their punishment for their children.' No! Let God punish the evil people themselves so that they will know what they have done!

20. അവന്റെ സ്വന്ത കണ്ണു അവന്റെ നാശം കാണട്ടെ; അവന് തന്നേ സര്വ്വശക്തന്റെ ക്രോധം കുടിക്കട്ടെ;

20. Let them see their own punishment. Let them feel the anger of God All-Powerful.

21. അവന്റെ മാസങ്ങളുടെ സംഖ്യ അറ്റുപോയാല് തന്റെശേഷം തന്റെ ഭവനത്തോടു അവനെന്തു താല്പര്യം?

21. When their life is finished and they are dead, they will not care about the family they leave behind.

22. ആരെങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തിന്നു ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിക്കുമോ? അവന് ഉന്നതന്മാരെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

22. No one can teach God anything he doesn't already know. God judges even those in high places.

23. ഒരുത്തന് കേവലം സ്വൈരവും സ്വസ്ഥതയുമുള്ളവനായി തന്റെ പൂര്ണ്ണക്ഷേമത്തില് മരിക്കുന്നു.

23. One person dies after living a full and successful life, a life completely safe and comfortable,

24. അവന്റെ തൊട്ടികള് പാലുകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിലെ മജ്ജ അയഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

24. with a body that was well fed and bones that were still strong.

25. മറ്റൊരുത്തന് മനോവ്യസനത്തോടെ മരിക്കുന്നു; നന്മയൊന്നും അനുഭവിപ്പാന് ഇടവരുന്നതുമില്ല.

25. But another person dies after a hard life that has made them bitter, never having enjoyed anything good.

26. അവര് ഒരുപോലെ പൊടിയില് കിടക്കുന്നു; കൃമി അവരെ മൂടുന്നു.

26. In the end, both of these people will lie together in the dirt. The worms will cover them both.

27. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ നേരെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന ഉപായങ്ങളെയും അറിയുന്നു.

27. But I know what you are thinking, and I know you want to hurt me.

28. പ്രഭുവിന്റെ ഭവനം എവിടെ? ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് പാര്ത്ത കൂടാരം എവിടെ എന്നല്ലോ നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു?

28. You might say: 'Show me a good man's house. Now, show me where evil people live.'

29. വഴിപോക്കരോടു നിങ്ങള് ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ? അവരുടെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

29. 'Surely you have talked with travelers. Surely you will accept their stories.

30. അനര്ത്ഥദിവസത്തില് ദുഷ്ടന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു; ക്രോധദിവസത്തില് അവര്ക്കും വിടുതല് കിട്ടുന്നു.

30. Evil people are spared when disaster comes. They survive when God shows his anger.

31. അവന്റെ നടപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആര് അവന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കി പറയും? അവന് ചെയ്തതിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ആര് അവന്നു പകരം വീട്ടും?

31. No one criticizes them to their faces for how they lived. No one punishes them for the evil they have done.

32. എന്നാലും അവനെ ശ്മശാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; അവന് കല്ലറെക്കല് കാവല്നിലക്കുന്നു.

32. When they are carried to the grave, they will have someone to watch over the place they are buried.

33. താഴ്വരയിലെ കട്ട അവന്നു മധുരമായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ സകലമനുഷ്യരും ചെല്ലും; അവന്നു മുമ്പെ പോയവര്ക്കും എണ്ണമില്ല.

33. So even the soil in the valley will be pleasant for them, and thousands of people will join their funeral procession.

34. നിങ്ങള് വൃഥാ എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരങ്ങളില് കപടം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

34. 'So your empty words are no comfort to me. There is no truth at all in your answers!'
