1. എലീഹൂ പിന്നെയും പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And Elihu answered and said:

2. ജ്ഞാനികളേ, എന്റെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് ; വിദ്വാന്മാരേ, എനിക്കു ചെവിതരുവിന് .

2. O wise men, hear my words; and you who know, listen to me;

3. അണ്ണാകൂ ആഹാരത്തെ രുചിനോക്കുന്നു; ചെവിയോ വചനങ്ങളെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു;

3. for the ear tries words as the palate tastes food.

4. ന്യായമായുള്ളതു നമുക്കു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാം; നന്മയായുള്ളതു നമുക്കു തന്നേ ആലോചിച്ചറിയാം.

4. Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.

5. ഞാന് നീതിമാന് , ദൈവം എന്റെ ന്യായം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ ന്യായത്തിന്നെതിരെ ഞാന് ഭോഷകു പറയേണമോ?

5. For Job has said, I am righteous; also, God has taken away my right;

6. ലംഘനം ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ടും എന്റെ മുറിവു പൊറുക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

6. should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable, yet I am without rebellion.

7. ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ ഒരാളുണ്ടോ? അവന് പരിഹാസത്തെ വെള്ളംപോലെ കുടിക്കുന്നു;

7. What man is like Job, who drinks up derision like water;

8. അവന് ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരോടു കൂട്ടുകൂടുന്നു; ദുര്ജ്ജനങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു.

8. who goes in company with those who work iniquity, and walks with wicked men?

9. ദൈവത്തോടു രഞ്ജനയായിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യന്നു പ്രയോജനമില്ലെന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. For he has said, It is no benefit for a man when he is accepted with God.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു വിവേകികളേ, കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടതയോ സര്വ്വശക്തന് നീതികേടോ ഒരിക്കലും ചെയ്കയില്ല.

10. So, O man of heart, listen to me; far be it from God to do wickedness; and the Almighty, to do evilly.

11. അവന് മനുഷ്യന്നു അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു പകരം ചെയ്യും; ഔരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം കൊടുക്കും.

11. For He repays man's work to him; and according to a man's way, He causes him to find.

12. ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില്ല നിശ്ചയം; സര്വ്വശക്തന് ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളകയുമില്ല.

12. Yea, surely God will not do evilly, nor will the Almighty pervert justice.

13. ഭൂമിയെ അവങ്കല് ഭരമേല്പിച്ചതാര്? ഭൂമണ്ഡലമാകെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാര്?

13. Who has given the earth as in deposit with Him? Or who has laid the whole world?

14. അവന് തന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് മാത്രം ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചെങ്കില് തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെയും ശ്വാസത്തെയും മടക്കി എടുത്തെങ്കില്

14. If He sets His heart on him, if He gathers his Spirit and his breath to Himself,

15. സകലജഡവും ഒരുപോലെ കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും; മനുഷ്യന് പൊടിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചേരും.

15. all flesh shall perish together, and man shall return to dust.

16. നിനക്കു വിവേകമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഇതു കേട്ടുകൊള്ക; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ക;

16. But if you have understanding, hear this; listen to the sound of my words:

17. ന്യായത്തെ പകെക്കുന്നവന് ഭരിക്കുമോ? നീതിമാനും ബലവാനുമായവനെ നീ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുമോ?

17. Shall one who hates justice restrain it? Or will you condemn a righteous, mighty one;

18. രാജാവിനോടുനീ വഷളന് എന്നും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുനിങ്ങള് ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് എന്നും പറയുമോ?

18. who says to a king, O worthless one; to nobles, O evil one?

19. അവന് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ പക്ഷം എടുക്കുന്നില്ല; ദരിദ്രനെക്കാള് ധനവാനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവരെല്ലാവരും തൃക്കൈയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയല്ലോ.

19. How much less to Him who does not lift up the face of rulers, nor regard the rich before the poor; for all of them are the work of His hands.

20. പെട്ടെന്നു അര്ദ്ധരാത്രിയില് തന്നേ അവര് മരിക്കുന്നു; ജനം കുലുങ്ങി ഒഴിഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നു; കൈ തൊടാതെ ബലശാലികള് നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു.

20. In a moment they die, and a people are shaken at midnight; yea, they pass away, and the mighty will be taken without a hand.

21. അവന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴികളിന്മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നടപ്പു ഒക്കെയും അവന് കാണുന്നു.

21. For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees all his steps.

22. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാര്ക്കും ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ ഇരുട്ടുമില്ല അന്ധതമസ്സുമില്ല.

22. There is no darkness nor shadow of death, to hide there those who work iniquity.

23. മനുഷ്യന് ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന്നു ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് അവനില് അധികം ദൃഷ്ടിവെപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല.

23. For He does not still impose on man to go before God in judgment.

24. വിചാരണ ചെയ്യാതെ അവന് ബലശാലികളെ തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പകരം വേറെ ആളുകളെ നിയമിക്കുന്നു.

24. He will break mighty men in pieces without inquiry, and make others stand in their place.

25. അങ്ങനെ അവന് അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അറിയുന്നു; രാത്രിയില് അവരെ മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവര് തകര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു.

25. So He knows their works; and He overturns in the night, so that they are crushed.

26. കാണികള് കൂടുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു അവന് അവരെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

26. He strikes them for evil deeds in the place of the spectators,

27. അവര്, എളിയവരുടെ നിലവിളി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് എത്തുവാനും പീഡിതന്മാരുടെ നിലവിളി അവന് കേള്പ്പാനും തക്കവണ്ണം

27. for so they turned from following Him, and they did not consider all His ways so as

28. അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പിന്മാറിക്കളകയും അവന്റെ വഴികളെ ഗണ്യമാക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

28. to cause the cry of the poor to come to Him. For He hears the cry of the afflicted.

29. വഷളനായ മനുഷ്യന് വാഴാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ജനത്തെ കുടുക്കുവാന് ആരും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

29. And He gives rest; who then can condemn? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him? Even it may be against a nation and a man together,

30. അവന് സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കിയാല് ആര് കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും? ഒരു ജാതിക്കായാലും ഒരാള്ക്കായാലും അവന് മുഖം മറെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് ആര് അവനെ കാണും?

30. from the reigning of ungodly men, from being snares for the people.

31. ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ സഹിച്ചു; ഞാന് ഇനി കുറ്റം ചെയ്കയില്ല;

31. For has any said to God, I have taken away; I will not pervert?

32. ഞാന് കാണാത്തതു എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് അന്യായം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഇനി ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

32. Besides what I see, You teach me; if I have done iniquity, I will not do it again.

33. നീ മുഷിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പകരം ചെയ്യേണമോ? ഞാനല്ല, നീ തന്നേ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കേണ്ടതല്ലോ; ആകയാല് നീ അറിയുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

33. Must He repay you because you rejected it? For you must choose, and not I; therefore, speak what you know.

34. ഇയ്യോബ് അറിവില്ലാതെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കുകളിലും ജ്ഞാനമില്ല എന്നു വിവേകമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരും

34. Men of heart will say to me, and a wise man who hears me will say,

35. എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കുന്ന ഏതു ജ്ഞാനിയും എന്നോടു പറയും.

35. Job has spoken without knowledge, and his words are not with insight.

36. ഇയ്യോബ് ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ പ്രതിവാദിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവനെ ആദിയോടന്തം പരിശോധിച്ചാല് കൊള്ളാം.

36. Would that Job may be tried to the end, because his answers are like men of iniquity.

37. അവന് തന്റെ പാപത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചേര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവന് നമ്മുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ കൈ കൊട്ടുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി വാക്കു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

37. For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.
