1. ബാബേല് നദികളുടെ തീരത്തു ഞങ്ങള് ഇരുന്നു, സീയോനെ ഔര്ത്തപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങള് കരഞ്ഞു.

1. By the waters of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion.

3. For there our captors required of us songs, and our tormentors, mirth, saying, 'Sing us one of the songs of Zion!'

4. ഞങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ ഗീതം അന്യദേശത്തു പാടുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

5. യെരൂശലേമേ, നിന്നെ ഞാന് മറക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ വലങ്കൈ മറന്നു പോകട്ടെ.

5. If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand wither!

6. നിന്നെ ഞാന് ഔര്ക്കാതെ പോയാല്, യെരൂശലേമിനെ എന്റെ മുഖ്യസന്തോഷത്തെക്കാള് വിലമതിക്കാതെ പോയാല്, എന്റെ നാവു അണ്ണാക്കിനോടു പറ്റിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

6. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy!

7. ഇടിച്ചുകളവിന് , അടിസ്ഥാനംവരെ അതിനെ ഇടിച്ചുകളവിന് ! എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ ഏദോമ്യര്ക്കായി യഹോവേ, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നാള് ഔര്ക്കേണമേ.

7. Remember, O LORD, against the Edomites the day of Jerusalem, how they said, 'Rase it, rase it! Down to its foundations!'

8. നാശം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ബാബേല്പുത്രിയേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് . നിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പിടിച്ചു പാറമേല് അടിച്ചുകളയുന്നവന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് .
