1. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.

1. Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, who trains my hands for the battle [and] my fingers for the war:

2. എന്റെ പാറയാകുന്ന യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു എന്റെ കൈകളെയും പോരിന്നു എന്റെ വിരലുകളെയും അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

2. My mercy and my fortress; my high tower and my deliverer; my shield and [he] in whom I trust, who subdues my people under me.

3. എന്റെ ദയയും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും എന്റെ ഗോപുരവും എന്റെ രക്ഷകനും എന്റെ പരിചയും ഞാന് ശരണമാക്കിയവനും എന്റെ ജനത്തെ എനിക്കു കീഴാക്കിത്തരുന്നവനും അവന് തന്നേ.

3. LORD, what [is] man that thou knowest him? [or] the son of man, that thou esteemest him?

4. യഹോവേ, മനുഷ്യനെ നീ ഗണ്യമാക്കുവാന് അവന് എന്തു? മര്ത്യപുത്രനെ നീ വിചാരിപ്പാന് അവന് എന്തുമാത്രം?

4. Man is like unto vanity; his days [are] as a shadow that passes away.

5. മനുഷ്യന് ഒരു ശ്വാസത്തിന്നു തുല്യമത്രെ. അവന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം കടന്നുപോകുന്ന നിഴല്പോലെയാകുന്നു.

5. Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6. യഹോവേ, ആകാശം ചായിച്ചു ഇറങ്ങിവരേണമേ; പര്വ്വതങ്ങള് പുകയുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവയെ തൊടേണമേ.

6. Cast forth lightning and scatter them; shoot out thine arrows and destroy them.

7. മിന്നലിനെ അയച്ചു അവരെ ചിതറിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങള് എയ്തു അവരെ തോല്പിക്കേണമേ.

7. Send thine hand from above; redeem me and deliver me out of many waters, from the hand of the strange sons,

8. ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു തൃക്കൈ നീട്ടി എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ; പെരുവെള്ളത്തില്നിന്നും അന്യജാതിക്കാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ!

8. whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand [is] a right hand of falsehood.

9. അവരുടെ വായ് ഭോഷകു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വലങ്കൈ വ്യാജമുള്ള വലങ്കയ്യാകുന്നു.

9. I will sing a new song unto thee, O God; upon a psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings I will sing [praises] unto thee.

10. ദൈവമേ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു പുതിയോരു പാട്ടുപാടും; പത്തു കമ്പിയുള്ള വീണകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിനക്കു കീര്ത്തനം ചെയ്യും.

10. [Thou], he who gives salvation unto kings, who redeems David his servant from the evil sword.

11. നീ രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും ജയം നലകുകയും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനെ ദോഷകരമായ വാളിങ്കല്നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

11. Redeem me, and save me from the hand of strange sons, whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand [is] a right hand of falsehood:

12. അന്യജാതിക്കാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; അവരുടെ വായ് ഭോഷകു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വലങ്കൈ വ്യാജമുള്ള വലങ്കയ്യാകുന്നു.

12. That our sons [may be] as plants grown up in their youth; [that] our daughters [may be] as corner stones, polished [after] the similitude of a palace;

13. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് ബാല്യത്തില് തഴെച്ചു വളരുന്ന തൈകള്പോലെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാര് അരമനയുടെ മാതിരിയായി കൊത്തിയ മൂലത്തൂണുകള്പോലെയും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

13. [that] our garners [may be] full, affording all manner of store; [that] our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets;

14. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കളപ്പുരകള് വിവിധധാന്യം നലകുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കട്ടെ. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആടുകള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളില് ആയിരമായും പതിനായിരമായും പെറ്റുപെരുകട്ടെ.

14. [that] our oxen [may be] strong to labour; [that there be] no breaking in nor going out; that [there be] no shout [of alarm] in our streets.

15. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാളകള് ചുമടു ചുമക്കട്ടെ; മതില് തകര്ക്കുംന്നതും പടെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതും ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീഥികളില് നിലവിളിയും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

15. Blessed [is that] people, that is in such a case; [yea], blessed [is that] people, whose God [is] the LORD.:
