1. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.

1. Of David. I Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war;

2. എന്റെ പാറയാകുന്ന യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു എന്റെ കൈകളെയും പോരിന്നു എന്റെ വിരലുകളെയും അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

2. My safe guard and my fortress, my stronghold, my deliverer, My shield, in whom I trust, who subdues peoples under me.

3. എന്റെ ദയയും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും എന്റെ ഗോപുരവും എന്റെ രക്ഷകനും എന്റെ പരിചയും ഞാന് ശരണമാക്കിയവനും എന്റെ ജനത്തെ എനിക്കു കീഴാക്കിത്തരുന്നവനും അവന് തന്നേ.

3. LORD, what are mortals that you notice them; human beings, that you take thought of them?

4. യഹോവേ, മനുഷ്യനെ നീ ഗണ്യമാക്കുവാന് അവന് എന്തു? മര്ത്യപുത്രനെ നീ വിചാരിപ്പാന് അവന് എന്തുമാത്രം?

4. They are but a breath; their days are like a passing shadow.

5. മനുഷ്യന് ഒരു ശ്വാസത്തിന്നു തുല്യമത്രെ. അവന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം കടന്നുപോകുന്ന നിഴല്പോലെയാകുന്നു.

5. LORD, incline your heavens and come; touch the mountains and make them smoke.

6. യഹോവേ, ആകാശം ചായിച്ചു ഇറങ്ങിവരേണമേ; പര്വ്വതങ്ങള് പുകയുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവയെ തൊടേണമേ.

6. Flash forth lightning and scatter my foes; shoot your arrows and rout them.

7. മിന്നലിനെ അയച്ചു അവരെ ചിതറിക്കേണമേ; നിന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങള് എയ്തു അവരെ തോല്പിക്കേണമേ.

7. Reach out your hand from on high; deliver me from the many waters; rescue me from the hands of foreign foes.

8. ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു തൃക്കൈ നീട്ടി എന്നെ വിടുവിക്കേണമേ; പെരുവെള്ളത്തില്നിന്നും അന്യജാതിക്കാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ!

8. Their mouths speak untruth; their right hands are raised in lying oaths.

9. അവരുടെ വായ് ഭോഷകു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വലങ്കൈ വ്യാജമുള്ള വലങ്കയ്യാകുന്നു.

9. O God, a new song I will sing to you; on a ten-stringed lyre I will play for you.

10. ദൈവമേ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു പുതിയോരു പാട്ടുപാടും; പത്തു കമ്പിയുള്ള വീണകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിനക്കു കീര്ത്തനം ചെയ്യും.

11. നീ രാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും ജയം നലകുകയും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിനെ ദോഷകരമായ വാളിങ്കല്നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

11. deliver me; rescue me from the hands of foreign foes. Their mouths speak untruth; their right hands are raised in lying oaths.

12. അന്യജാതിക്കാരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; അവരുടെ വായ് ഭോഷകു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വലങ്കൈ വ്യാജമുള്ള വലങ്കയ്യാകുന്നു.

12. May our sons be like plants well nurtured from their youth, Our daughters, like carved columns, shapely as those of the temple.

13. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് ബാല്യത്തില് തഴെച്ചു വളരുന്ന തൈകള്പോലെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാര് അരമനയുടെ മാതിരിയായി കൊത്തിയ മൂലത്തൂണുകള്പോലെയും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

13. May our barns be full with every kind of store. May our sheep increase by thousands, by tens of thousands in our fields; may our oxen be well fattened.

14. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കളപ്പുരകള് വിവിധധാന്യം നലകുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കട്ടെ. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആടുകള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളില് ആയിരമായും പതിനായിരമായും പെറ്റുപെരുകട്ടെ.

14. May there be no breach in the walls, no exile, no outcry in our streets.

15. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാളകള് ചുമടു ചുമക്കട്ടെ; മതില് തകര്ക്കുംന്നതും പടെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതും ഞങ്ങളുടെ വീഥികളില് നിലവിളിയും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
