1. സ്ത്രീകളില് ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവള് തന്റെ വീടു പണിയുന്നു; ഭോഷത്വമുള്ളവളോ അതു സ്വന്തകൈകളാല് പൊളിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

1. Every wise woman builds her household, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

2. നേരായി നടക്കുന്നവന് യഹോവാഭക്തന് ; നടപ്പില് വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ അവനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

2. The one who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, but the one who is perverted in his ways despises him.

3. ഭോഷന്റെവായില് ഡംഭത്തിന്റെ വടിയുണ്ടു; ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ അധരങ്ങളോ അവരെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

3. In the speech of a fool is a rod for his back, but the words of the wise protect them.

4. കാളകള് ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു തൊഴുത്തു വെടിപ്പുള്ളതു; കാളയുടെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ വളരെ ആദായം ഉണ്ടു.

4. Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is clean, but an abundant harvest is produced by strong oxen.

5. വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷി ഭോഷകു പറകയില്ല; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷിയോ ഭോഷകു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

5. A truthful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.

6. പരിഹാസി ജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടും കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല; വിവേകമുള്ളവന്നോ പരിജ്ഞാനം എളുപ്പം.

6. The scorner seeks wisdom but finds none, but understanding is easy for a discerning person.

7. മൂഢന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു മാറിപ്പോക; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ള അധരങ്ങള് നീ അവനില് കാണുകയില്ല.

7. Leave the presence of a foolish person, or you will not understand wise counsel.

8. വഴി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതു വിവേകിയുടെ ജ്ഞാനം; ചതിക്കുന്നതോ ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വം.

8. The wisdom of the shrewd person is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deception.

9. ഭോഷന്മാരെ അകൃത്യയാഗം പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു. നേരുള്ളവര്ക്കോ തമ്മില് പ്രീതി ഉണ്ടു.

9. Fools mock at reparation, but among the upright there is favor.

10. ഹൃദയം സ്വന്തദുഃഖത്തെ അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തിലും അന്യന് ഇടപെടുന്നില്ല.

10. The heart knows its own bitterness, and with its joy no one else can share.

11. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വീടു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; നീതിമാന്റെ കൂടാരമോ തഴെക്കും.

11. The household of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

12. ചിലപ്പോള് ഒരു വഴി മനുഷ്യന്നു ചൊവ്വായി തോന്നും; അതിന്റെ അവസാനമോ മരണവഴികള് അത്രേ.

12. There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way that leads to death.

13. ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തന്നേയും ഹൃദയം ദുഃഖിച്ചിരിക്കാം; സന്തോഷത്തിന്റെ അവസാനം ദുഃഖമാകയുമാം.

13. Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief.

14. ഹൃദയത്തില് വിശ്വാസത്യാഗമുള്ളവന്നു തന്റെ നടപ്പില് മടുപ്പുവരും; നല്ല മനുഷ്യനോ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാല് തന്നേ തൃപ്തിവരും.

14. The backslider will be paid back from his own ways, but a good person will be rewarded for his.

15. അല്പബുദ്ധി ഏതു വാക്കും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധിയോ തന്റെ നടപ്പു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

15. A naive person believes everything, but the shrewd person discerns his steps.

16. ജ്ഞാനി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ദോഷം അകറ്റിനടക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷനോ ധിക്കാരംപൂണ്ടു നിര്ഭയനായി നടക്കുന്നു.

16. A wise person is cautious and turns from evil, but a fool throws off restraint and is overconfident.

17. മുന് കോപി ഭോഷത്വം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു. ദുരുപായി ദ്വേഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

17. A person who has a quick temper does foolish things, and a person with crafty schemes is hated.

18. അല്പബുദ്ധികള് ഭോഷത്വം അവകാശമാക്കിക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; സൂക്ഷ്മബുദ്ധികളോ പരിജ്ഞാനം അണിയുന്നു.

18. The naive inherit folly, but the shrewd are crowned with knowledge.

19. ദുര്ജ്ജനം സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലും ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ വാതില്ക്കലും വണങ്ങിനിലക്കുന്നു.

19. Those who are evil will bow before those who are good, and the wicked will bow at the gates of the righteous.

20. ദരിദ്രനെ കൂട്ടുകാരന് പോലും പകെക്കുന്നു; ധനവാന്നോ വളരെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് ഉണ്ടു.

20. A poor person is disliked even by his neighbors, but those who love the rich are many.

21. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവന് പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; എളിയവരോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

21. The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever is kind to the needy is blessed.

22. ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവര് ഉഴന്നുപോകുന്നില്ലയോ? നന്മ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കോ ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ലഭിക്കുന്നു.

22. Do not those who devise evil go astray? But those who plan good exhibit faithful covenant love.

23. എല്ലാ തൊഴിലുംകൊണ്ടു ലാഭം വരും; അധരചര്വ്വണംകൊണ്ടോ ഞെരുക്കമേ വരു.

23. In all hard work there is profit, but merely talking about it only brings poverty.

24. ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ ധനം അവര്ക്കും കിരീടം; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ ഭോഷത്വമോ ഭോഷത്വം തന്നെ.

24. The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools is folly.

25. സത്യസാക്ഷി പ്രാണരക്ഷ ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭോഷകു നിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവനോ വഞ്ചന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

25. A truthful witness rescues lives, but the one who breathes lies brings deception.

26. യഹോവാഭക്തന്നു ദൃഢധൈര്യം ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ മക്കള്ക്കും ശരണം ഉണ്ടാകും.

26. In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and it will be a refuge for his children.

27. യഹോവാഭക്തി ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു; അതിനാല് മരണത്തിന്റെ കണികളെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

27. The fear of the LORD is like a life-giving fountain, to turn people from deadly snares.

28. പ്രജാബാഹുല്യം രാജാവിന്നു ബഹുമാനം; പ്രജാന്യൂനതയോ പ്രഭുവിന്നു നാശം.

28. A king's glory is the abundance of people, but the lack of subjects is the ruin of a ruler.

29. ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവന് മഹാബുദ്ധിമാന് ; മുന് കോപിയോ ഭോഷത്വം ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു.

29. The one who is slow to anger has great understanding, but the one who has a quick temper exalts folly.

30. ശാന്തമനസ്സു ദേഹത്തിന്നു ജീവന് ; അസൂയയോ അസ്തികള്ക്കു ദ്രവത്വം.

30. A tranquil spirit revives the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.

31. എളിയവനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് അവന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രനോടു കൃപകാണിക്കുന്നവനോ അവനെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു.

31. The one who oppresses the poor insults his Creator, but whoever shows favor to the needy honors him.

32. ദുഷ്ടന്നു തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയാല് വീഴ്ച വരുന്നു; നീതിമാന്നോ മരണത്തിലും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.

32. The wicked will be thrown down in his trouble, but the righteous have refuge even in the threat of death.

33. വിവേകമുള്ളവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ജ്ഞാനം അടങ്ങിപ്പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; മൂഢന്മാരുടെ അന്തരംഗത്തില് ഉള്ളതോ വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു.

33. Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning; it is known even in the heart of fools.

34. നീതി ജാതിയെ ഉയര്ത്തുന്നു; പാപമോ വംശങ്ങള്ക്കു അപമാനം.

34. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

35. ബുദ്ധിമാനായ ദാസന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നു. നാണംകെട്ടവന്നോ അവന്റെ കോപം നേരിടും.

35. The king shows favor to a wise servant, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.
