1. അനവധിസമ്പത്തിലും സല്കീര്ത്തിയും വെള്ളിയിലും പൊന്നിലും കൃപയും നല്ലതു.

1. A good name is to be chosen aboue great riches, and louing fauour is aboue siluer and aboue golde.

2. ധനവാനും ദരിദ്രനും തമ്മില് കാണുന്നു; അവരെ ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവന് യഹോവ തന്നേ.

2. The rich and poore meete together: the Lord is the maker of them all.

3. വിവേകമുള്ളവന് അനര്ത്ഥം കണ്ടു ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അല്പബുദ്ധികളോ നേരെ ചെന്നു ചേതപ്പെടുന്നു.

3. A prudent man seeth the plague, and hideth himselfe: but the foolish goe on still, and are punished.

4. താഴ്മെക്കും യഹോവഭക്തിക്കും ഉള്ള പ്രതിഫലം ധനവും മാനവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു.

4. The rewarde of humilitie, and the feare of God is riches, and glory, and life.

5. വക്രന്റെ വഴിയില് മുള്ളും കുടുക്കും ഉണ്ടു; തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് അവയോടു അകന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ.

5. Thornes and snares are in the way of the frowarde: but he that regardeth his soule, will depart farre from them.

6. ബാലന് നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വഴിയില് അവനെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്ക; അവന് വൃദ്ധനായാലും അതു വിട്ടുമാറുകയില്ല.

6. Teache a childe in the trade of his way, and when he is olde, he shall not depart from it.

7. ധനവാന് ദരിദ്രന്മാരെ ഭരിക്കുന്നു; കടം മേടിക്കുന്നവന് കടം കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു ദാസന് .

7. The rich ruleth the poore, and the borower is seruant to the man that lendeth.

8. നീതികേടു വിതെക്കുന്നവന് ആപത്തു കൊയ്യും; അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ വടി ഇല്ലാതെയാകും.
2 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 9:7

8. He that soweth iniquitie, shall reape affliction, and the rodde of his anger shall faile.

9. ദയാകടാക്ഷമുള്ളവന് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും; അവന് തന്റെ ആഹാരത്തില്നിന്നു അഗതിക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

9. He that hath a good eye, he shalbe blessed: for he giueth of his bread vnto the poore.

10. പരിഹാസിയെ നീക്കിക്കളക; അപ്പോള് പിണക്കം പോയ്ക്കൊള്ളും; കലഹവും നിന്ദയും നിന്നുപോകും.

10. Cast out the scorner, and strife shall go out: so contention and reproche shall cease.

11. ഹൃദയശുദ്ധി ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവന്നു അധരലാവണ്യം ഉണ്ടു; രാജാവു അവന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന് .

11. Hee that loueth purenesse of heart for the grace of his lippes, the King shalbe his friend.

12. യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണു പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവനെ കാക്കുന്നു; ദ്രോഹികളുടെ വാക്കോ അവന് മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

12. The eyes of the Lord preserue knowledge: but hee ouerthroweth the wordes of the transgressour.

13. വെളിയില് സിംഹം ഉണ്ടു, വീഥിയില് എനിക്കു ജീവഹാനി വരും എന്നു മടിയന് പറയുന്നു.

13. The slouthfull man saith, A lyon is without, I shall be slaine in the streete.

14. പരസ്ത്രീയുടെ വായ് ആഴമുള്ള കുഴി ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയാല് ത്യജിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് അതില് വീഴും.

14. The mouth of strage women is as a deepe pit: he with whom the Lord is angry, shall fall therein.

15. ബാലന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തോടു ഭോഷത്വം പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ശിക്ഷെക്കുള്ള വടി അതിനെ അവനില് നിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളയും.

15. Foolishnesse is bounde in the heart of a childe: but the rodde of correction shall driue it away from him.

16. ആദായം ഉണ്ടാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എളിയവനെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനും ധനവാന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവനും മുട്ടുള്ളവനായ്തീരും.

16. Hee that oppresseth the poore to increase him selfe, and giueth vnto the riche, shall surely come to pouertie.

17. ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ ചെവിചായിച്ചു കേള്ക്കുക; എന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നു മനസ്സുവെക്കുക.

17. Incline thine eare, and heare the wordes of the wise, and apply thine heart vnto my knowledge.

18. അവയെ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളില് സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളില് അവ ഒക്കെയും ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും മനോഹരം.

18. For it shalbe pleasant, if thou keepe them in thy bellie, and if they be directed together in thy lippes.

19. നിന്റെ ആശ്രയം യഹോവയില് ആയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു, നിന്നോടു തന്നേ, ഉപദേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. That thy confidence may be in the Lord, I haue shewed thee this day: thou therefore take heede.

20. നിന്നെ അയച്ചവര്ക്കും നീ നേരുള്ള മറുപടി കൊണ്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിനക്കു നേരുള്ള മറുപടിയുടെ നിശ്ചയം അറിയിച്ചുതരുവാന്

20. Haue not I written vnto thee three times in counsels and knowledge,

21. ആലോചനയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും അടങ്ങിയ സാരസംഗതികളെ ഞാന് നിനക്കു എഴുതീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

21. That I might shewe thee the assurance of the wordes of trueth to answere the wordes of trueth to them that sende to thee?

22. എളിയവനോടു അവന് എളിയവനാകകൊണ്ടു കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യരുതു; അരിഷ്ടനെ പടിവാതില്ക്കല്വെച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിക്കയും അരുതു.

22. Robbe not the poore, because hee is poore, neither oppresse the afflicted in iudgement.

23. യഹോവ അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തും; അവരെ കൊള്ളയിട്ടവരുടെ ജീവനെ കൊള്ളയിടും.

23. For the Lord will defende their cause, and spoyle the soule of those that spoyle them.

24. കോപശീലനോടു സഖിത്വമരുതു; ക്രോധമുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ നടക്കയും അരുതു.

24. Make no friendship with an angrie man, neither goe with the furious man,

25. നീ അവന്റെ വഴികളെ പഠിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ പ്രാണന് കണിയില് അകപ്പെടുവാനും സംഗതി വരരുതു.

25. Least thou learne his wayes, and receiue destruction to thy soule.

26. നീ കയ്യടിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലും കടത്തിന്നു ജാമ്യം നിലക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലും ആയ്പോകരുതു.

26. Be not thou of them that touch the hand, nor among them that are suretie for debts.

27. വീട്ടുവാന് നിനക്കു വകയില്ലാതെ വന്നിട്ടു നിന്റെ കീഴില്നിന്നു നിന്റെ മെത്ത എടുത്തുകളവാന് ഇടവരുത്തുന്നതു എന്തിനു?

27. If thou hast nothing to paye, why causest thou that he should take thy bed from vnder thee?

28. നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന പണ്ടത്തെ അതിര് നീ മാറ്റരുതു.

28. Thou shalt not remooue the ancient bounds which thy fathers haue made.

29. പ്രവൃത്തിയില് സാമര്ത്ഥ്യമുള്ള പുരുഷനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവന് രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് നിലക്കും; നീചന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് അവന് നില്ക്കയില്ല.

29. Thou seest that a diligent man in his businesse standeth before Kings, and standeth not before the base sort.
