1. എന്റെ സഹോദരീ, എന്റെ കാന്തേ, ഞാന് എന്റെ തോട്ടത്തില് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് എന്റെ മൂറും സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും പെറുക്കി; ഞാന് എന്റെ തേന് കട്ട തേനോടുകൂടെ തിന്നും എന്റെ വീഞ്ഞു പാലോടുകൂടെ കുടിച്ചു ഇരിക്കുന്നു; സ്നേഹിതന്മാരേ തിന്നുവിന് ; പ്രിയരേ, കുടിച്ചു മത്തരാകുവിന് !

1. Come in to my garden o my sister, my spouse: I haue gathered my Myrre wt my spyce. I wil eate my hony and my hony cobe, I wil drynke my wyne & my mylk Eate o (ye frendes) drynke and be mery, o ye beloued.

2. ഞാന് ഉറങ്ങുന്നു എങ്കിലും എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഉണര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. വാതില്ക്കല് മുട്ടുന്ന എന്റെ പ്രിയന്റെ സ്വരംഎന്റെ സഹോദരീ, എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, എന്റെ പ്രാവേ, എന്റെ നിഷ്കളങ്കേ, തുറക്കുക; എന്റെ ശിരസ്സു മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടും കുറുനിരകള് രാത്രിയില് പെയ്യുന്ന തുള്ളികൊണ്ടും നനെഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. As I was a slepe, & my hert wakynge, I herde the voyce of my beloued, wha he knocked. Open to me (sayde he) o my sister, my loue, my doue, my derlinge: for my heade is full of dew, and ye lockes of my hayre are full of the night droppes.

3. എന്റെ അങ്കി ഞാന് ഊരിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു വീണ്ടും ധരിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ഞാന് കാലുകളെ കഴുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവയെ മലിനമാക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

3. I haue put off my cote, how ca I do it on agayne? I haue washed my fete, how shal I fyle them agayne?

4. എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ദ്വാരത്തില് കൂടി കൈ നീട്ടി; എന്റെ ഉള്ളം അവനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഉരുകിപ്പോയി.

4. But whan my loue put in his hande at the hole, my hert was moued towarde him:

5. എന്റെ പ്രിയന്നു തുറക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു; എന്റെ കൈ മൂറും, എന്റെ വിരല് മൂറിന് തൈലവും തഴുതുപിടികളിന്മേല് പൊഴിച്ചു.

5. so that I stode vp to open vnto my beloued. My hades dropped wt Myrre, & the Myrre ranne downe my fyngers vpon ye lock.

6. ഞാന് എന്റെ പ്രിയന്നു വേണ്ടി തുറന്നു എന്റെ പ്രിയനോ പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; അവന് സംസാരിച്ചപ്പോള് ഞാന് വിവശയായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു അവനെ കണ്ടില്ല; ഞാന് അവനെ വിളിച്ചു; അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

6. Neuerthelesse wha I had opened vnto my beloued, he was departed, and gone his waye. Now like as afore tyme whan he spake, my hert coude no longer refrayne: Euen so now I sought hi, but I coude not fynde him: I cried vpon him, neuerthelesse he gaue me no answere.

7. നഗരത്തില് ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന കാവല്ക്കാര് എന്നെ കണ്ടു; അവര് എന്നെ അടിച്ചു, മുറിവേല്പിച്ചു; മതില്കാവല്ക്കാര് എന്റെ മൂടുപടം എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

7. So the watchmen that wente aboute the cite, foude me, smote me, and wounded me: Yee they that kepte the walles, toke awaye my garmet fro me.

8. യെരൂശലേംപുത്രിമാരേ, നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ പ്രിയനെ കണ്ടെങ്കില് ഞാന് പ്രേമപരവശയായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു അറിയിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ആണയിടുന്നു.

8. I charge you therfore (o ye doughters of Ierusalem) yf ye fynde my beloued, that ye tell him, how that I am sick for loue.

9. സ്ത്രീകളില് അതി സുന്ദരിയായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ പ്രിയന്നു മറ്റു പ്രിയന്മാരെക്കാള് എന്തു വിശേഷതയുള്ളു? നീ ഇങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങളോടു ആണയിടേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ പ്രിയന്നു മറ്റു പ്രിയന്മാരെക്കാള് എന്തു വിശേഷതയുള്ളു.

9. Who is thy loue aboue other louers, O thou fayrest amonge wemen? Or, what can thy loue do, more then other louers, that thou chargest vs so straitly?

10. എന്റെ പ്രിയന് വെണ്മയും ചുവപ്പും ഉള്ളവന് , പതിനായിരംപേരില് അതിശ്രേഷ്ഠന് തന്നേ.

10. As for my loue, he is whyte and reade coloured, a synguler personne amonge many thousandes:

11. അവന്റെ ശിരസ്സു അതിവിശേഷമായ തങ്കം; അവന്റെ കുറുനിരകള് ചുരുണ്ടും കാക്കയെപ്പോലെ കറുത്തും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

11. his heade is the most fyne golde, the lockes of his hayre are bu?shed, browne as the euenynge:

12. അവന്റെ കണ്ണു നീര്ത്തോടുകളുടെ അരികത്തുള്ള പ്രാവുകള്ക്കു തുല്യം; അതു പാലുകൊണ്ടു കഴുകിയതും ചേര്ച്ചയായി പതിച്ചതും ആകും.

12. His eyes are as the eyes of doues by the water brokes, washen with mylck, and remaynynge in a plenteous place:

13. അവന്റെ കവിള് സുഗന്ധസസ്യങ്ങളുടെ തടവും നറുന്തൈകളുടെ വാരവും, അവന്റെ അധരം താമരപ്പൂവുംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതു മൂറിന് തൈലം പൊഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു;

13. His chekes are like a garden bedd, where in the Apotecaryes plate all maner of swete thinges: His lippes droppe as the floures of the most pryncipall Myrre,

14. അവന്റെ കൈകള് ഗോമേദകം പതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വര്ണ്ണനാളങ്ങള്; അവന്റെ ഉദരം നീലരത്നം പതിച്ച ദന്ത നിര്മ്മിതം.

14. his hades are full of golde rynges and precious stones. His body is as the pure yuery, decte ouer with Saphyres:

15. അവന്റെ തുട തങ്കച്ചുവട്ടില് നിര്ത്തിയ വെണ്കല്ത്തൂണ്; അവന്റെ രൂപം ലെബാനോനെപ്പോലെ ദേവദാരുപോലെ തന്നേ ഉല്കൃഷ്ടമാകുന്നു.

15. His legges are as the pilers of Marbell, sett vpon sokettes of golde: His face is as Libanus, and as the bewty of the Cedre trees:

16. അവന്റെ വായ് ഏറ്റവും മധുരമുള്ളതു; അവന് സര്വ്വാംഗസുന്ദരന് തന്നേ. യെരൂശലേംപുത്രിമാരേ, ഇവനത്രേ എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ; ഇവനത്രേ എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്.

16. His throte is swete, yee he is alltogether louely. Soch one is my loue (o ye doughters of Ierusalem) soch one is my loue.
