1. ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാവു യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരായ ഉസ്സീയാവു, യോഥാം, ആഹാസ്, യെഹിസ്കീയാവു എന്നിവരുടെ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദയെയും യെരൂശലേമിനെയും പറ്റി ദര്ശിച്ച ദര്ശനം.

1. The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, which he saw, concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah Jotham Ahaz Hezekiah kings of Judah.

2. ആകാശമേ, കേള്ക്ക; ഭൂമിയേ, ചെവിതരിക; യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് മക്കളെ പോറ്റി വളര്ത്തി; അവരോ എന്നോടു മത്സരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Hear O heavens, And give ear, O earth, for Yahweh, hath spoken: Sons, have I brought up, and advanced, And, they, have rebelled against me.

3. കാള തന്റെ ഉടയവനെയും കഴുത തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ പുല്തൊട്ടിയെയും അറിയുന്നു; യിസ്രായേലോ അറിയുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ ജനം ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

3. An ox knoweth, his owner, And an ass his masters crib, Israel, doth not know, My people doth not consider.

4. അയ്യോ പാപമുള്ള ജാതി! അകൃത്യഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്ന ജനം! ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ സന്തതി! വഷളായി നടക്കുന്ന മക്കള്! അവര് യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ നിരസിച്ചു പുറകോട്ടു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. Alas! a nation committing sin, a people burdened with iniquity, a seed practising wickedness, sons acting corruptly. They have forsaken Yahweh despised the Holy One of Israel, Are estranged and gone back.

5. ഇനി നിങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചിട്ടു എന്തു? നിങ്ങള് അധികം അധികം പിന്മാറുകേയുള്ളു; തല മുഴുവനും ദീനവും ഹൃദയം മുഴുവനും രോഗവും പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. Why should ye be smitten any more? Ye would again turn aside! The whole head is sick, And the whole heart faint:

6. അടിതൊട്ടു മുടിവരെ ഒരു സുഖവും ഇല്ല; മുറിവും ചതവും പഴുത്തവ്രണവും മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളു; അവയെ ഞെക്കി കഴുകീട്ടില്ല, വെച്ചുകെട്ടീട്ടില്ല, എണ്ണ പുരട്ടി ശമിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

6. From the sole of the foot even unto the head, there is in it no soundness, Bruise and stripe and newly-made wound, They have not been pressed out, nor bound up, nor soothed with oil.

7. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശം ശൂന്യമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങള് തീക്കിരയായി; നിങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ അന്യജാതിക്കാര് നിങ്ങളുടെ നാടു തിന്നുകളയുന്നു; അതു അന്യജാതിക്കാര് ഉന്മൂലനാശം ചെയ്തതു പോലെ ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Your country is a desolation, Your cities are consumed with fire, Your soil right before your eyes, foreigners are devouring it, And it is a desolation a very overthrow by foreigners;

8. സീയോന് പുത്രി, മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ കുടില് പോലെയും വെള്ളരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ മാടംപോലെയും നിരോധിച്ച പട്ടണംപോലെയും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

8. And left is the Daughter of Zion, Like a hut in a vineyard, Like a lodge in a gourd-plot Like a city besieged.

9. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നമുക്കു അത്യല്പമായോരു ശേഷിപ്പു വെച്ചിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് നാം സൊദോംപോലെ ആകുമായിരുന്നു; ഗൊമോറെക്കു സദൃശമാകുമായിരുന്നു.

9. If, Yahweh of hosts, had not left us a very small remnant, Like Sodom, had we become, Gomorrah, had we resembled.

10. സൊദോം അധിപതികളേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് ; ഗൊമോറജനമേ, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

10. Hear the word of Yahweh, ye rulers of Sodom, Give ear to the instruction of our God, ye people of Gomorrah:

11. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളുടെ ബാഹുല്യം എനിക്കു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; മുട്ടാടുകളെക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഹോമയാഗവും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളുടെ മേദസ്സുംകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു മതി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കാളകളുടെയോ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളുടെയോ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരുടെയോ രക്തം എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമല്ല.

11. Of what use to me, is your multitude of sacrifices: Saith Yahweh: I am sated with ascending-offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts, In the blood of bulls and young rams and he-goats, have I no pleasure.

12. നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് വരുമ്പോള് എന്റെ പ്രാകാരങ്ങളെ ചവിട്ടുവാന് ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിച്ചതു ആര്?

12. When ye enter to see my face, Who hath required this at your hand trampling my courts?

13. ഇനി നിങ്ങള് വ്യര്ത്ഥമായുള്ള കാഴ്ചകൊണ്ടുവരരുതു; ധൂപം എനിക്കു വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു; അമാവാസ്യയും ശബ്ബത്തും സഭായോഗം കൂടുന്നതും--നീതികേടും ഉത്സവയോഗവും എനിക്കു സഹിച്ചുകൂടാ.

13. Ye shall not again bring in an empty, present, Incense, an abomination, is that unto me! New moon, and sabbath calling an assembly I cannot endure, iniquity and sacred festival!

14. നിങ്ങളുടെ അമാവാസ്യകളെയും ഉത്സവങ്ങളെയും ഞാന് വെറുക്കുന്നു; അവ എനിക്കു അസഹ്യം; ഞാന് അവ സഹിച്ചു മുഷിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Your new moons and your appointed feasts, my soul, hateth, They have become unto me a burden I am too weary to bear:

15. നിങ്ങള് കൈമലര്ത്തുമ്പോള് ഞാന് എന്റെ കണ്ണു മറെച്ചുകളയും; നിങ്ങള് എത്ര തന്നേ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനകഴിച്ചാലും ഞാന് കേള്ക്കയില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈ രക്തം കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. Even when ye spread forth your open palms, I hide mine eyes from you; Yea, though ye multiply prayers, I am not hearkening, Your hands, with deeds of blood, are filled.

16. നിങ്ങളെ കഴുകി വെടിപ്പാക്കുവിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തെ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളവിന് ; തിന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതു മതിയാക്കുവിന് .

16. Wash you make you clean, Put away the wickedness of your doings from before mine eyes, Cease to do evil.

17. നന്മ ചെയ്വാന് പഠിപ്പിന് ; ന്യായം അന്വേഷിപ്പിന് ; പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനെ നേര്വ്വഴിക്കാക്കുവിന് ; അനാഥന്നു ന്യായം നടത്തിക്കൊടുപ്പിന് ; വിധവേക്കു വേണ്ടി വ്യവഹരിപ്പിന് .

17. Learn to do well Seek justice, Correct the oppressor, Vindicate the fatherless, Plead the cause of the widow,

18. വരുവിന് , നമുക്കു തമ്മില് വാദിക്കാം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങള് കുടുഞ്ചുവപ്പായിരുന്നാലും ഹിമംപോലെ വെളുക്കും; രക്താംബരംപോലെ ചുവപ്പായവിരുന്നാലും പഞ്ഞിപോലെ ആയിത്തീരും.

18. Come, I pray you, and let us settle the disputer Saith Yahweh, Though your sins be found like scarlet, As snow, shall they be made white, Though they appear red like crimson, As wool, shall they become.

19. നിങ്ങള് മനസ്സുവെച്ചു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് ദേശത്തിലെ നന്മ അനുഭവിക്കും.

19. If ye be willing and hearken Of the good of the land, shall ye eat;

20. മറുത്തു മത്സരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങള് വാളിന്നിരയായ്തീരും; യഹോവയുടെ വായ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. But, if ye refuse and rebel, With the sword, shall ye be devoured, For, the mouth of Yahweh, hath spoken it.

21. വിശ്വസ്തനഗരം വേശ്യയായി തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ! അതില് ന്യായം നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; നീതി വസിച്ചിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോഴോ, കുലപാതകന്മാര്.

21. How hath she become unchaste! The city that was Faithful, Full of justice, Righteousness lodged in her, But, now, murderers!

22. നിന്റെ വെള്ളി കീടമായും നിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞു വെള്ളം ചേര്ന്നും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

22. Thy silver, hath become dross, Thy wine, weakened with water;

23. നിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് മത്സരികള്; കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടാളികള് തന്നേ; അവര് ഒക്കെയും സമ്മാനപ്രിയരും പ്രതിഫലം കാംക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരും ആകുന്നു; അവര് അനാഥന്നു ന്യായം നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ല; വിധവയുടെ വ്യവഹാരം അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് വരുന്നതുമില്ല.

23. Thy rulers, are unruly, and companions of thieves, Every one of the people, loveth a bribe, and runneth after rewards, The fatherless, they do not vindicate, And, the plea of the widow, reacheth them not.

24. അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ വല്ലഭനായി സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഹാ, ഞാന് എന്റെ വൈരികളോടു പകവീട്ടി എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു പ്രതികാരം നടത്തും.

24. Therefore, Declareth the Lord Yahweh of hosts, The Mighty One of Israel, Alas! I must appease me on mine adversaries, I must avenge me on mine enemies

25. ഞാന് എന്റെ കൈ നിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു നിന്റെ കീടം തീരെ ഉരുക്കിക്കളകയും നിന്റെ വെള്ളീയം ഒക്കെയും നീക്കിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

25. That I may turn my hand against thee, And smelt away, as with potash, thy dross, And remove all thine alloy;

26. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ ആദിയിങ്കല് എന്നപോലെയും നിന്റെ ആലോചനക്കാരെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കല് എന്നപോലെയും ആക്കും; അതിന്റെശേഷം നീ നീതിപുരം എന്നും വിശ്വസ്തനഗരം എന്നും വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

26. That I may restore thy Judges as at the first, and thy Counsellors as at the beginning, After that, shalt thou he called Righteous citadel, Trusty city,

27. സീയോന് ന്യായത്താലും അതില് മനം തിരിയുന്നവര് നീതിയാലും വീണ്ടെടുക്കപ്പെടും.

27. Zion, with justice shall be redeemed, And her returning ones, with righteousness;

28. എന്നാല് അതിക്രമികള്ക്കും പാപികള്ക്കും ഒരുപോലെ നാശം ഭവിക്കും; യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവര് മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും.

28. And the downfall of transgressors and sinners, shall be, together, And, they who forsake Yahweh, shall be brought to an end;

29. നിങ്ങള് താല്പര്യം വെച്ചിരുന്ന കരുവേലകങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു നാണിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരുന്ന തോട്ടങ്ങള്നിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിക്കും.

29. For they shall turn pale on account of the oaks which ye desired, And ye shall blush on account of the gardens which ye had chosen;

30. നിങ്ങള് ഇല പൊഴിഞ്ഞ കരുവേലകംപോലെയും വെള്ളമില്ലാത്ത തോട്ടംപോലെയും ഇരിക്കും.

30. For ye shall be as an oak with its leaf faded, And as a garden that hath no, water;

31. ബലവാന് ചണനാരുപോലെയും അവന്റെ പണി തീപ്പൊരിപോലെയും ആകും; കെടുത്തുവാന് ആരുമില്ലാതെ രണ്ടും ഒരുമിച്ചു വെന്തുപോകും.

31. Then shall the strong one become tow, And his work a spark, And they shall both blaze together And there be none to quench the fire.
