1. ദരിദ്രന്മാരുടെ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളവാനും എന്റെ ജനത്തിലെ എളിയവരുടെ അവകാശം ഇല്ലാതാക്കുവാനും വിധവമാര് തങ്ങള്ക്കു കൊള്ളയായ്തീരുവാനും അനാഥന്മാരെ തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇരയാക്കുവാനും തക്കവണ്ണം

1. Woe [to] those decreeing decrees of iniquity, And writers who have prescribed perverseness.

2. നീതികെട്ട ചട്ടം നിയമിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും അനര്ത്ഥം എഴുതിവെക്കുന്ന എഴുത്തുകാര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

2. To turn aside from judgment the poor, And to take violently away the judgment Of the afflicted of My people, That widows may be their prey, That the fatherless they may spoil.

3. സന്ദര്ശനദിവസത്തിലും ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്ന വിനാശത്തിങ്കലും നിങ്ങള് എന്തു ചെയ്യും? സഹായത്തിന്നായിട്ടു നിങ്ങള് ആരുടെ അടുക്കല് ഔടിപ്പോകും? നിങ്ങളുടെ മഹത്വം നിങ്ങള് എവിടെ വെച്ചുകൊള്ളും?
1 പത്രൊസ് 2:12

3. And what do ye at a day of inspection? And at desolation? -- from afar it cometh. Near whom do ye flee for help? And where do ye leave your honour?

4. അവര് ബദ്ധന്മാരുടെ കീഴെ കുനികയും ഹതന്മാരുടെ കീഴെ വീഴുകയും ചെയ്കേയുള്ളു. ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

4. Without Me it hath bowed down In the place of a bound one, And in the place of the slain they fall. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.

5. എന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ കോലായ അശ്ശൂരിന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവരുടെ കയ്യിലെ വടി എന്റെ ക്രോധം ആകുന്നു.

5. Woe [to] Asshur, a rod of Mine anger, And a staff in their hand [is] Mine indignation.

6. ഞാന് അവനെ അശുദ്ധമായോരു ജാതിക്കു നേരെ അയക്കും; എന്റെ ക്രോധം വഹിക്കുന്ന ജനത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി ഞാന് അവന്നു കല്പന കൊടുക്കും; അവരെ കൊള്ളയിടുവാനും കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്വാനും തെരുവീഥിയിലെ ചെളിയെപ്പോലെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളവാനും തന്നേ.

6. Against a profane nation I send him, And concerning a people of My wrath I charge him, To spoil spoil, and to seize prey, And to make it a treading-place as the clay of out places.

7. അവനോ അങ്ങനെയല്ല നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതു; തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അങ്ങനെയല്ല വിചാരിക്കുന്നതു; നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും അനേകം ജാതികളെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളവാനുമത്രേ അവന്റെ താല്പര്യം.

7. And he -- he thinketh not so, And his heart reckoneth not so, For -- to destroy [is] in his heart, And to cut off nations not a few.

8. അവന് പറയുന്നതുഎന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ഒക്കെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരല്ലയോ?

8. For he saith, 'Are not my princes altogether kings?

9. കല്നോ കര്ക്കെമീശിനെപ്പോലെയല്ലയോ? ഹമാത്ത് അര്പ്പാദിനെപ്പോലെയല്ലയോ? ശമര്യ്യ ദമ്മേശെക്കിനെപ്പോലെയല്ലയോ?

9. Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath as Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus?

10. യെരൂശലേമിലും ശമര്യ്യയിലും ഉള്ളവയെക്കാള് വിശേഷമായ ബിംബങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളുടെ രാജ്യങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കൈ എത്തിപ്പിടിച്ചിരിക്കെ,

10. As my hand hath got to the kingdoms of a worthless thing, and their graven images, [Greater] than Jerusalem and than Samaria,

11. ഞാന് ശമര്യ്യയോടും അതിലെ മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളോടും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിനോടും അതിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്കയില്ലയോ?

11. Do I not -- as I have done to Samaria, And to her worthless things, So do to Jerusalem and to her grievous things?

12. അതുകൊണ്ടു കര്ത്താവു സീയോന് പര്വ്വതത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയൊക്കെയും തീര്ത്തശേഷം, ഞാന് അശ്ശൂര് രാജാവിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരത്തിന്റെ ഫലത്തെയും അവന്റെ ഉന്നതഭാവത്തിന്റെ മഹിമയെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

12. And it hath come to pass, When the Lord doth fulfil all His work In mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I see concerning the fruit of the greatness Of the heart of the king of Asshur. And concerning the glory of the height of his eyes.

13. എന്റെ കയ്യുടെ ശക്തികൊണ്ടും എന്റെ ജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടും ഞാന് ഇതു ചെയ്തു; ഞാന് ബുദ്ധിമാന് ; ഞാന് ജാതികളുടെ അതിരുകളെ മാറ്റുകയും അവരുടെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളെ കവര്ന്നുകളകയും പരാക്രമിയെപ്പോലെ സിംഹാസനസ്ഥന്മാരെ താഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. For he hath said, 'By the power of my hand I have wrought, And by my wisdom, for I have been intelligent, And I remove borders of the peoples, And their chief ones I have spoiled, And I put down as a mighty one the inhabitants,

14. എന്റെ കൈ ജാതികളുടെ ധനത്തെ ഒരു പക്ഷിക്കൂടിനെപ്പോലെ എത്തിപ്പടിച്ചു; ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ മുട്ടകളെ ശേഖരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ഞാന് സര്വ്വഭൂമിയെയും കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു; ചിറകു അനക്കുകയോ ചുണ്ടു തുറക്കുകയോ ചിലെക്കുകയോ ചെയ്വാന് ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. And my hand as to a nest Getteth to the wealth of the peoples, And as a gathering of forsaken eggs All the earth I -- I have gathered, And there hath not been one moving wing, Or opening mouth, or whispering.'

15. വെട്ടുന്നവനോടു കോടാലി വമ്പു പറയുമോ? വലിക്കുന്നവനോടു ഈര്ച്ചവാള് വലിപ്പം കാട്ടുമോ? അതോ, പിടിക്കുന്നവനെ വടി പൊക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും മരമല്ലാത്തവനെ കോല് പൊന്തിക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും ആകുന്നു.

15. -- Doth the axe glorify itself Against him who is hewing with it? Doth the saw magnify itself Against him who is shaking it? As a rod waving those lifting it up! As a staff lifting up that which is not wood!

16. അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു അവന്റെ പുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് ക്ഷയം അയക്കും; അവന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന് കീഴെ തീ കത്തുംപോലെ ഒന്നു കത്തും.

16. Therefore doth the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, Send among his fat ones leanness, And under his honour He kindleth a burning As the burning of a fire.

17. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ഒരു തീയായും അവന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധന് ഒരു ജ്വാലയായും ഇരിക്കും; അതു കത്തി, ഒരു ദിവസംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

17. And the light of Israel hath been for a fire, And his Holy One for a flame, And it hath burned, and devoured his thorn And his brier in one day.

18. അവന് അവന്റെ കാട്ടിന്റെയും തോട്ടത്തിന്റെയും മഹത്വത്തെ ദേഹിദേഹവുമായി നശിപ്പിക്കും; അതു ഒരു രോഗി ക്ഷയിച്ചു പോകുന്നതു പോലെയിരിക്കും.

18. And the honour of his forest, and his fruitful field, From soul even unto flesh He doth consume, And it hath been as the fainting of a standard-bearer.

19. അവന്റെ കാട്ടില് ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങള് ചുരുക്കം ആയിരിക്കും; ഒരു ബാലന്നു അവയെ എണ്ണി എഴുതാം.

19. And the rest of the trees of his forest [are] few, And a youth doth write them.

20. അന്നാളില് യിസ്രായേലില് ശേഷിച്ചവരും യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തിലെ രക്ഷിതഗണവും തങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചവനെ ഇനി ആശ്രയിക്കാതെ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനായ യഹോവയെ പരമാര്ത്ഥമായി ആശ്രയിക്കും.

20. And it hath come to pass, in that day, The remnant of Israel, And the escaped of the house of Jacob, Do not add any more to lean on its smiter, And have leant on Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel, in truth.

21. ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പു മടങ്ങിവരും (ശെയാര്-യാശൂബ്); യാക്കോബിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പു വീരനാം ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരും.

21. A remnant returneth -- a remnant of Jacob, Unto the Mighty God.

22. യിസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ ജനം കടല്ക്കരയിലെ മണല്പോലെ ആയിരുന്നാലും അതില് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പു മാത്രം മടങ്ങിവരും; നീതിയെ പ്രവഹിക്കുന്നതായോരു സംഹാരം നിര്ണ്ണയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
റോമർ 9:27-28

22. For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, A remnant doth return of it, A consumption determined, Overflowing [with] righteousness.

23. എങ്ങനെ എന്നാല് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു സര്വ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും മദ്ധ്യേ നിര്ണ്ണയിക്കപ്പെട്ട സംഹാരം വരുത്തും.
റോമർ 9:27-28

23. For a consumption that is determined, The Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Is making in the midst of all the land.

24. അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുസീയോനില് വസിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ജനമേ, അശ്ശൂര് വടികൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ അടിക്കയും മിസ്രയീമിലെ വിധത്തില് നിന്റെ നേരെ ചൂരല് ഔങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്താലും നീ അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ.

24. Therefore, thus said the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, 'Be not afraid, my people, inhabiting Zion, because of Asshur, With a rod he doth smite thee, And his staff lifteth up against thee, in the way of Egypt.

25. ഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു എന്റെ ക്രോധവും അവരുടെ സംഹാരത്തോടെ എന്റെ കോപവും തിര്ന്നു പോകും.

25. For yet a very little, And the indignation hath been completed, And Mine anger by their wearing out.

26. ഔറേബ് പാറെക്കരികെ വെച്ചുള്ള മിദ്യാന്റെ സംഹാരത്തില് എന്നപോലെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഒരു ചമ്മട്ടിയെ പൊക്കും; അവന് തന്റെ വടി സമുദ്രത്തിന്മേല് നീട്ടും; മിസ്രയീമില് ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അതിനെ ഔങ്ങും.

26. And awaking for him is Jehovah of Hosts, A scourge like the smiting of Midian at the rock Oreb, And his rod [is] over the sea, And he hath lifted it in the way of Egypt.

27. അന്നാളില് അവന്റെ ചുമടു നിന്റെ തോളില്നിന്നും അവന്റെ നുകം നിന്റെ കഴുത്തില് നിന്നും നീങ്ങിപ്പോകും; പുഷ്ടിനിമിത്തം നുകം തകര്ന്നുപോകും.

27. And it hath come to pass, in that day, Turned is his burden from off thy shoulder, And his yoke from off thy neck, And destroyed hath been the yoke, because of prosperity.

28. അവന് അയ്യാത്തില് എത്തി, മിഗ്രോനില്കൂടി കടന്നു; മിക്മാശില് തന്റെ പടക്കോപ്പു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

28. He hath come in against Aiath, He hath passed over into Migron, At Michmash he looketh after his vessels.

29. അവര് ചുരം കടന്നു; ഗേബയില് രാപാര്ത്തു; റാമാ നടുങ്ങുന്നു; ശൌലിന്റെ ഗിബെയാ ഔടിപ്പോയി.

29. They have gone over the passage, Geba they have made a lodging place, Trembled hath Rama, Gibeah of Saul fled.

30. ഗല്ലീംപുത്രീ, ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിക്ക; ലയേശേ, ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേള്ക്ക; അനാഥോത്തേ, ഉത്തരം പറക.

30. Cry aloud [with] thy voice, daughter of Gallim, Give attention, Laish! answer her, Anathoth.

31. മദ്മേനാ ഔട്ടം തുടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഗെബീംനിവാസികള് ഔട്ടത്തിന്നു വട്ടംകൂട്ടുന്നു.

31. Fled away hath Madmenah, The inhabitants of the high places have hardened themselves.

32. ഇന്നു അവന് നോബില് താമസിക്കും; യെരൂശലേംഗിരിയായ സീയോന് പുത്രിയുടെ പര്വ്വതത്തിന്റെ നേരെ അവന് കൈ കുലുക്കുന്നു.

32. Yet to-day in Nob to remain, Wave its hand doth the mount of the daughter of Zion, The hill of Jerusalem.

33. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു കൊമ്പുകളെ ഭയങ്കരമായി മുറിച്ചുകളയും; പൊക്കത്തില് വളര്ന്നവയെ അവന് വെട്ടിയിടുകയും ഉയര്ന്നവയെ താഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.

33. Lo, the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Is lopping a branch with violence, And the high of stature are cut down, And the lofty are become low,

34. അവന് വനത്തിലെ പള്ളക്കാടുകളെ ഇരിമ്പായുധംകൊണ്ടു വെട്ടിക്കളയും; ലെബാനോനും ബലവാന്റെ കയ്യാല് വീണുപോകും.

34. And He hath gone round the thickets of the forest with iron, And Lebanon by a mighty one falleth!
