1. ഒരു രാജാവു നീതിയോടെ വാഴും; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ന്യായത്തോടെ അധികാരം നടത്തും.

1. Behold, [one] king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall preside unto judgment.

2. ഔരോരുത്തന് കാറ്റിന്നു ഒരു മറവും പിശറിന്നു ഒരു സങ്കേതവും ആയി വരണ്ട നിലത്തു നീര്ത്തോടുകള്പോലെയും ക്ഷീണമുള്ള ദേശത്തു ഒരു വമ്പാറയുടെ തണല്പോലെയും ഇരിക്കും.

2. And that Man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry [place], as the shadow of a great rock in a hot land.

3. കാണുന്നവരുടെ കണ്ണു ഇനി മങ്ങുകയില്ല; കേള്ക്കുന്നവരുടെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിക്കും.

3. And the eyes of those that see shall not be dim, and the ears of those that hear shall hearken.

4. അവിവേകികളുടെ ഹൃദയം പരിജ്ഞാനം ഗ്രഹിക്കും; വിക്കന്മാരുടെ നാവു തടവില്ലാതെ വ്യക്തമായി സംസാരിക്കും.

4. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

5. ഭോഷനെ ഇനി ഉത്തമന് എന്നു വിളിക്കയില്ല; ആഭാസനെ മഹാത്മാവെന്നു പറകയുമില്ല.

5. The vile person shall no longer be called liberal, nor the greedy said [to be] bountiful.

6. ഭോഷന് ഭോഷത്വം സംസാരിക്കും; വഷളത്വം ചെയ്തും യഹോവേക്കു വിരോധമായി അബദ്ധം സംസാരിച്ചും വിശപ്പുള്ളവരെ പട്ടിണിയിട്ടും ദാഹമുള്ളവര്ക്കും പാനം മുടക്കിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കും.

6. For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will invent iniquity to work unrighteousness and to speak scornfully against the LORD, leaving the soul of the hungry empty and taking away the drink of the thirsty.

7. ആഭാസന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളും ദോഷമുള്ളവ; ദരിദ്രന് ന്യായമായി സംസാരിച്ചാലും എളിയവരെ വ്യാജവാക്കുകൊണ്ടു നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് അവന് ദുരുപായങ്ങളെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു.

7. Certainly the greedy [use] evil measures: he devises wicked devices to ensnare the simple with lying words and to speak in judgment [against] the poor.

8. ഉത്തമനോ ഉത്തമകാര്യങ്ങളെ ചിന്തിക്കന്നു; ഉത്തമകാര്യങ്ങളില് അവന് ഉറ്റുനിലക്കുന്നു.

8. But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things shall he rise.

9. സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്പ്പിന് ; ചിന്തയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, എന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിന് .

9. Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

10. ചിന്തയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, ഒരാണ്ടും കുറെ നാളും കഴിയുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് നടുങ്ങിപ്പോകും; മുന്തിരിക്കൊയ്ത്തു നഷ്ടമാകും; ഫലശേഖരം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല.

10. Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, and the harvest shall not come in.

11. സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളേ, വിറെപ്പിന് ; ചിന്തിയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, നടുങ്ങുവിന് ; വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞു നഗ്നമാരാകുവിന് ; അരയില് രട്ടു കെട്ടുവിന് .

11. Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make yourselves bare, and gird [sackcloth] upon [your] loins.

12. മനോഹരമായ വയലുകളേയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയേയും ഔര്ത്തു അവര് മാറത്തു അടിക്കും.

12. Upon their breasts they shall lament for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തു ഉല്ലസിതനഗരത്തിലെ സകലസന്തോഷഭവനങ്ങളിലും മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും മുളെക്കും.

13. Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns [and] briers; even upon all the houses of joy [in] the joyous city:

14. അരമന ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; ജനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള നഗരം നിര്ജ്ജനമായിത്തീരും; കുന്നും കാവല്മാളികയും സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ഗുഹകളായി ഭവിക്കും; അവ കാട്ടുകഴുതകളുടെ സന്തോഷസ്ഥാനവും ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങളുടെ മേച്ചല്പുറവും ആയിരിക്കും.

14. Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the noise of the city shall cease; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

15. ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ആത്മാവിനെ നമ്മുടെമേല് പകരുവോളം തന്നേ; അപ്പോള് മരുഭൂമി ഉദ്യാനമായിത്തീരും; ഉദ്യാനം വനമായി എണ്ണപ്പെടും.

15. until the spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness is turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted for a forest.

16. അന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് ന്യായം വസിക്കും; ഉദ്യാനത്തില് നീതി പാര്ക്കും.

16. Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness shall remain in the fruitful field.

17. നീതിയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി സമാധാനവും നീതിയുടെ ഫലം ശാശ്വതവിശ്രാമവും നിര്ഭയതയും ആയിരിക്കും.

17. And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness rest and security for ever.

18. എന്റെ ജനം സമാധാനനിവാസത്തിലും നിര്ഭയവസതികളിലും സ്വൈരമുള്ള വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും പാര്ക്കും.

18. And my people shall dwell in a habitation of peace and in secure dwellings and in the refreshing of rest.

19. എന്നാല് വനത്തിന്റെ വീഴ്ചെക്കു കന്മഴ പെയ്കയും നഗരം അശേഷം നിലംപരിചാകയും ചെയ്യും.

19. And the hail, when it shall come down, [shall be] in the forest; and the city shall be completely laid low.

20. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികത്തെല്ലാം വിതെക്കയും കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും അഴിച്ചുവിടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭാഗ്യം!

20. Blessed [are] ye that sow upon all waters, ye that plow with the ox and with the ass.:
