1. ഒരു രാജാവു നീതിയോടെ വാഴും; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ന്യായത്തോടെ അധികാരം നടത്തും.

1. Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and rulers shall rule in judgment.

2. ഔരോരുത്തന് കാറ്റിന്നു ഒരു മറവും പിശറിന്നു ഒരു സങ്കേതവും ആയി വരണ്ട നിലത്തു നീര്ത്തോടുകള്പോലെയും ക്ഷീണമുള്ള ദേശത്തു ഒരു വമ്പാറയുടെ തണല്പോലെയും ഇരിക്കും.

2. And a man shall be as a hiding place from the wind, and a shelter from the tempest, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

3. കാണുന്നവരുടെ കണ്ണു ഇനി മങ്ങുകയില്ല; കേള്ക്കുന്നവരുടെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിക്കും.

3. And the eyes of those who see shall not be dim, and the ears of those who hear shall listen.

4. അവിവേകികളുടെ ഹൃദയം പരിജ്ഞാനം ഗ്രഹിക്കും; വിക്കന്മാരുടെ നാവു തടവില്ലാതെ വ്യക്തമായി സംസാരിക്കും.

4. And the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of those who stutter shall be ready to speak plainly.

5. ഭോഷനെ ഇനി ഉത്തമന് എന്നു വിളിക്കയില്ല; ആഭാസനെ മഹാത്മാവെന്നു പറകയുമില്ല.

5. The fool shall no more be called noble, nor the miser said to be bountiful.

6. ഭോഷന് ഭോഷത്വം സംസാരിക്കും; വഷളത്വം ചെയ്തും യഹോവേക്കു വിരോധമായി അബദ്ധം സംസാരിച്ചും വിശപ്പുള്ളവരെ പട്ടിണിയിട്ടും ദാഹമുള്ളവര്ക്കും പാനം മുടക്കിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കും.

6. For the fool will speak folly, and his heart work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy and to speak error against Jehovah, to make the soul of the hungry empty, and he will take away the drink of the thirsty.

7. ആഭാസന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളും ദോഷമുള്ളവ; ദരിദ്രന് ന്യായമായി സംസാരിച്ചാലും എളിയവരെ വ്യാജവാക്കുകൊണ്ടു നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് അവന് ദുരുപായങ്ങളെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു.

7. Also the weapons of the fool are evil; he thinks of wicked ways to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.

8. ഉത്തമനോ ഉത്തമകാര്യങ്ങളെ ചിന്തിക്കന്നു; ഉത്തമകാര്യങ്ങളില് അവന് ഉറ്റുനിലക്കുന്നു.

8. But the noble thinks noble things; and by noble things he shall stand.

9. സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്പ്പിന് ; ചിന്തയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, എന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിന് .

9. Rise up, women who are at ease; hear my voice, careless daughters; listen to my speech.

10. ചിന്തയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, ഒരാണ്ടും കുറെ നാളും കഴിയുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് നടുങ്ങിപ്പോകും; മുന്തിരിക്കൊയ്ത്തു നഷ്ടമാകും; ഫലശേഖരം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല.

10. Many days and years you shall be troubled, careless women; for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

11. സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളേ, വിറെപ്പിന് ; ചിന്തിയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, നടുങ്ങുവിന് ; വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞു നഗ്നമാരാകുവിന് ; അരയില് രട്ടു കെട്ടുവിന് .

11. Tremble, women at ease; be troubled, careless ones; strip yourselves and make yourselves bare, and bind sackcloth on your loins.

12. മനോഹരമായ വയലുകളേയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയേയും ഔര്ത്തു അവര് മാറത്തു അടിക്കും.

12. They shall mourn for the breasts, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തു ഉല്ലസിതനഗരത്തിലെ സകലസന്തോഷഭവനങ്ങളിലും മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും മുളെക്കും.

13. On the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city;

14. അരമന ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; ജനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള നഗരം നിര്ജ്ജനമായിത്തീരും; കുന്നും കാവല്മാളികയും സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ഗുഹകളായി ഭവിക്കും; അവ കാട്ടുകഴുതകളുടെ സന്തോഷസ്ഥാനവും ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങളുടെ മേച്ചല്പുറവും ആയിരിക്കും.

14. because the palace shall be deserted, the multitude of the city shall be forsaken; instead the mound and tower shall be for dens forever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks

15. ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ആത്മാവിനെ നമ്മുടെമേല് പകരുവോളം തന്നേ; അപ്പോള് മരുഭൂമി ഉദ്യാനമായിത്തീരും; ഉദ്യാനം വനമായി എണ്ണപ്പെടും.

15. until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is thought to be a forest.

16. അന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് ന്യായം വസിക്കും; ഉദ്യാനത്തില് നീതി പാര്ക്കും.

16. Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

17. നീതിയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി സമാധാനവും നീതിയുടെ ഫലം ശാശ്വതവിശ്രാമവും നിര്ഭയതയും ആയിരിക്കും.

17. And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the service of righteousness shall be quietness and hope forever.

18. എന്റെ ജനം സമാധാനനിവാസത്തിലും നിര്ഭയവസതികളിലും സ്വൈരമുള്ള വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും പാര്ക്കും.

18. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable home, and in secure dwellings and quiet resting places.

19. എന്നാല് വനത്തിന്റെ വീഴ്ചെക്കു കന്മഴ പെയ്കയും നഗരം അശേഷം നിലംപരിചാകയും ചെയ്യും.

19. Though it hails, when the forest is felled, and the city laid low.

20. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികത്തെല്ലാം വിതെക്കയും കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും അഴിച്ചുവിടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭാഗ്യം!

20. Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, who send out the feet of the ox and the ass.
