1. യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും കല്ദയദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും കല്പിച്ച അരുളപ്പാടു

1. Of the children of Ammon. Thus saith the LORD: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in the cities thereof?

2. ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുവിന് ; കൊടി ഉയര്ത്തുവിന് ; മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ ഘോഷിപ്പിന് ; ബാബേല് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ബേല് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയി, മേരോദാക് തകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങള് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയി, അതിലെ ബിംബങ്ങള് തകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറവിന് .

2. Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel possess them that did possess him, saith the LORD.

3. വടക്കുനിന്നു ഒരു ജാതി അതിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു; അതു ആ ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്നു; അതില് ആരും വസിക്കുന്നില്ല; മനുഷ്യരും മൃഗങ്ങളും ഔടിപ്പോയ്ക്കളയുന്നു.

3. Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled; cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth: lament, and run to and fro among the fences; for Malcam shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

4. ആ നാളുകളില്, ആ കാലത്തു, യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും യെഹൂദാമക്കളും ഒരുമിച്ചു കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു വന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4. Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, {cf15i saying}, Who shall come unto me?

5. അവര് സീയോനിലേക്കു മുഖം തിരിച്ചു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് ; മറന്നുപോകാത്തതായ ഒരു ശാശ്വത നിയമത്താല് നമുക്കു യഹോവയോടു ചേര്ന്നുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറയും.

5. Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, from all that are round about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth, and there shall be none to gather up him that wandereth.

6. എന്റെ ജനം കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകള് ആയീത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഇടയന്മാര് അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചു മലകളില് ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് മലയില്നിന്നു കുന്നിന്മേല് പോയി തങ്ങളുടെ കിടപ്പിടം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

6. But afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

7. അവരെ കാണുന്നവരൊക്കെയും അവരെ തിന്നുകളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വൈരികള്നാം കുറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; അവര് നീതിനിവാസമായ യഹോവയോടു, അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയായ യഹോവയോടു തന്നേ, പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. Of Edom. Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

8. ബാബേലില്നിന്നു ഔടി കല്ദയദേശം വിട്ടു പോകുവിന് ; ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു മുമ്പായി നടക്കുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിപ്പിന് .

8. Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I shall visit him.

9. ഞാന് ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ വടക്കെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മഹാജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തെ ഉണര്ത്തി വരുത്തും; അവര് അതിന്റെ നേരെ അണി നിരത്തും; അവിടെവെച്ചു അതു പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; അവരുടെ അമ്പുകള് വെറുതെ മടങ്ങാതെ സമര്ത്ഥവീരന്റെ അമ്പുകള് പോലെ ഇരിക്കും.

9. If grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, would they not destroy till they had enough?

10. കല്ദയദേശം കൊള്ളയിട്ടുപോകും; അതിനെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവര്ക്കും ഏവര്ക്കും തൃപ്തിവരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

11. എന്റെ അവകാശം കൊള്ളയിട്ടവരേ, നിങ്ങള് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു, നിങ്ങള് ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു, ധാന്യം മെതിക്കുന്ന പശുക്കിടാവിനെപ്പോലെ തുള്ളിക്കളിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു, ബലമുള്ള കുതിരയെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള് ചിറാലിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

11. Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

12. നിങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മ ഏറ്റവും ലജ്ജിക്കും നിങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിച്ചവള് നാണിച്ചുപോകും; അവള് ജാതികളില് അന്ത്യജാതിയും മരുഭൂമിയും വരണ്ട നിലവും ശൂന്യദേശവും ആകും.

12. For thus saith the LORD: Behold, they to whom it pertained not to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink.

13. യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം ഹേതുവായി അതു നിവാസികള് ഇല്ലാതെ അശേഷം ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും; ബാബേലിന്നരികത്തു കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവരും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്റെ സകല ബാധകളും നിമിത്തം ചൂളുകുത്തും.

13. For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

14. ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ ചുറ്റം അണിനിരത്തുവിന് ; എല്ലാ വില്ലാളികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, അമ്പുകളെ ലോഭിക്കാതെ അതിലേക്കു എയ്തുവിടുവിന് ; അതു യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

14. I have heard tidings from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, {cf15i saying}, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

15. അതിന്നുചുറ്റും നിന്നു ആര്പ്പിടുവിന് ; അതു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കൊത്തളങ്ങള് വീണുപോയി; അതിന്റെ മതിലുകള് ഇടിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരമല്ലോ; അതിനോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്വിന് ; അതു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അതിനോടും ചെയ്വിന് .

15. For, behold, I have made thee small among the nations, and despised among men.

16. വിതെക്കുന്നവനെയും കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു അരിവാള് പിടിക്കുന്നവനെയും ബാബേലില്നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളവിന് ; നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വാള് പേടിച്ചു ഔരോരുത്തന് സ്വജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയും സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. As for thy terribleness, the pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD;

17. യിസ്രായേല് ചിന്നിപ്പോയ ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടം ആകുന്നു; സിംഹങ്ങള് അതിനെ ഔടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; ആദ്യം അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവു അതിനെ തിന്നു; ഒടുക്കം ഇപ്പോള് ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് അതിന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

17. And Edom shall become an astonishment: every one that passeth by it shall he astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

18. അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് അശ്ശൂര് രാജാവിനെ സന്ദര്ശിച്ചതുപോലെ ബാബേല് രാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

18. As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn therein.

19. പിന്നെ ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ അവന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തും; അവന് കര്മ്മേലിലും ബാശാനിലും മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിലും ഗിലെയാദിലും മേഞ്ഞു അവന്നു തൃപ്തിവരും.

19. Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of Jordan against the strong habitation: but I will suddenly make him run away from her; and whoso is chosen, him will I appoint over her: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd that will stand before me?

20. ഞാന് ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയാല് ആ നാളുകളില് ആ കാലത്തു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചാല് അതു ഇല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കും; യെഹൂദയുടെ പാപങ്ങള് അന്വേഷിച്ചാല് കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

20. Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they shall drag them away, {cf15i even} the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

21. ദ്വിമത്സരം (മെറാഥയീം) എന്ന ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ചെല്ലുക; അതിന്റെ നേരെയും സന്ദര്ശനം (പെക്കോദ്) എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ നേരെയും തന്നേ; നീ അവരുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു വെട്ടി നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തി ഞാന് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്ക എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

21. The earth trembleth at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise whereof is heard in the Red Sea.

22. യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ആരവവും മഹാസംഹാരവും ദേശത്തില് ഉണ്ടു.

22. Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

23. സര്വ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും ചുറ്റിക പിളര്ന്നു തകര്ന്നുപോയതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ബാബേല് ശൂന്യമായിത്തീര്ന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

23. Of Damascus. Hamath is ashamed, and Arpad; for they have heard evil tidings, they are melted away: there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

24. ബാബേലേ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു കണിവെച്ചു, നീ അറിയാതെ അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തി പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയോടല്ലോ നീ പൊരുതിയതു.

24. Damascus is waxed feeble, she turneth herself to flee, and trembling hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.

25. യഹോവ തന്റെ ആയുധശാല തുറന്നു തന്റെ ക്രോധത്തിന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്നു കല്ദയദേശത്തു ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്വാനുണ്ടു.

25. How is the city of praise not forsaken, the city of my joy?

26. സകലദിക്കുകളിലും നിന്നു അതിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു അതിന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളെ തുറപ്പിന് ; അതിനെ കറ്റപോലെ കൂമ്പാരം കൂട്ടുവിന് ; അതില് ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ നിര്മ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തുവിന് ;

26. Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

27. അതിലെ കാളയെ ഒക്കെയും കൊല്ലുവിന് ; അവ കുലെക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അവര്ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ നാള്, അവരുടെ സന്ദര്ശനകാലം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

27. And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.

28. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരം, തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രതികാരം തന്നേ, സീയോനില് അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേല്ദേശത്തുനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷം!

28. Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote: Thus saith the LORD: Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the children of the east.

29. ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ വില്ലാളികളെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിന് ; വില്ലു കുലെക്കുന്ന ഏവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, അതിന്റെ നേരെ ചുറ്റും പാളയമിറങ്ങുവിന് ; ആരും അതില് നിന്നു ചാടിപ്പോകരുതു; അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്നു പകരം കൊടുപ്പിന് ; അതു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അതിനോടും ചെയ്വിന് ; അതു യഹോവയോടു, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനോടു തന്നേ, അഹങ്കാരം കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

29. Their tents and their flocks shall they take; they shall carry away for themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels: and they shall cry unto them, Terror on every side.

30. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാര് അതിന്റെ വീഥികളില് വീഴും; അതിലെ യോദ്ധാക്കാള് ഒക്കെയും അന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

30. Flee ye, wander far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.

31. അഹങ്കാരിയോ, ഞാന് നിനക്കു വിരോധിയായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിന്റെ നാള്, ഞാന് നിന്നെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കുന്ന കാലം, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. Arise, get you up unto a nation that is at ease, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD; which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.

32. അഹങ്കാരി ഇടറി വീഴും; ആരും അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കയില്ല; ഞാന് അവന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കു തീ വേക്കും; അതു അവന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

32. And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter unto all winds them that have the corners {cf15i of their hair} polled; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them, saith the LORD.

33. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുയിസ്രായേല്മക്കളും യെഹൂദാമക്കളും ഒരുപോലെ പീഡിതരായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോയവരൊക്കെയും അവരെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

33. And Hazor shall be a dwelling place of jackals, a desolation for ever: no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn therein.

34. എന്നാല് അവരുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് ശക്തിമാന് ; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം; ഭൂമിക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും ബാബേല്നിവാസികള്ക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത വരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം അവന് ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ നടത്തും.

34. The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

35. കല്ദയരുടെ മേലും ബാബേല്നിവാസികളുടെമേലും അതിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ മേലും ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ മേലും വാള് വരുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

35. Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Behold, I will break the bow of Elam; the chief of their might.

36. വമ്പു പറയുന്നവര് ഭോഷന്മാരാകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേല് വാള് വരും; അതിലെ വീരന്മാര് ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേലും വാള് വരും.
വെളിപ്പാടു വെളിപാട് 7:1

36. And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

37. അവരുടെ കുതിരകളുടെമേലും രഥങ്ങളുടെമേലും അതിന്റെ നടുവിലെ സര്വ്വസമ്മിശ്രജാതിയും സ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിത്തീരത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ മേലും വാള് വരും; അതിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങള് കവര്ന്നുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവയുടെ മേലും വാള്വരും.

37. And I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

38. അതിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് അതിന്മേല് വറുതി വരുത്തും; അതു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ ദേശമല്ലോ; ഘോരബിംബങ്ങള് നിമിത്തം അവര് ഭ്രന്തന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

38. and I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence king and princes, saith the LORD.

39. ആകയാല് അവിടെ മരുമൃഗങ്ങള് കുറുനരികളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കും; ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷിയും അവിടെ വസിക്കും; ഇനി അതില് ഒരു നാളും കുടിപാര്പ്പുണ്ടാകയില്ല; തലമുറതലമുറയായി അതു നിവാസികള് ഇല്ലാതെ കിടക്കും.

39. But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
