1. പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടു, മൂന്നാം മാസം, ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

2. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോനോടും അവന്റെ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് നീ ആര്ക്കും സമന് ?

2. Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: To whom have you compared yourself in your haughtiness?

3. അശ്ശൂര് ലെബാനോനില് ഭംഗിയുള്ള കൊമ്പുകളോടും തണലുള്ള ഇലകളോടും പൊക്കത്തിലുള്ള വളര്ച്ചയോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു ദേവദാരുവായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

3. Behold, the Assyrian was a cypress in Lebanon, and was fair in shoots, and high in stature; his top reached to the midst of the clouds.

4. വെള്ളം അതിനെ വളര്ത്തി ആഴി അതിനെ ഉയരുമാറാക്കി; അതിന്റെ നദികള് തോട്ടത്തെ ചുറ്റി ഒഴുകി, അതു തന്റെ ഒഴുക്കുകളെ വയലിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

4. The water nourished him, the depth made him grow tall; she led her rivers round about his plants, and she sent forth her streams to all the trees of the field.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വളര്ന്നു വയലിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെക്കാളും പൊങ്ങി; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു പടര്ന്നു തന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പെരുക്കി ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടി.

5. Therefore was his stature exalted above all the trees of the field, and his branches spread far by the help of much water.

6. അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുണ്ടാക്കി; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും പെറ്റുകിടന്നു; അതിന്റെ തണലില് വലിയ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും പാര്ത്തു.

6. All the birds of the sky made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches all the wild beasts of the field bred; the whole multitude of nations dwelt under his shadow.

7. ഇങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ വേര് വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വലുതായി കൊമ്പുകളെ നീട്ടി ശോഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

7. And he was fair in his height by reason of the multitude of his branches, for his roots were amidst much water.

8. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ദേവദാരുക്കള്ക്കു അതിനെ മറെപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളോടു തുല്യമായിരുന്നില്ല; അരിഞ്ഞില്വൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളോടു ഒത്തിരുന്നില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു വൃക്ഷവും ഭംഗിയില് അതിനോടു സമമായിരുന്നതുമില്ല.

8. And such cypresses [as these] were in the paradise of God; and there were no pines like his shoots, and there were no firs like his branches; no tree in the paradise of God was like him in his beauty,

9. കൊമ്പുകളുടെ പെരുപ്പം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നു ഭംഗിവരുത്തിയതിനാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടമായ ഏദെനിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതിനോടു അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.

9. because of the multitude of his branches. And the trees of God's Paradise of Delight envied him.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു വളര്ന്നുപൊങ്ങി തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടി അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വളര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് ഗര്വ്വിച്ചുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു

10. Therefore thus says the Lord: Because you have grown great, and have set your top in the midst of the clouds, and I saw when he was exalted;

11. ഞാന് അതിനെ ജാതികളില് ബലവാനായവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അതിനോടു ഇടപെടും; അതിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത നിമിത്തം ഞാന് അതിനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. therefore I delivered him into the hands of the prince of the nations, and he wrought his destruction.

12. ജാതികളില് ഉഗ്രന്മാരായ അന്യജാതിക്കാര് അതിനെ വെട്ടി തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മലകളിലും എല്ലാ താഴ്വരകളിലും വീണു; അതിന്റെ ശാഖകള് ദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാതോടുകളുടെയും അരികത്തു ഒടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും അതിന്റെ തണല് വിട്ടിറങ്ങി അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയി.

12. And ravaging strangers from the nations have destroyed him, and have cast him down upon the mountains. His branches fell in all the valleys, and his boughs were broken in every field of the land; and all the people of the nations have gone down from their shelter, and have laid him low.

13. വീണുകിടക്കുന്ന അതിന്റെ തടിമേല് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും പാര്ക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്കു കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും വരും.

13. All the birds of the sky have settled on his fallen trunk, and all the wild beasts of the field came upon his boughs,

14. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഉയരം ഹേതുവായി ഗര്വ്വിക്കയോ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടുകയോ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവരായ അവരുടെ സകലബലശാലികളും തങ്ങളുടെ ഉയര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് നിഗളിച്ചു നില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. in order that none of the trees by the water should exalt themselves by reason of their size; whereas they set their top in the midst of the clouds, yet they continued not in their high state in their place, all that drank water, all were consigned to death, to the depth of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

15. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയ നാളില് ഞാന് ഒരു വിലാപം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അതിന്നുവേണ്ടി ആഴത്തെ മൂടി പെരുവെള്ളം കെട്ടിനില്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്റെ നദികളെ തടുത്തു; അതുനിമിത്തം ഞാന് ലെബാനോനെ കറുപ്പുടുപ്പിച്ചു; കാട്ടിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതുനിമിത്തം ക്ഷീണിച്ചു പോയി.

15. Thus says the Lord God: In the day in which he went down to Hades, the deep mourned for him; and I kept back her floods, and restrained her abundance of water; and Lebanon mourned for him, [and] all the trees of the field fainted for him.

16. ഞാന് അതിനെ കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ പാതാളത്തില് തള്ളിയിട്ടപ്പോള്, അതിന്റെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുക്കത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ജാതികളെ നടുങ്ങുമാറാക്കി; ഏദെനിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ലെബാനോനിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ഉത്തമവുമായി വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

16. At the sound of his fall the nations quaked, when I brought him down to Hades with them that go down to the pit. And all the trees of Delight comforted him in the heart, and the choice [plants] of Lebanon, all that drink water.

17. അവയും അതിനോടുകൂടെ വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അതിന്റെ തുണയായി അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാര്ത്തവര് തന്നേ.

17. For they went down to hell with him among the slain with the sword; and his seed, [even] those that dwelt under his shadow, perished in the midst of their life.

18. അങ്ങനെ നീ മഹത്വത്തിലും വലിപ്പത്തിലും ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളില് ഏതിനോടു തുല്യമാകുന്നു? എന്നാല് നീ ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരോടുകൂടെ നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ ഇടയില് കിടക്കും. ഇതു ഫറവോനും അവന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും തന്നേ എാന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18. To whom are you compared? Descend, and be debased with the trees of paradise to the depth of the earth. You shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with those that are slain by the sword. Thus shall Pharaoh be, and the multitude of his army, says the Lord God.
