1. പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടു, മൂന്നാം മാസം, ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And it cometh to pass, in the eleventh year, in the third [month], in the first of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying:

2. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോനോടും അവന്റെ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് നീ ആര്ക്കും സമന് ?

2. 'Son of man, say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and unto his multitude: To whom hast thou been like in thy greatness?

3. അശ്ശൂര് ലെബാനോനില് ഭംഗിയുള്ള കൊമ്പുകളോടും തണലുള്ള ഇലകളോടും പൊക്കത്തിലുള്ള വളര്ച്ചയോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു ദേവദാരുവായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

3. Lo, Asshur, a cedar in Lebanon, Fair in branch, and shading bough, and high in stature, And between thickets hath its foliage been.

4. വെള്ളം അതിനെ വളര്ത്തി ആഴി അതിനെ ഉയരുമാറാക്കി; അതിന്റെ നദികള് തോട്ടത്തെ ചുറ്റി ഒഴുകി, അതു തന്റെ ഒഴുക്കുകളെ വയലിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

4. Waters have made it great, The deep hath exalted him with its flowings, Going round about its planting, And its conduits it hath sent forth unto all trees of the field.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വളര്ന്നു വയലിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെക്കാളും പൊങ്ങി; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു പടര്ന്നു തന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പെരുക്കി ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടി.

5. Therefore higher hath been his stature than all trees of the field, And multiplied are his boughs, and long are his branches, Because of many waters in his shooting forth,

6. അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുണ്ടാക്കി; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും പെറ്റുകിടന്നു; അതിന്റെ തണലില് വലിയ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും പാര്ത്തു.

6. In his boughs made a nest hath every fowl of the heavens, And under his branches brought forth hath every beast of the field, And in his shade dwell do all great nations.

7. ഇങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ വേര് വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വലുതായി കൊമ്പുകളെ നീട്ടി ശോഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

7. And he is fair in his greatness, In the length of his thin shoots, For his root hath been by great waters.

8. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ദേവദാരുക്കള്ക്കു അതിനെ മറെപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളോടു തുല്യമായിരുന്നില്ല; അരിഞ്ഞില്വൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളോടു ഒത്തിരുന്നില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു വൃക്ഷവും ഭംഗിയില് അതിനോടു സമമായിരുന്നതുമില്ല.

8. Cedars have not hid him in the garden of God, Firs have not been like unto his boughs, And chesnut-trees have not been as his branches, No tree in the garden of God hath been like unto him in his beauty,

9. കൊമ്പുകളുടെ പെരുപ്പം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നു ഭംഗിവരുത്തിയതിനാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടമായ ഏദെനിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതിനോടു അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.

9. Fair I have made him in the multitude of his thin shoots, And envy him do all trees of Eden that [are] in the garden of God.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു വളര്ന്നുപൊങ്ങി തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടി അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വളര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് ഗര്വ്വിച്ചുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു

10. Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because that thou hast been high in stature, And he yieldeth his foliage between thickets, And high is his heart in his haughtiness,

11. ഞാന് അതിനെ ജാതികളില് ബലവാനായവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അതിനോടു ഇടപെടും; അതിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത നിമിത്തം ഞാന് അതിനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. I give him into the hand of a god of nations, He dealeth sorely with him, In his wickedness I have cast him out.

12. ജാതികളില് ഉഗ്രന്മാരായ അന്യജാതിക്കാര് അതിനെ വെട്ടി തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മലകളിലും എല്ലാ താഴ്വരകളിലും വീണു; അതിന്റെ ശാഖകള് ദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാതോടുകളുടെയും അരികത്തു ഒടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും അതിന്റെ തണല് വിട്ടിറങ്ങി അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയി.

12. And cut him off do strangers, The terrible of nations, and they leave him, On the mountains and in all valleys have his thin shoots fallen, And broken are his boughs at all streams of the land, And go down from his shade do all peoples of the land, and they leave him.

13. വീണുകിടക്കുന്ന അതിന്റെ തടിമേല് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും പാര്ക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്കു കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും വരും.

13. On his ruin dwell do all fowls of the heavens, And on his boughs have been all the beasts of the field,

14. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഉയരം ഹേതുവായി ഗര്വ്വിക്കയോ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടുകയോ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവരായ അവരുടെ സകലബലശാലികളും തങ്ങളുടെ ഉയര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് നിഗളിച്ചു നില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. In order that none of the trees of the waters May become haughty because of their stature, Nor give their foliage between thickets, Nor any drinking waters stand up unto them in their haughtiness, For all of them are given up to death, Unto the earth -- the lower part, In the midst of the sons of men, Unto those going down to the pit.

15. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയ നാളില് ഞാന് ഒരു വിലാപം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അതിന്നുവേണ്ടി ആഴത്തെ മൂടി പെരുവെള്ളം കെട്ടിനില്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്റെ നദികളെ തടുത്തു; അതുനിമിത്തം ഞാന് ലെബാനോനെ കറുപ്പുടുപ്പിച്ചു; കാട്ടിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതുനിമിത്തം ക്ഷീണിച്ചു പോയി.

15. Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the day of his going down to sheol I have caused mourning, I have covered for him the deep, and diminish its flowings, And restrained are many waters, And I make Lebanon black for him, And all trees of the field have been covered for him.

16. ഞാന് അതിനെ കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ പാതാളത്തില് തള്ളിയിട്ടപ്പോള്, അതിന്റെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുക്കത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ജാതികളെ നടുങ്ങുമാറാക്കി; ഏദെനിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ലെബാനോനിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ഉത്തമവുമായി വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

16. From the sound of his fall I have caused nations to shake, In My causing him to go down to sheol, With those going down to the pit, And comforted in the earth -- the lower part, are all trees of Eden, The choice and the good of Lebanon, All drinking waters.

17. അവയും അതിനോടുകൂടെ വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അതിന്റെ തുണയായി അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാര്ത്തവര് തന്നേ.

17. Also they with him have gone down to sheol, Unto the pierced of the sword, And -- his arm -- they dwelt in his shade in the midst of nations.

18. അങ്ങനെ നീ മഹത്വത്തിലും വലിപ്പത്തിലും ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളില് ഏതിനോടു തുല്യമാകുന്നു? എന്നാല് നീ ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരോടുകൂടെ നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ ഇടയില് കിടക്കും. ഇതു ഫറവോനും അവന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും തന്നേ എാന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18. Unto whom hast thou been thus like, In honour and in greatness among the trees of Eden, And thou hast been brought down with the trees of Eden, Unto the earth -- the lower part, In the midst of the uncircumcised thou liest, With the pierced of the sword? It [is] Pharaoh, and all his multitude, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'
