1. അനന്തരം ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ അവന് അത്യുച്ചത്തില് വിളിച്ചു നഗരത്തിന്റെ സന്ദര്ശനങ്ങളെ അടുത്തു വരുമാറാക്കുവിന് ; ഔരോരുത്തനും നാശകരമായ ആയുധം കയ്യില് എടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

1. He cryed also with a loude voyce in mine eares, saying, The visitations of the citie draw neere, and euery man hath a weapon in his hande to destroy it.

2. അപ്പോള് ആറു പുരുഷന്മാര്, ഔരോരുത്തനും വെണ്മഴു കയ്യില് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു വടക്കോട്ടുള്ള മേലത്തെ പടിവാതിലിന്റെ വഴിയായി വന്നു; അവരുടെ നടുവില് ശണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരയില് എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ മഷിക്കുപ്പിയുമായി ഒരുത്തന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് അകത്തു ചെന്നു താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ അരികെ നിന്നു.

2. And beholde, sixe men came by the way of the hie gate, which lieth towarde the North, and euery man a weapon in his hande to destroy it: and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writers ynkhorne by his side, and they went in and stoode beside the brasen altar.

3. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം, അതു ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന കെരൂബിന്മേല്നിന്നു ആലയത്തിന്റെ ഉമ്മരപ്പടിക്കല് വന്നിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന് , ശണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരയില് എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ മഷിക്കുപ്പിയുമായി നിന്നിരുന്ന പുരുഷനെ വിളിച്ചു.

3. And the glorie of the God of Israel was gone vp from ye Cherub, whereupon he was and stoode on the doore of the house, and he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers ynkhorne by his side.

4. അവനോടു യഹോവനീ നഗരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നടുവില്കൂടി ചെന്നു, അതില് നടക്കുന്ന സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതകളും നിമിത്തം നെടുവീര്പ്പിട്ടു കരയുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ നെറ്റികളില് ഒരു അടയാളം ഇടുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

4. And the Lord said vnto him, Goe through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ierusalem and set a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and cry for all the abominations that be done in the middes thereof.

5. മറ്റേവരോടു ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ അവന് നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നഗരത്തില്കൂടി ചെന്നു വെട്ടുവിന് ! നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിന്നു ആദരവു തോന്നരുതു; നിങ്ങള് കരുണ കാണിക്കയുമരുതു.

5. And to the other he said, that I might heare, Goe ye after him through the citie, and smite: let your eye spare none, neither haue pitie.

6. വൃദ്ധന്മാരെയും യൌവനക്കാരെയും കന്യകമാരെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കൊന്നുകളവിന് ! എന്നാല് അടയാളമുള്ള ഒരുത്തനെയും തൊടരുതു; എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് തന്നേ തുടങ്ങുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവര് ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് തുടങ്ങി.

6. Destroy vtterly the old, and the yong, and the maides, and the children, and the women, but touch no man, vpon whome is the marke, and begin at my Sanctuarie. Then they began at the Ancient men, which were before the house.

7. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ആലയത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി, പ്രാകാരങ്ങളെ നിഹതന്മാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറെപ്പിന് ; പുറപ്പെടുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു, നഗരത്തില് സംഹാരം നടത്തി.

7. And he sayde vnto them, Defile the house, and fill the courtes with the slaine, then goe foorth: and they went out, and slewe them in the citie.

8. അവരെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞശേഷം ഞാന് മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചു; ഞാന് കവിണ്ണുവീണു; അയ്യോ, യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവേ, യെരൂശലേമിന്മേല് നിന്റെ ക്രോധം പകരുന്നതിനാല് യിസ്രായേലില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരെ ഒക്കെയും സംഹരിക്കുമോ? എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Nowe when they had slaine them, and I had escaped, I fell downe vpon my face, and cryed, saying, Ah Lord God, wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel, in powring out thy wrath vpon Ierusalem?

9. അതിന്നു അവന് എന്നോടുയിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെയും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിന്റെയും അകൃത്യം ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദേശം രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടും നഗരം അന്യായംകൊണ്ടും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ദേശത്തെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

9. Then saide he vnto me, The iniquitie of the house of Israel, and Iudah is exceeding great, so that the lande is full of blood, and the citie full of corrupt iudgement: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth vs not.

10. ഞാനോ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു ആദരവു തോന്നാതെയും ഞാന് കരുണ കാണിക്കാതെയും അവരുടെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ തലമേല് പകരം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

10. As touching me also, mine eye shall not spare them, neither will I haue pitie, but will recompence their wayes vpon their heades.

11. ശണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരയില് മഷിക്കുപ്പിയുമായുള്ള പുരുഷന് എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞാന് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വസ്തുത ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

11. And beholde, the man clothed with linen which had the ynkhorne by his side, made report, and saide, Lord, I haue done as thou hast commanded me.
