1. അനന്തരം ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ അവന് അത്യുച്ചത്തില് വിളിച്ചു നഗരത്തിന്റെ സന്ദര്ശനങ്ങളെ അടുത്തു വരുമാറാക്കുവിന് ; ഔരോരുത്തനും നാശകരമായ ആയുധം കയ്യില് എടുക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

1. He cried also with a loud voice in mine ears, saying: Come her ye rulers of the city, every man with his weaponed hand to the slaughter.

2. അപ്പോള് ആറു പുരുഷന്മാര്, ഔരോരുത്തനും വെണ്മഴു കയ്യില് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു വടക്കോട്ടുള്ള മേലത്തെ പടിവാതിലിന്റെ വഴിയായി വന്നു; അവരുടെ നടുവില് ശണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരയില് എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ മഷിക്കുപ്പിയുമായി ഒരുത്തന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് അകത്തു ചെന്നു താമ്രയാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ അരികെ നിന്നു.

2. Then came there six men out of the street of the upper port toward the north, and every man a weapon in his hand to the slaughter. There was one amongst them, that had on him a linen(lining) rayment, and a writer's inkhorn by his side. These went in, and stood beside the brazen alter:

3. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം, അതു ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന കെരൂബിന്മേല്നിന്നു ആലയത്തിന്റെ ഉമ്മരപ്പടിക്കല് വന്നിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവന് , ശണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരയില് എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ മഷിക്കുപ്പിയുമായി നിന്നിരുന്ന പുരുഷനെ വിളിച്ചു.

3. for the glory of the Lord(God) was gone away from the Cherub, and was come down to the threshold of the house, and he called the man that had the linen(lining) rayment upon him, and the writer's inkhorn by his side,

4. അവനോടു യഹോവനീ നഗരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നടുവില്കൂടി ചെന്നു, അതില് നടക്കുന്ന സകലമ്ളേച്ഛതകളും നിമിത്തം നെടുവീര്പ്പിട്ടു കരയുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ നെറ്റികളില് ഒരു അടയാളം ഇടുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

4. and the LORD said unto him: Go thy way thorow the city of Jerusalem, and set this mark(Hebrew: t) Thau upon the foreheads of them, that mourn and are sorry for all the abominations, that be done therein.

5. മറ്റേവരോടു ഞാന് കേള്ക്കെ അവന് നിങ്ങള് അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നഗരത്തില്കൂടി ചെന്നു വെട്ടുവിന് ! നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിന്നു ആദരവു തോന്നരുതു; നിങ്ങള് കരുണ കാണിക്കയുമരുതു.

5. And to the other, he said that I might hear: Go ye after him thorow the city, slay, oversee none, spare none:

6. വൃദ്ധന്മാരെയും യൌവനക്കാരെയും കന്യകമാരെയും പൈതങ്ങളെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കൊന്നുകളവിന് ! എന്നാല് അടയാളമുള്ള ഒരുത്തനെയും തൊടരുതു; എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് തന്നേ തുടങ്ങുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവര് ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് തുടങ്ങി.

6. kill and destroy both old man and young, maidens, children and wives. But as for those, that have this mark(Hebrew: t) Thau upon them: see that ye touch them not, and begin at my Sanctuary. Then they began at the elders, which were in the temple,

7. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ആലയത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കി, പ്രാകാരങ്ങളെ നിഹതന്മാരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറെപ്പിന് ; പുറപ്പെടുവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ അവര് പുറപ്പെട്ടു, നഗരത്തില് സംഹാരം നടത്തി.

7. for he had said unto them: When ye have defiled the temple, and filled the court with the slain, then go your way forth. So they went out, and slew down thorow the city.

8. അവരെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞശേഷം ഞാന് മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചു; ഞാന് കവിണ്ണുവീണു; അയ്യോ, യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവേ, യെരൂശലേമിന്മേല് നിന്റെ ക്രോധം പകരുന്നതിനാല് യിസ്രായേലില് ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരെ ഒക്കെയും സംഹരിക്കുമോ? എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Now when they had done the slaughter, and I yet escaped: I fell down upon my face, and cried saying: O LORD, wilt thou then destroy all the residue of Israel, in thy sore displeasure, that thou hast poured upon Jerusalem?

9. അതിന്നു അവന് എന്നോടുയിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെയും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തിന്റെയും അകൃത്യം ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദേശം രക്തപാതകംകൊണ്ടും നഗരം അന്യായംകൊണ്ടും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ദേശത്തെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

9. Then said he unto me: The wickedness of the house of Israel and Juda is very great: so that the land is full of blood, and the city full of unfaithfulness: For they say: Tush, the LORD regardeth not the earth, he seeth us not.

10. ഞാനോ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു ആദരവു തോന്നാതെയും ഞാന് കരുണ കാണിക്കാതെയും അവരുടെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ തലമേല് പകരം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

10. Therefore will I upon them, mine eye shall not oversee them, neither will I spare them, but will recompense their wickedness upon their heads.

11. ശണവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരയില് മഷിക്കുപ്പിയുമായുള്ള പുരുഷന് എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞാന് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വസ്തുത ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

11. And behold, the man that had the linen(lining) rayment upon him, and the writers inkhorn by his side: told all the matter how it happened, and said: Lord,(LORDE) as thou hast commanded me, so have I done.
