1. സീയോനില് കാഹളം ഊതുവിന് ; എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപര്വ്വതത്തില് അയ്യംവിളിപ്പിന് ; യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അതു അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും ദേശത്തിലെ സകലനിവാസികളും നടുങ്ങിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

1. Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of YHWH cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

2. ഇരുട്ടും അന്ധകാരവുമുള്ളോരു ദിവസം; മേഘവും കൂരിരുട്ടുമുള്ളോരു ദിവസം തന്നേ. പര്വ്വതങ്ങളില് പരന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രഭാതംപോലെ പെരുപ്പവും ബലവുമുള്ളോരു ജാതി; അങ്ങനെയുള്ളതു പണ്ടു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല; ഇനിമേലാല് തലമുറതലമുറയായുള്ള ആണ്ടുകളോളം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല.

2. A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

3. അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് തീ കത്തുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിമ്പില് ജ്വാല ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ദേശം ഏദെന് തോട്ടംപോലെയാകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിറകിലോ ശൂന്യമായുള്ള മരുഭൂമി; അവരുടെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു യാതൊന്നും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല.

3. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

4. അവരുടെ രൂപം കുതിരകളുടെ രൂപംപോലെ; അവര് കുതിരച്ചേവകരെപ്പോലെ ഔടുന്നു.

4. The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

5. അവര് പര്വ്വതശിഖരങ്ങളില് രഥങ്ങളുടെ മുഴക്കംപോലെ കുതിച്ചു ചാടുന്നു അഗ്നിജ്വാല താളടിയെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ശബ്ദംപോലെയും പടെക്കു നിരന്നുനിലക്കുന്ന ശക്തിയുള്ള പടജ്ജനം പോലെയും തന്നേ.

5. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

6. അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ജാതികള് നടുങ്ങുന്നു; സകലമുഖങ്ങളും വിളറിപ്പോകുന്നു;

6. Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.

7. അവര് വീരന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ഔടുന്നു; യോദ്ധാക്കളെപ്പോലെ മതില് കയറുന്നു; അവര് പാത വിട്ടുമാറാതെ താന്താന്റെ വഴിയില് നടക്കുന്നു.

7. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

8. അവര് തമ്മില് തിക്കാതെ താന്താന്റെ പാതയില് നേരെ നടക്കുന്നു; അവര് മുറിവേല്ക്കാതെ ആയുധങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്കൂടി ചാടുന്നു.

8. Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.

9. അവര് പട്ടണത്തില് ചാടിക്കടക്കുന്നു; മതിലിന്മേല് ഔടുന്നു; വീടുകളിന്മേല് കയറുന്നു; കള്ളനെപ്പോലെ കിളിവാതിലുകളില്കൂടി കടക്കുന്നു.

9. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

10. അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ഭൂമി കുലുങ്ങുന്നു; ആകാശം നടങ്ങുന്നു; സൂര്യനും ചന്ദ്രനും ഇരുണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങള് പ്രകാശം നല്കാതിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

11. യഹോവ തന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിന് മുമ്പില് മേഘനാദം കേള്പ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ പാളയം അത്യന്തം വലുതും അവന്റെ വചനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നവന് ശക്തിയുള്ളവനും തന്നേ; യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം വലുതും അതിഭയങ്കരവുമാകുന്നു; അതു സഹിക്കാകുന്നവന് ആര്?

11. And YHWH shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of YHWH is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

12. എന്നാല് ഇപ്പോഴെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും ഉപവാസത്തോടും കരച്ചലോടും വിലാപത്തോടുംകൂടെ എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിവിന് എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

12. Therefore also now, saith YHWH, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

13. വിസ്ത്രങ്ങളെയല്ല ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ തന്നേ കീറി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിവിന് ; അവന് കൃപയും കരുണയും ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയും മഹാദയയുമുള്ളവനല്ലോ; അവന് അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിക്കും.

13. And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto YHWH your Elohim: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

14. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വീണ്ടും അനുതപിച്ചു തനിക്കു ഭോജനയാഗവും പാനീയയാഗവുമായുള്ളോരു അനുഗ്രഹം വെച്ചേക്കയില്ലയോ? ആര്ക്കറിയാം?

14. Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto YHWH your Elohim?

15. സീയോനില് കാഹളം ഊതുവിന് ; ഒരു ഉപവാസം നിയമിപ്പിന് ; സഭായോഗം വിളിപ്പിന് !

15. Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

16. ജനത്തെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തുവിന് ; സഭയെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പിന് ; മൂപ്പന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തുവിന് ; പൈതങ്ങളെയും മുലകുടിക്കുന്നവരെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിന് ; മണവാളന് മണവറയും മണവാട്ടി ഉള്ളറയും വിട്ടു പുറത്തു വരട്ടെ.

16. Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

17. യഹോവയുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് പൂമുഖത്തിന്റെയും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെയും മദ്ധ്യേ കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടുയഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേ; ജാതികള് അവരുടെ മേല് വഴുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ നിന്ദെക്കു ഏല്പിക്കരുതേ; അവരുടെ ദൈവം എവിടെയെന്നു ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് പറയുന്നതെന്തിന്നു? എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറയട്ടെ.

17. Let the priests, the ministers of YHWH, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O YHWH, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their Elohim?

18. അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ തന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി തീക്ഷണത കാണിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആദരിച്ചു.

18. Then will YHWH be jealous for his land, and pity his people.

19. യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു ഉത്തരം അരുളിയതുഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ധാന്യവും വീഞ്ഞും എണ്ണയും നലകും; നിങ്ങള് അതിനാല് തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കും; ഞാന് ഇനി നിങ്ങളെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്ദയാക്കുകയുമില്ല.

19. Yea, YHWH will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:

20. വടക്കുനിന്നുള്ള ശത്രുവിനെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദൂരത്താക്കി വരണ്ടതും ശൂന്യവുമായോരു ദേശത്തേക്കു നീക്കി, അവന്റെ മുന് പടയെ കിഴക്കെ കടലിലും അവന്റെ പിന് പടയെ പടിഞ്ഞാറെ കടലിലും ഇട്ടുകളയും; അവന് വമ്പു കാട്ടിയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ദുര്ഗ്ഗന്ധം പൊങ്ങുകയും നാറ്റം കയറുകയും ചെയ്യും.

20. But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up because he hath done great things.

21. ദേശമേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്ക; യഹോവ വന് കാര്യങ്ങളെ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

21. Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for YHWH will do great things.

22. വയലിലേ മൃഗങ്ങളേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; മരുഭൂമിയിലെ പുല്പുറങ്ങള് പച്ചവെക്കുന്നു; വൃക്ഷം ഫലം കായക്കുന്നു; അത്തിവൃക്ഷവും മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും അനുഭവപുഷ്ടി നലകുന്നു.

22. Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.

23. സീയോന് മക്കളേ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയില് സന്തോഷിപ്പിന് ! അവന് തക്ക അളവായി നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുന് മഴ തരുന്നു; അവന് മുമ്പേപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മുന് മഴയും പിന് മഴയുമായ വര്ഷം പെയ്യിച്ചുതരുന്നു.

23. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in YHWH your Elohim: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

24. അങ്ങനെ കളപ്പുരകള് ധാന്യംകൊണ്ടു നിറയും; ചക്കുകള് വീഞ്ഞും എണ്ണയും കൊണ്ടു കവിയും.

24. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.

25. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മഹാസൈന്യമായ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും വിട്ടിലും തുള്ളനും പച്ചപ്പുഴുവും തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞ സംവത്സരങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പകരം നലകും.

25. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

26. നിങ്ങള് വേണ്ടുവോളം തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി, നിങ്ങളോടു അത്ഭുതമായി പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനം ഒരുനാളും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയുമില്ല.

26. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of YHWH your Elohim, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

27. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നടുവില് ഉണ്ടു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ, മറ്റൊരുത്തന്നുമില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയും; എന്റെ ജനം ഒരു നാളും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയുമില്ല.

27. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am YHWH your Elohim, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

28. അതിന്റെ ശേഷമോ, ഞാന് സകലജഡത്തിന്മേലും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും, നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാര് സ്വപ്നങ്ങളെ കാണും; നിങ്ങളുടെ യൌവനക്കാര് ദര്ശനങ്ങളെ ദര്ശിക്കും.

28. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29. ദാസന്മാരുടെ മേലും ദാസിമാരുടെമേലും കൂടെ ഞാന് ആ നാളുകളില് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും.

29. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30. ഞാന് ആകാശത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ കാണിക്കുംരക്തവും തീയും പുകത്തൂണും തന്നേ.

30. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31. യഹോവയുടെ വലുതും ഭയങ്കരവുമായുള്ള ദിവസം വരുംമുമ്പെ സൂര്യന് ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രന് രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.

31. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of YHWH come.

32. എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന് ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപെടും; യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ സിയോന് പര്വ്വതത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണവും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് യഹോവ വിളിപ്പാനുള്ളവരും ഉണ്ടാകും.

32. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as YHWH hath said, and in the remnant whom YHWH shall call.
