1. അനന്തരം ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുഇവിടെ എനിക്കു ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഒരുക്കിനിര്ത്തുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. Bil'am said to Balak, 'Build me seven altars here, and prepare me seven bulls and seven rams here.'

2. ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക് ചെയ്തു; ബാലാക്കും ബിലെയാമും ഔരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു;

2. Balak did as Bil'am said; then Balak and Bil'am offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

3. പിന്നെ ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുനിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നില്ക്ക; ഞാന് അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെല്ലട്ടെ; പക്ഷേ യഹോവ എനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകും; അവന് എന്നെ ദര്ശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അറിയിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കുന്നിന്മേല് കയറി.

3. Bil'am said to Balak, 'Stand by your burnt offering while I go off; maybe ADONAI will come and meet me; and whatever he shows me I will tell you.' He went off to a bare hill.

4. ദൈവം ബിലെയാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; ബിലെയാം അവനോടുഞാന് ഏഴു പിഠം ഒരുക്കി ഔരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. God met Bil'am, who said to him, 'I prepared the seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.'

5. എന്നാറെ യഹോവ ഒരു വചനം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ആക്കിക്കൊടുത്തുനീ ബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

5. Then ADONAI put a word in Bil'am's mouth and said, 'Go on back to Balak, and speak as I tell you.'

6. അവന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അവനും മോവാബ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നിരുന്നു.

6. He went back to him, and there, standing by his burnt offering, he with all the princes of Mo'av,

7. അപ്പോള് അവന് സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതുബാലാക് എന്നെ അരാമില്നിന്നും മോവാബ്രാജാവു പൂര്വ്വപര്വ്വതങ്ങളില്നിന്നും വരുത്തിചെന്നു യാക്കോബിനെ ശപിക്ക; ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേലിനെ പ്രാകുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. he made his pronouncement: 'Balak, the king of Mo'av, brings me from Aram, from the eastern hills, saying, 'Come, curse Ya'akov for me; come and denounce Isra'el.'

8. ദൈവം ശപിക്കാത്തവനെ ഞാന് എങ്ങനെ ശപിക്കും? യഹോവ പ്രാകാത്തവനെ ഞാന് എങ്ങനെ പ്രാകും?

8. How am I to curse those whom God has not cursed? How am I to denounce those whom ADONAI has not denounced?

9. ശിലാഗ്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നു ഞാന് അവനെ കാണുന്നു; ഗിരികളില്നിന്നു ഞാന് അവനെ ദര്ശിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ തനിച്ചു പാര്ക്കുംന്നോരു ജനം; ജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് എണ്ണപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.

9. From the top of the rocks I see them, from the hills I behold them- yes, a people that will dwell alone and not think itself one of the nations.

10. യാക്കോബിന്റെ ധൂളിയെ ആര്ക്കും എണ്ണാം? യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കാലംശത്തെ ആര്ക്കും ഗണിക്കാം? ഭക്തന്മാര് മരിക്കുമ്പോലെ ഞാന് മരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അവസാനം അവന്റേതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ.

10. Who has counted the dust of Ya'akov or numbered the ashes of Isra'el? May I die as the righteous die! May my end be like theirs!'

11. ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനോടുനീ എന്നോടു ഈ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ശപിപ്പാനല്ലോ ഞാന് നിന്നെ വരുത്തിയതു? നീയോ അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Balak said to Bil'am, 'What have you done to me?! To curse my enemies is why I brought you; and, here, you have totally blessed them!'

12. അതിന്നു അവന് യഹോവ എന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് തന്നതു പറവാന് ഞാന് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടായോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

12. He answered, 'Mustn't I take care to say just what ADONAI puts in my mouth?'

13. ബാലാക് അവനോടുനീ അവരെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരിക; എന്നാല് അവരുടെ ഒരറ്റം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ എല്ലാവരെയും കാണുകയില്ല; അവിടെനിന്നു അവരെ ശപിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Balak said to him, 'All right, come with me to another place where you can see them. You will see only some of them, not all; but you can curse them for me from there.'

14. ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് പിസ്ഗകൊടുമുടിയില് സോഫീം എന്ന മുകള്പ്പരപ്പിലേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഔരോ പീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

14. He took him through the field of Tzofim to the top of the Pisgah Range, built seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

15. പിന്നെ അവന് ബാലാക്കിനോടുഇവിടെ നിന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നില്ക്ക; ഞാന് അങ്ങോട്ടു ചെന്നു കാണട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Bil'am said to Balak, 'Stand here by your burnt offering, while I go over there for a meeting.'

16. യഹോവ ബിലെയാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവന്റെ നാവിന്മേല് ഒരു വചനം കൊടുത്തുബാലാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു ഇപ്രകാരം പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

16. ADONAI met Bil'am, put a word in his mouth and said, 'Go on back to Balak, and speak as I tell you.'

17. അവന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നപ്പോള് അവന് മോവാബ്യ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ തന്റെ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള് ബാലാക് അവനോടുയഹോവ എന്തു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. He came to him and stood by his burnt offering, with all the princes of Mo'av. Balak asked him, 'What did ADONAI say?'

18. അവന് സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതുബാലാക്കേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു കേള്ക്ക; സിപ്പോരിന്റെ പുത്രാ, എനിക്കു ചെവി തരിക.

18. Then Bil'am made his pronouncement: 'Get up, Balak, and listen! Turn your ears to me, son of Tzippor!

19. വ്യാജം പറവാന് ദൈവം മനുഷ്യനല്ല; അനുതപിപ്പാന് അവന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രനുമല്ല; താന് കല്പിച്ചതു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ? താന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

19. God is not a human who lies or a mortal who changes his mind. When he says something, he will do it; when he makes a promise, he will fulfill it.

20. അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് എനിക്കു കല്പന ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു അതു മറിച്ചുകൂടാ.

20. Look, I am ordered to bless; when he blesses, I can't reverse it.

21. യാക്കോബില് തിന്മ കാണ്മാനില്ല; യിസ്രായേലില് കഷ്ടത ദര്ശിപ്പാനുമില്ല; അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; രാജകോലാഹലം അവരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഉണ്ടു.

21. No one has seen guilt in Ya'akov, or perceived perversity in Isra'el; ADONAI their God is with them and acclaimed as king among them.

22. ദൈവം അവരെ മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; കാട്ടുപോത്തിന്നു തുല്യമായ ബലം അവന്നു ഉണ്ടു.

22. 'God, who brought them out of Egypt, gives them the strength of a wild ox;

23. ആഭിചാരം യാക്കോബിന്നു പറ്റുകയില്ല; ലക്ഷണവിദ്യ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഫലിക്കയുമില്ല; ഇപ്പോള് യാക്കോബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചുംദൈവം എന്തെല്ലാം പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നേ പറയാവു.

23. thus one can't put a spell on Ya'akov, no magic will work against Isra'el. It can now be said of Ya'akov and Isra'el, 'What is this that God has done?!'

24. ഇതാ, ജനം സിംഹിയെപ്പോലെ എഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നു; ബാലസിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ തെളിഞ്ഞുനിലക്കുന്നു; അവന് ഇര പിടിച്ചു തിന്നാതെയും നിഹതന്മാരുടെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും കിടക്കയില്ല.

24. 'Here is a people rising up like a lioness; like a lion he rears himself up- he will not lie down till he eats up the prey and drinks the blood of the slain.'

25. അപ്പോള് ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനോടുഅവരെ ശപിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും വേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. Balak said to Bil'am, 'Obviously, you won't curse them. But at least don't bless them!'

26. ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുയഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാന് ചെയ്യും എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

26. However, Bil'am answered Balak, 'Didn't I warn you that I must do everything ADONAI says?'

27. ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനോടുവരിക, ഞാന് നിന്നെ മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവിടെനിന്നു നീ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അവരെ ശപിപ്പാന് ദൈവത്തിന്നു പക്ഷേ സമ്മതമാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Balak said to Bil'am, 'Come, I will take you now to another place; maybe it will please God for you to curse them for me from there.'

28. അങ്ങനെ ബാലാക് ബിലെയാമിനെ മരുഭൂമിക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള പെയോര്മലയുടെ മുകളില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

28. Balak took Bil'am to the top of P'or, overlooking the desert.

29. ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോടുഇവിടെ എനിക്കു ഏഴു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഒരുക്കിനിര്ത്തുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Bil'am said to Balak, 'Build me seven altars here, and prepare me seven bulls and seven rams.'

30. ബിലെയാം പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ബാലാക് ചെയ്തു; ഔരോ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു കാളയെയും ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

30. Balak did as Bil'am said and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
