1. ആറു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം യേശു പത്രൊസിനെയും യാക്കോബിനെയും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടി തനിച്ചു ഒരു ഉയര്ന്ന മലയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി,.

1. And, after six days, Jesus taketh with him, Peter and James and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain, apart;

2. അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ രൂപാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു, അവന്റെ മുഖം സൂര്യനെപ്പോലെ ശോഭിച്ചു അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം വെളിച്ചം പോലെ വെള്ളയായി തീര്ന്നു.

2. and was transformed before them, and his face shone as the sun, and, his garments, became white as the light.

3. And lo! there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, conversing with him.

4. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് യേശുവിനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, നാം ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു; നിനക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കില് ഞാന് ഇവിടെ മൂന്നു കുടില് ഉണ്ടാക്കാം ഒന്നു നിനക്കും ഒന്നു മോശെക്കും ഒന്നു ഏലീയാവിന്നും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And Peter, answering, said unto Jesus Lord! it is, delightful, for us, to be here, If thou wilt, I will make here three tents, for thee, one, and, for Moses, one, and, for Elijah, one.

5. അവന് പറയുമ്പോള് തന്നേ പ്രകാശമുള്ളോരു മേഘം അവരുടെ മേല് നിഴലിട്ടു; മേഘത്തില് നിന്നുഇവന് എന്റെ പ്രീയ പുത്രന് , ഇവങ്കല് ഞാന് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു; ഇവന്നു ചെവികൊടുപ്പിന് എന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

5. While yet he was speaking, lo! a brightly shining cloud, overshadowed them, and lo! a voice, out of the cloud, saying This, is, my Son, the Beloved, in whom I delight, Be hearkening to him.

6. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു കവിണ്ണുവീണു.

6. And, hearing it, the disciples fell upon their face, and were caused to fear exceedingly.

7. യേശു അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവരെ തൊട്ടു“എഴുന്നേല്പിന് , ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And Jesus came near, and, touching them, said Arise! and be not afraid.

8. അവര് തലപൊക്കിയാറെ യേശുവിനെ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരെയും കണ്ടില്ല.

8. And, lifting up their eyes, no one, saw they, save Jesus, himself, alone.

9. അവന് മലയില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു“മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കുംവരെ ഈ ദര്ശനം ആരോടും പറയരുതു” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

9. And, as they were coming down out of the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying Unto no one, may ye tell the vision, until the Son of Man, from among the dead shall arise.

10. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുഎന്നാല് ഏലീയാവു മുമ്പെ വരേണ്ടതു എന്നു ശാസ്ത്രിമാര് പറയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. And the disciples questioned him, saying Why then do, the Scribes, say, that, Elijah, must needs come, first?

11. അതിന്നു അവന് “ഏലീയാവു വന്നു സകലവും യഥാസ്ഥാനത്താക്കും സത്യം.

11. And, he, answering, said Elijah, indeed, cometh, and will restored all things;

12. എന്നാല് ഏലീയാവു വന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവര് അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളാതെ തങ്ങള്ക്കു തോന്നിയതു എല്ലാം അവനോടു ചെയ്തു. അവ്വണ്ണം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നും അവരാല് കഷ്ടപ്പെടുവാനുണ്ടു” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

12. But, I say unto you that, Elijah, just now, came, and they recognised him not, but did with him, whatsoever they pleased: Thus, the Son of Man also, is destined to suffer by them.

13. അവന് യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകനെക്കുറിച്ചു തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

13. Then, perceived the disciples, that, concerning John the Immerser, he spake to them.

14. അവര് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നാറെ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് വന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ മുട്ടുകുത്തി

14. And, when they came unto the multitude, there approached him a man, falling on his knees to him,

15. കര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ മകനോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ; അവന് ചന്ദ്രരോഗം പിടിച്ചു പലപ്പോഴും തീയിലും പലപ്പോഴും വെള്ളത്തിലും വീണു വല്ലാത്ത കഷ്ടത്തിലായ്പോകുന്നു.

15. and saying Lord! have mercy upon my son, because he is lunatic, and in a grievous condition; For, many times, falleth he into the fire, and, many times, into the water.

16. ഞാന് അവനെ നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; എന്നാല് സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തുവാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. And I brought him unto thy disciples, and they could not cure, him.

17. അതിന്നു യേശു“അവിശ്വാസവും കോട്ടവുമുള്ള തലമുറയേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കും? എത്രത്തോളം നിങ്ങളെ സഹിക്കും? അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞഞു.

17. And Jesus, answering, said O faithless and perverted generation! How long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me, here.

18. And Jesus rebuked it; and the demon came out of him, and cured was the boy, from that hour.

19. പിന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സ്വകാര്യമായി യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കൂടാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. Then, the disciples, coming near, to Jesus, privately, said Wherefore could, we, not cast it out?

20. അവന് അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളുടെ അല്പവിശ്വാസം നിമിത്തമത്രേ;

20. And, he, saith unto them Because of your little faith. For, verily, I say unto you If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say to this mountain, remove hence yonder; and it shall be removed, and, nothing, shall be impossible to you.

21. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കടുകുമണിയോളം വിശ്വാസമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഈ മലയോടുഇവിടെ നിന്നു അങ്ങോട്ടു നീങ്ങുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് അതു നീങ്ങും; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒന്നും അസാദ്ധ്യമാകയുമില്ല.” (എങ്കിലും പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയാലും ഉപവാസത്താലുമല്ലാതെ ഈ ജാതി നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നില്ല) എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. അവര് ഗലീലയില് സഞ്ചരിക്കുമ്പോള് യേശു അവരോടു“മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടുവാറായിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. And, as they were being gathered together in Galilee, Jesus said unto them The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men;

23. അവര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നാം നാള് അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും ചെയ്യും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരോ ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു.

23. And they will slay him, and, on the third day, will he, arise. And they were grieved exceedingly.

24. അവര് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമില് എത്തിയാറെ ദ്വിദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം വാങ്ങുന്നവര് പത്രൊസിന്റെ അടക്കല് വന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു ദ്വിദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം കൊടുക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഉവ്വു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And, when they came into Capernaum, they who, the half shekel, were receiving, came near unto Peter, and said, Your teacher, doth he not pay the half shekel?

25. അവന് വീട്ടില് വന്നപ്പോള് യേശു അവനോടു“ശിമോനേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാര് ചുങ്കമോ കരമോ ആരോടു വാങ്ങുന്നു? പുത്രന്മാരോടോ അന്യരോടോ” എന്നു മുന്നിട്ടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅന്യരോടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. He saith Yea. And, coming into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, How, to thee, doth it seem, Simon? The kings of the earth, of whom receive they dues or tax? from their sons, or from the aliens?

26. യേശു അവനോടു“എന്നാല് പുത്രന്മാര് ഒഴിവുള്ളവരല്ലോ.

26. And, when he said, From the aliens, Jesus said unto him, Well then, free, are the sons!

27. എങ്കിലും നാം അവര്ക്കും ഇടര്ച്ച വരുത്താതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ കടലീലേക്കു ചെന്നു ചൂണ്ടല് ഇട്ടു ആദ്യം കിട്ടുന്ന മീനിനെ എടുക്ക; അതിന്റെ വായ് തുറക്കുമ്പോള് ഒരു ചതുര്ദ്രഹ്മപ്പണം കാണും; അതു എടുത്തു എനിക്കും നിനക്കും വേണ്ടി കൊടുക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. But, that we may not cause them to stumble, go unto the sea, and cast in a hook, and, the first fish that cometh up, take, and, opening its mouth, thou shalt find a shekel, that, take, and give to them for me and thee.
