1. പുലര്ച്ചെക്കു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരും എല്ലാം യേശുവിനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് കൂടിവിചാരിച്ചു,

1. When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus, so as to put Him to death.

2. അവനെ ബന്ധിച്ചു കെണ്ടുപോയി നാടുവാഴിയായ പീലാത്തൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

2. And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

3. അവനെ ശിക്ഷെക്കു വിധിച്ചു എന്നു അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത യൂദാ കണ്ടു അനുതപിച്ചു, ആ മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കല് മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു

3. Then Judas, the [one] betraying Him, seeing that He was condemned, feeling regret, returned the thirty silver [coins] to the chief priests and elders,

4. ഞാന് കുററമില്ലാത്ത രക്തത്തെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തതിനാല് പാപം ചെയ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു? നീ തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ക എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. saying, 'I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.' And they said, 'What is [that] to us? You see to it!'

5. അവന് ആ വെള്ളിക്കാശ് മന്ദിരത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞു, ചെന്നു കെട്ടിഞാന്നു ചത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.

5. And throwing the silver [coins] in the sanctuary, he departed; and going away, he hanged himself.

6. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര് ആ വെള്ളിക്കാശ് എടുത്തുഇതു രക്തവിലയാകയാല് ശ്രീഭണ്ഡാരത്തില് ഇടുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചു,

6. But the chief priests, taking the silver [coins] said, 'It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since they are the price of blood.'

7. പരദേശികളെ കുഴിച്ചിടുവാന് അതുകൊണ്ടു കുശവന്റെ നിലം വാങ്ങി.

7. And taking counsel, they bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

8. ആകയാല് ആ നിലത്തിന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ രക്തനിലം എന്നു പേര് പറയുന്നു.

8. Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.

9. “യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് വിലമതിച്ചവന്റെ വിലയായ മുപ്പതു വെള്ളിക്കാശു അവര് എടുത്തു,

9. Then was fulfilled the thing spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 'And they took the thirty [coins], the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the sons of Israel priced,

10. and they gave them for the potter's field, as the LORD directed me.'

11. Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, 'Are You the King of the Jews?' So Jesus said to him, 'It is as you say.'

12. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുകയില് അവന് ഒന്നും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

12. And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

13. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുഇവര് നിന്റെ നേരെ എന്തെല്ലാം സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു എന്നു കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

13. Then Pilate said to Him, 'Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?'

14. അവന് ഒരു വാക്കിന്നും ഉത്തരം പറയായ്കയാല് നാടുവാഴി അത്യന്തം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
യെശയ്യാ 53:7

14. And He answered him not one word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

15. എന്നാല് ഉത്സവസമയത്തു പുരുഷാരം ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്ന ഒരു തടവുകാരനെ നാടുവാഴി വിട്ടയക്കപതിവായിരുന്നു.

15. Now at the feast, the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner whom they wished.

16. അന്നു ബറബ്ബാസ് എന്ന ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടോരു തടവുകാരന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

16. And they had then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.

17. അവര് കൂടിവന്നപ്പോള് പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുബറബ്ബാസിനെയോ, ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പറയുന്ന യേശുവിനെയോ, ആരെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിട്ടുതരേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. Therefore when they had assembled, Pilate said to them, 'Whom do you wish [that] I should release to you, Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?'

18. അവര് അസൂയകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവനെ ഏല്പിച്ചതു എന്നു അവന് ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.

18. For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.

19. അവന് ന്യായാസനത്തില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ ആളയച്ചുആ നീതിമാന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് ഇടപെടരുതു; അവന് നിമിത്തം ഞാന് ഇന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തില് വളരെ കഷ്ടം സഹിച്ചു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

19. Now as he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, 'Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.'

20. എന്നാല് ബറബ്ബാസിനെ ചോദിപ്പാനും യേശുവിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പുരുഷാരത്തെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു.

20. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask for Barabbas, but they should destroy Jesus.

21. നാടുവാഴി അവരോടുഈ ഇരുവരില് ഏവനെ വിട്ടുതരേണമെന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ബറബ്ബാസിനെ എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

21. The governor answered and said to them, 'Which of the two do you wish me to release to you?' They said, 'Barabbas!'

22. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുഎന്നാല് ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന യേശുവിനെ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണം എന്നു എല്ലാവരും പറഞ്ഞു.

22. Pilate said to them, 'What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?' They all said to him, 'Let Him be crucified!'

23. അവന് ചെയ്ത ദോഷം എന്തു എന്നു അവന് ചോദിച്ചു. അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്കേണം എന്നു അവര് ഏറ്റവും നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Then the governor said, 'Why, what evil did He do?' But they cried out all the more, saying, 'Let Him be crucified!'

24. ആരവാരം അധികമാകുന്നതല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് കണ്ടിട്ടുവെള്ളം എടുത്തു പുരുഷാരം കാണ്കെ കൈ കഴുകിഈ നീതിമാന്റെ രക്തത്തില് എനിക്കു കുറ്റം ഇല്ല; നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather a riot was starting, taking water, he washed his hands clean in front of the crowd, saying, 'I am innocent of the blood of this just [Man]. You see to it.'

26. Then he released Barabbas to them; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

27. അനന്തരം നാടുവാഴിയുടെ പടയാളികള് യേശുവിനെ ആസ്ഥാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി പട്ടാളത്തെ എല്ലാം അവന്റെ നേരെ വരുത്തി,

27. Then the soldiers of the governor, having taken Jesus to the Praetorium, gathered the whole garrison around Him.

28. അവന്റെ വസ്ത്രം അഴിച്ചു ഒരു ചുവന്ന മേലങ്കി ധരപ്പിച്ചു.

28. And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe on Him.

29. മുള്ളുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു കിരീടം മെടഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ തലയില് വെച്ചു, വലങ്കയ്യില് ഒരു കോലും കൊടുത്തു അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് മുട്ടുകുത്തിയെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!'

30. പിന്നെ അവന്റെമേല് തുപ്പി, കോല് എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയില് അടിച്ചു.

30. And spitting on Him, they took the reed and were striking [Him] on His head.

31. അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചുതീര്ന്നപ്പോള് മേലങ്കി നീക്കി അവന്റെ സ്വന്തവസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു, ക്രൂശിപ്പാന് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

31. And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the robe, and dressed Him in His own clothes, and led Him away in order to crucify [Him].

32. അവര് പോകുമ്പോള് ശീമോന് എന്നു പേരുള്ള കുറേനക്കാരനെ കണ്ടു, അവന്റെ ക്രൂശ് ചുമപ്പാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു.

32. And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they pressed into service that he might carry His cross.

33. തലയോടിടം എന്നര്ത്ഥമുള്ള ഗൊല്ഗോഥാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു കൈപ്പു കലക്കിയ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു;

33. And coming to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull,

34. അതു രുചിനോക്കിയാറെ അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് മനസ്സായില്ല.

34. they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But having tasted it, He would not drink.

35. And having crucified Him, they divided His clothes among themselves, casting lots.

37. And they put up over His head the crime having been written [against] Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

38. Then they crucified two thieves with Him, one on His right, and another on His left.

39. And those passing by were blaspheming Him, shaking their heads

40. മന്ദിരം പൊളിച്ചു മൂന്നു നാള് കൊണ്ടു പണിയുന്നവനേ, നിന്നെത്തന്നേ രക്ഷിക്ക; ദൈവപുത്രന് എങ്കില് ക്രൂശില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

40. and saying, 'You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.'

41. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പരിഹസിച്ചു

41. Likewise the chief priests also, mocking [Him] with the scribes and elders, and Pharisees, said,

42. ഇവന് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു, തന്നെത്താന് രക്ഷിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല; അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു ആകുന്നു എങ്കില് ഇപ്പോള് ക്രൂശില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരട്ടെ; എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള് അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കും.

42. He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on Him.

43. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He'll [have] Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.''

44. Even the thieves who were crucified with Him were reviling Him with the same [insult].

45. Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour, darkness came upon all the land.

46. ഏകദേശം ഒമ്പതാംമണി നേരത്തു യേശു“ഏലീ, ഏലീ, ലമ്മാ ശബക്താനി” എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു; “എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ കൈവിട്ടതു എന്തു” എന്നര്ത്ഥം.

46. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, 'Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?' that is, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?'

47. അവിടെ നിന്നിരുന്നവരില് ചിലര് അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു; അവന് ഏലീയാവെ വിളിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Some of those standing [by], when they heard this, said, 'This [Man] is calling Elijah!'

48. Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, and filled it with sour wine and put it around a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.

49. ശേഷമുള്ളവര്നില്ക്ക; ഏലീയാവു അവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് വരുമോ എന്നു നോക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

49. But the rest said, 'Leave [Him] alone; let us see if Elijah is coming to save Him.'

50. യേശു പിന്നെയും ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.

50. But Jesus, again crying out with a loud voice, released His spirit.

51. അപ്പോള് മന്ദിരത്തിലെ തിരശ്ശില മേല്തൊട്ടു അടിയോളം രണ്ടായി ചീന്തിപ്പോയി;
പുറപ്പാടു് 26:31-35

51. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split,

52. and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had passed away were raised;

53. and coming forth out of the tombs after His resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.

54. So when the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were greatly afraid, saying, 'Truly this was the Son of God!'

55. ഗലീലയില് നിന്നു യേശുവിനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അനുഗമിച്ചുവന്ന പല സ്ത്രീകളും ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

55. And there were many women there observing from a distance, who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to Him,

56. അവരില് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും യാക്കോബിന്റെയും യോസെയുടെയും അമ്മയായ മറിയയും സെബെദിപുത്രന്മാരുടെ അമ്മയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

56. among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

57. സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോള് അരിമഥ്യക്കാരനായ യോസേഫ് എന്ന ധനവാന് താനും യേശുവിന്റെ ശിഷ്യനായിരിക്കയാല് വന്നു,

57. Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

58. പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു; പീലത്തൊസ് അതു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

58. This [man] went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him.

59. യോസേഫ് ശരീരം എടുത്തു നിര്മ്മലശീലയില് പൊതിഞ്ഞു,

59. And taking the body, Joseph wrapped it up in a clean linen cloth,

60. താന് പാറയില് വെട്ടിച്ചിരുന്ന തന്റെ പുതിയ കല്ലറയില് വെച്ചു കല്ലറയുടെ വാതില്ക്കല് ഒരു വലിയ കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിവെച്ചിട്ടു പോയി.

60. and placed it in his new tomb which he had cut in the rock; and having rolled a large stone [against] the door of the tomb, he departed.

61. കല്ലറെക്കു എതിരെ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും മറ്റെ മറിയയും ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

61. And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the grave.

62. ഒരുക്കനാളിന്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുകൂടി

62. On the next day, which is after the Preparation [Day], the chief priests and Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,

63. യജമാനനേ, ആ ചതിയന് ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്മൂന്നുനാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്രകാരം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ഔര്മ്മ വന്നു.

63. saying, 'Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while He was still alive, 'After three days I will rise.'

64. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ചെന്നു അവനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു, അവന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പറകയും ഒടുവിലത്തെ ചതിവു മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വിഷമമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മൂന്നാം നാള്വരെ കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാന് കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

64. Therefore command that the grave be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him, and say to the people, 'He was raised from the dead.' So the last deception will be worse [than] the first.'

65. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുകാവല്ക്കൂട്ടത്തെ തരാം; പോയി നിങ്ങളാല് ആകുന്നെടത്തോളം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

65. Pilate said to them, 'You have a guard; go make it as secure as you know [how].'

66. അവര് ചെന്നു കല്ലിന്നു മുദ്രവെച്ചു കാവല്ക്കൂട്ടത്തെ നിറുത്തി കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കി.

66. So they went and secured the grave, sealing the stone, with the guard.
