1. പെസഹപെരുനാളിന്നു മുമ്പെ താന് ഈ ലോകം വിട്ടു പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോകുവാനുള്ള നാഴിക വന്നു എന്നു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു, ലോകത്തില് തനിക്കുള്ളവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ അവസാനത്തോളം അവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

1. Before the feast of ester whe Iesus knewe that his houre was come that he shuld departe out of this worlde vnto the father. When he loved his which were in the worlde vnto the ende he loved the.

2. അത്താഴം ആയപ്പോള് പിശാചു, ശിമോന്റെ മകനായ യൂദാ ഈസ്കര്യോത്തവിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് തോന്നിച്ചിരുന്നു;

2. And when supper was ended after that the devyll had put in the hert of Iudas Iscariot Simos sonne to betraye him:

3. പിതാവു സകലവും തന്റെ കയ്യില് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും താന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു വന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോകുന്നു എന്നും യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ

3. Iesus knowinge that the father had geve all thinges into his hondes. And that he was come from God and went to God

4. അത്താഴത്തില് നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു വസ്ത്രം ഊരിവെച്ചു ഒരു തുവര്ത്തു എടുത്തു അരയില് ചുറ്റി

4. he rose from supper and layde a syde his vpper garmentes and toke a towell and gyrd him selfe.

5. ഒരു പാത്രത്തില് വെള്ളം പകര്ന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കാല് കഴുകുവാനും അരയില് ചുറ്റിയിരുന്ന തുണികൊണ്ടു തുവര്ത്തുവാനും തുടങ്ങി.

5. After that poured he water into a basyn and beganne to wash his disciples fete and to wype them with the towell wherwith he was gyrde.

6. അവന് ശിമോന് പത്രൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നപ്പോള് അവന് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ കാല് കഴുകുന്നുവോ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. Then came he to Simon Peter. And Peter sayde to him: Lorde shalt thou wesshe my fete?

7. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു നീ ഇപ്പോള് അറിയുന്നില്ല; പിന്നെ അറിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

7. Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: what I do thou wotest not now but thou shalt knowe herafter.

8. നീ ഒരുനാളും എന്റെ കാല് കഴുകുകയില്ല എന്നു പത്രൊസ് പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു യേശുഞാന് നിന്നെ കഴുകാഞ്ഞാല് നിനക്കു എന്നോടുകൂടെ പങ്കില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ്

8. Peter sayd vnto him: thou shalt not wesshe my fete whill ye worlde stondeth. Iesus answered him: yf I wasshe ye not thou shalt have no part with me.

9. കര്ത്താവേ, എന്റെ കാല് മാത്രമല്ല കയ്യും തലയും കൂടെ കഴുകേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Simon Peter sayde vnto him: Lorde not my fete only: but also my handes and my heed.

10. യേശു അവനോടുകുളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു കാല് അല്ലാതെ കഴുകുവാന് ആവശ്യം ഇല്ല; അവന് മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവന് ; നിങ്ങള് ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവര് ആകുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും അല്ലതാനും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. Iesus sayde to him: he that is wesshed nedeth not save to wesshe his fete and is clene every whit. And ye are clene: but not all.

11. തന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവനെ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടത്രേ എല്ലാവരും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു.

11. For he knewe his betrayer. Therfore sayde he: ye are not all clene.

12. അവന് അവരുടെ കാല് കഴുകീട്ടു വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു വീണ്ടും ഇരുന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവോ?

12. After he had wesshed their fete and receaved his clothes and was set doune agayne he sayde vnto them? wot ye what I have done to you?

13. നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ ഗുരുവെന്നും കര്ത്താവെന്നും വിളിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് അങ്ങനെ ആകകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു ശരി.

13. Ye call me master and Lorde and ye saye well for so am I.

14. കര്ത്താവും ഗുരുവുമായ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ കാല് കഴുകി എങ്കില് നിങ്ങളും തമ്മില് തമ്മില് കാല് കഴുകേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

14. If I then youre Lorde and master have wesshed youre fete ye also ought to wesshe one anothers fete.

15. ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. For I have geven you an ensample that ye shuld do as I have done to you.

16. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുദാസന് യജമാനനെക്കാള് വലിയവന് അല്ല; ദൂതന് തന്നെ അയച്ചവനെക്കാള് വലിയവനുമല്ല.

16. Verely verely I saye vnto you the servaunt is not greater then his master nether the messenger greater then he that sent him.

17. ഇതു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു എങ്കില് ചെയ്താല് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

17. If ye vnderstonde these thinges happy are ye yf ye do them.

18. നിങ്ങളെ എല്ലാവരെയും കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നില്ല; ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവരെ ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; എന്നാല് “എന്റെ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവന് എന്റെ നേരെ കുതികാല് ഉയര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു നിവൃത്തി വരേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

18. I speake not of you all I knowe whom I have chosen. But that ye scripture be fulfilled: he that eateth breed wt me hath lyfte vp his hele agaynste me.

19. അതു സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് തന്നേ മശീഹ എന്നു നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് അതു സംഭവിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 43:10

19. Now tell I you before it come: that when it is come to passe ye might beleve that I am he.

20. ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുഞാന് അയക്കുന്നവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവന് എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവന് എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

20. Verely verely I saye vnto you. He that receaveth who soever I sende receaveth me. And he that receaveth me receaveth him that sent me.

21. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു യേശു ഉള്ളം കലങ്ങിആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുനിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന് എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. When Iesus had thus sayd he was troubled in the sprete and testified sayinge: verely verely I saye vnto you that one of you shall betraye me.

22. ഇതു ആരെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സംശയിച്ചു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് നോക്കി.

22. And then the disciples loked one on another doutinge of who he spake.

23. ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് വെച്ചു യേശു സ്നേഹിച്ച ഒരുത്തന് യേശുവിന്റെ മാര്വ്വിടത്തു ചാരിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

23. Ther was one of his disciples which leaned on Iesus bosome whom Iesus loved.

24. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ് അവനോടു ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടി, അവന് പറഞ്ഞതു ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിപ്പാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

24. To him beckened Simo Peter that he shuld axe who it was of whom he spake.

25. അവന് യേശുവിന്റെ നെഞ്ചോടു ചാഞ്ഞുകര്ത്താവേ, അതു ആര് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

25. He then as he leaned on Iesus brest sayde vnto him: Lorde who ys it?

26. ഞാന് അപ്പഖണ്ഡംമുക്കി കൊടുക്കുന്നവന് തന്നേ എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; ഖണ്ഡം മുക്കി ശിമോന് ഈസ്കര്യ്യോത്താവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂദെക്കു കൊടുത്തു.

26. Iesus answered he yt ys to whom I geve a soppe when I have dept it. And he wet a soppe and gave it to Iudas Iscarioth Simons sonne.

27. ഖണ്ഡം വാങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ സാത്താന് അവനില് കടന്നു; യേശു അവനോടുനീ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വേഗത്തില് ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. And after the soppe Satan entred into him. Then sayd Iesus vnto him: that thou dost do quickly.

28. എന്നാല് ഇതു ഇന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുവെന്നു പന്തിയില് ഇരുന്നവരില് ആരും അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

28. That wist no ma at the table for what intent he spake vnto him.

29. പണസ്സഞ്ചി യൂദയുടെ പക്കല് ആകയാല് പെരുനാളിന്നു വേണ്ടുന്നതു മേടിപ്പാനോ ദരിദ്രര്ക്കും വല്ലതും കൊടുപ്പാനോ യേശു അവനോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലര്ക്കും തോന്നി.

29. Some of the thought because Iudas had the bagge that Iesus had sayd vnto him bye those thinges that we have nede af agaynst ye feast: or that he shulde geve some thinge to the poore.

30. ഖണ്ഡം വാങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റുപോയി, അപ്പോള് രാത്രി ആയിരുന്നു.

30. Assone then as he had receaved the soppe he wet immediatly out. And it was night.

31. അവന് പോയശേഷം യേശു പറഞ്ഞതുഇപ്പോള് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മഹത്വപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവവും അവനില് മഹത്വപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു;

31. Whe he was gone out Iesus sayde: now is the sonne of man glorified. And God is glorified by him.

32. ദൈവം അവനില് മഹത്വപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ദൈവം അവനെ തന്നില് തന്നേ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും; ക്ഷണത്തില് അവനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും.

32. Yf God be glorified by him God shall also glorify him in him selfe: and shall strayght waye glorify him.

33. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ, ഞാന് ഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു മാത്രം നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും; ഞാന് പോകുന്ന ഇടത്തു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വരുവാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളോടും പറയുന്നു.

33. Deare chyldren yet a lytell whyle am I with you. Ye shall seke me and as I sayde vnto the Iewes whither I goo thither can ye not come. Also to you saye I nowe.

34. നിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നു പുതിയോരു കല്പന ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തരുന്നു; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മില് തമ്മില് സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നു തന്നേ.

34. A newe commaundment geve I vnto you that ye love to gedder as I have loved you that even so ye love one another

35. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് സ്നേഹം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാര് എന്നു എല്ലാവരും അറിയും.

35. 35. By this shall all me knowe yt ye are my disciples yf ye shall have love one to another.

36. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ എവിടെ പോകന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന് പോകുന്ന ഇടത്തേക്കു നിനക്കു ഇപ്പോള് എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല; പിന്നെത്തേതില് നീ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കും എന്നു യേശു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

36. Simon Peter sayd vnto him: Lorde whither goest thou? Iesus answered him: whither I goo thou canst not folowe me now but thou shalt folowe me afterwardes.

37. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുകര്ത്താവേ, ഇപ്പോള് എനിക്കു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാന് കഴിയാത്തതു എന്തു? ഞാന് എന്റെ ജീവനെ നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി വെച്ചുകളയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Peter sayd vnto him: Lorde why canot I folowe the now? I will geve my lyfe for thy sake?

38. അതിന്നു യേശുനിന്റെ ജീവനെ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി വെച്ചുകളയുമോ? ആമേന് , ആമേന് , ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നുനീ മൂന്നു പ്രവശ്യം എന്നെ തള്ളിപ്പറയുവോളം കോഴി ക്കുകുകയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

38. Iesus answered him: wilt thou geve thy lyfe for my sake? Verely verely I saye vnto the the cocke shall not crowe tyll thou have denyed me thryse.
