1. ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തില് ഒന്നാം നാള് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ രാവിലെ ഇരുട്ടുള്ളപ്പോള് തന്നേ കല്ലറെക്കല് ചെന്നു കല്ലറവായ്ക്കല് നിന്നു കല്ലു നീങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

1. Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Miryam from Magdala went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.

2. അവള് ഔടി ശിമോന് പത്രൊസിന്റെയും യേശുവിന്നു പ്രിയനായ മറ്റെ ശിഷ്യന്റെയും അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുകര്ത്താവിനെ കല്ലറയില് നിന്നു എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവനെ എവിടെ വെച്ചു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു;

2. So she came running to Shim'on Kefa and the other [talmid], the one Yeshua loved, and said to them, 'They've taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they've put him!'

3. അതുകൊണ്ടു പത്രൊസും മറ്റെ ശിഷ്യനും പുറപ്പെട്ടു കല്ലറെക്കല് ചെന്നു.

3. Then Kefa and the other [talmid] started for the tomb.

4. ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിച്ചു ഔടി; മറ്റെ ശിഷ്യന് പത്രൊസിനെക്കാള് വേഗത്തില് ഔടി ആദ്യം കല്ലെറക്കല് എത്തി;

4. They both ran, but the other [talmid] outran Kefa and reached the tomb first.

5. കുനിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി ശീലകള് കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അകത്തു കടന്നില്ലതാനും.

5. Stooping down, he saw the linen burial-sheets lying there but did not go in.

6. അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ശിമോന് പത്രൊസും വന്നു കല്ലറയില് കടന്നു

6. Then, following him, Shim'on Kefa arrived, entered the tomb and saw the burial-sheets lying there,

7. ശീലകള് കിടക്കുന്നതും അവന്റെ തലയില് ചുറ്റിയിരുന്നറൂമാല് ശീലകളോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കാതെ വേറിട്ടു ഒരിടത്തു ചുരുട്ടി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.

7. also the cloth that had been around his head, lying not with the sheets but in a separate place and still folded up.

8. ആദ്യം കല്ലെറക്കല് എത്തിയ മറ്റെ ശിഷ്യനും അപ്പോള് അകത്തു ചെന്നു കണ്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

8. Then the other [talmid], who had arrived at the tomb first, also went in; he saw, and he trusted.

9. അവന് മരിച്ചവരില് നിന്നു ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തു അവര് അതുവരെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

9. (They had not yet come to understand that the [Tanakh] teaches that the Messiah has to rise from the dead.)

10. So the [talmidim] returned home,

11. എന്നാല് മറിയ കല്ലെറക്കല് പുറത്തു കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നിന്നു. കരയുന്നിടയില് അവള് കല്ലറയില് കുനിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി.

11. but Miryam stood outside crying. As she cried, she bent down, peered into the tomb,

12. യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കിടന്നിരുന്ന ഇടത്തു വെള്ളവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു ദൂതന്മാര് ഒരുത്തന് തലെക്കലും ഒരുത്തന് കാല്ക്കലും ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

12. and saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Yeshua had been, one at the head and one at the feet.

13. അവര് അവളോടുസ്ത്രീയേ, നീ കരയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്റെ കര്ത്താവിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവനെ എവിടെ വെച്ചു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവള് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. 'Why are you crying?' they asked her. 'They took my Lord,' she said to them, 'and I don't know where they have put him.'

14. As she said this, she turned around and saw Yeshua standing there, but she didn't know it was he.

15. Yeshua said to her, 'Lady, why are you crying? Whom are you looking for?' Thinking he was the gardener, she said to him, 'Sir, if you're the one who carried him away, just tell me where you put him; and I'll go and get him myself.'

16. യേശു അവളോടുമറിയയേ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവള് തിരിഞ്ഞു എബ്രായഭാഷയില്റബ്ബൂനി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു;

16. Yeshua said to her, 'Miryam!' Turning, she cried out to him in Hebrew, '[Rabbani]!' (that is, 'Teacher!')

17. അതിന്നു ഗുരു എന്നര്ത്ഥം. യേശു അവളോടുഎന്നെ തൊടരുതു; ഞാന് ഇതുവരെ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കയറിപ്പോയില്ല; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുഎന്റെ പിതാവും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവും എന്റെ ദൈവവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവവുമായവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഞാന് കയറിപ്പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Stop holding onto me,' Yeshua said to her, 'because I haven't yet gone back to the Father. But go to my brothers, and tell them that I am going back to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'

18. മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയ വന്നു താന് കര്ത്താവിനെ കണ്ടു എന്നും അവന് ഇങ്ങനെ തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

18. Miryam of Magdala went to the [talmidim] with the news that she had seen the Lord and that he had told her this.

19. ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം നാള് ആയ ആ ദിവസം, നേരംവൈകിയപ്പോള് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ഇരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പേടിച്ചു വാതില് അടെച്ചിരിക്കെ യേശു വന്നു നടുവില് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. In the evening that same day, the first day of the week, when the [talmidim] were gathered together behind locked doors out of fear of the Judeans, Yeshua came, stood in the middle and said, '[Shalom] [aleikhem]!'

20. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് കയ്യും വിലാപ്പുറവും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു; കര്ത്താവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

20. Having greeted them, he showed them his hands and his side. The [talmidim] were overjoyed to see the Lord.

21. യേശു പിന്നെയും അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം; പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചതുപോലെ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെ അയക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. [Shalom aleikhem]!' Yeshua repeated. 'Just as the Father sent me, I myself am also sending you.'

22. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവന് അവരുടെമേല് ഊതി അവരോടുപരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ കൈക്കൊള്വിന് .

22. Having said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the [Ruach HaKodesh]!

23. ആരുടെ പാപങ്ങള് നിങ്ങള് മോചിക്കുന്നവോ അവര്ക്കും മോചിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ആരുടെ പാപങ്ങള് നിര്ത്തുന്നുവോ അവര്ക്കും നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. If you forgive someone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you hold them, they are held.'

24. എന്നാല് യേശു വന്നപ്പോള് പന്തിരുവരില് ഒരുവനായ ദിദിമൊസ് എന്ന തോമാസ് അവരോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

24. Now T'oma (the name means 'twin'), one of the Twelve, was not with them when Yeshua came.

25. മറ്റേ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുഞങ്ങള് കര്ത്താവിനെ കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാറെഞാന് അവന്റെ കൈകളില് ആണിപ്പഴുതു കാണുകയും ആണിപ്പഴുതില് വിരല് ഇടുകയും അവന്റെ വിലാപ്പുറത്തു കൈ ഇടുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. When the other [talmidim] told him, 'We have seen the Lord,' he replied, 'Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, put my finger into the place where the nails were and put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe it.'

26. എട്ടു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പിന്നെയും അകത്തു കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോള് തോമാസും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. വാതില് അടെച്ചിരിക്കെ യേശു വന്നു നടുവില് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. A week later his [talmidim] were once more in the room, and this time T'oma was with them. Although the doors were locked, Yeshua came, stood among them and said, '[Shalom aleikhem]!'

27. പിന്നെ തോമാസിനോടുനിന്റെ വിരല് ഇങ്ങോട്ടു നീട്ടി എന്റെ കൈകളെ കാണ്ക; നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടി എന്റെ വിലാപ്പുറത്തു ഇടുക; അവിശ്വാസി ആകാതെ വിശ്വാസിയായിരിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. Then he said to T'oma, 'Put your finger here, look at my hands, take your hand and put it into my side. Don't be lacking in trust, but have trust!'

28. തോമാസ് അവനോടുഎന്റെ കര്ത്താവും എന്റെ ദൈവവും ആയുള്ളോവേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

28. T'oma answered him, 'My Lord and my God!'

29. യേശു അവനോടുനീ എന്നെ കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു; കാണാതെ വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Yeshua said to him, 'Have you trusted because you have seen me? How blessed are those who do not see, but trust anyway!'

30. ഈ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതല്ലാതെ മറ്റു അനേകം അടയാളങ്ങളും യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് കാണ്കെ ചെയ്തു.

30. In the presence of the [talmidim] Yeshua performed many other miracles which have not been recorded in this book.

31. എന്നാല് യേശു ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുഎന്നു നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും വിശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ജീവന് ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന്നും ഇതു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. But these which have been recorded are here so that you may trust that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by this trust you may have life because of who he is.
