1. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യേശു ഗലീലയില് സഞ്ചരിച്ചു; യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചതു കൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദ്യയില് സഞ്ചരിപ്പാന് അവന്നു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു.

1. AFTER THIS, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee, for He would not travel in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.

2. എന്നാല് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ കൂടാരപ്പെരുനാള് അടുത്തിരുന്നു.

2. Now the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was drawing near.

3. അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് അവനോടുനീ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികളെ നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇവിടം വിട്ടു യെഹൂദ്യയിലേക്കു പോക.

3. So His brothers said to Him, Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples [there] may also see the works that You do. [This is no place for You.]

4. പ്രസിദ്ധന് ആകുവാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവന് ആരും രഹസ്യത്തില് ഒന്നും ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; നീ ഇതു ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കില് ലോകത്തിന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. For no one does anything in secret when he wishes to be conspicuous and secure publicity. If You [must] do these things [if You must act like this], show Yourself openly and make Yourself known to the world!

5. അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും അവനില് വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

5. For [even] His brothers did not believe in or adhere to or trust in or rely on Him either.

6. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്റെ സമയം ഇതുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ല; നിങ്ങള്ക്കോ എല്ലയ്പോഴും സമയം തന്നേ.

6. Whereupon Jesus said to them, My time (opportunity) has not come yet; but any time is suitable for you and your opportunity is ready any time [is always here].

7. നിങ്ങളെ പകെപ്പാന് ലോകത്തിന്നു കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; എന്നാല് അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികള് ദോഷമുള്ളവ എന്നു ഞാന് അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു അതു എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നു.

7. The world cannot [be expected to] hate you, but it does hate Me because I denounce it for its wicked works and reveal that its doings are evil.

8. നിങ്ങള് പെരുനാളിന്നു പോകുവിന് ; എന്റെ സമയം ഇതുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ഈ പെരുനാളിന്നു ഇപ്പോള് പോകുന്നില്ല.

8. Go to the Feast yourselves. I am not [yet] going up to the Festival, because My time is not ripe. [My term is not yet completed; it is not time for Me to go.]

9. ഇങ്ങനെ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഗലീലയില് തന്നേ പാര്ത്തു.

9. Having said these things to them, He stayed behind in Galilee.

10. അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് പെരുനാളിന്നു പോയശേഷം അവനും പരസ്യമായിട്ടല്ല രഹസ്യത്തില് എന്നപോലെ പോയി.

10. But afterward, when His brothers had gone up to the Feast, He went up also, not publicly [not with a caravan], but by Himself quietly and as if He did not wish to be observed.

11. എന്നാല് യെഹൂദന്മാര് പെരുനാളില്അവന് എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു അവനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു.

11. Therefore the Jews kept looking for Him at the Feast and asking, Where can He be? [Where is that Fellow?]

12. പുരുഷാരത്തില് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വളരെ കുശുകുശുപ്പു ഉണ്ടായി; അവന് നല്ലവന് എന്നു ചിലരും അല്ല, അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലരും പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And there was among the mass of the people much whispered discussion and hot disputing about Him. Some were saying, He is good! [He is a good Man!] Others said, No, He misleads and deceives the people [gives them false ideas]!

13. എങ്കിലും യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പേടിച്ചിട്ടു ആരും പ്രസിദ്ധമായി അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിച്ചില്ല

13. But no one dared speak out boldly about Him for fear of [the leaders of] the Jews.

14. പെരുനാള് പാതി കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം യേശു ദൈവാലയത്തില് ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

14. When the Feast was already half over, Jesus went up into the temple [court] and began to teach.

15. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ചെയ്യാത്ത ഇവന് ശാസ്ത്രം അറിയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് അറിയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് പറഞ്ഞു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.

15. The Jews were astonished. They said, How is it that this Man has learning [is so versed in the sacred Scriptures and in theology] when He has never studied?

16. യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ ഉപദേശം എന്റേതല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റേതത്രേ.

16. Jesus answered them by saying, My teaching is not My own, but His Who sent Me.

17. അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്വാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവന് ഈ ഉപദേശം ദൈവത്തില് നിന്നുള്ളതോ ഞാന് സ്വയമായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതോ എന്നു അറിയും.

17. If any man desires to do His will (God's pleasure), he will know (have the needed illumination to recognize, and can tell for himself) whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking from Myself and of My own accord and on My own authority.

18. സ്വയമായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നവന് സ്വന്തമഹത്വം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; തന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ മഹത്വം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവന് സത്യവാന് ആകുന്നു; നീതികേടു അവനില് ഇല്ല.

18. He who speaks on his own authority seeks to win honor for himself. [He whose teaching originates with himself seeks his own glory.] But He Who seeks the glory and is eager for the honor of Him Who sent Him, He is true; and there is no unrighteousness or falsehood or deception in Him.

19. മോശെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ന്യായപ്രമാണം തന്നിട്ടില്ലയോ? എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളില് ആരും ന്യായപ്രമാണം ആചരിക്കുന്നില്ല. നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

19. Did not Moses give you the Law? And yet not one of you keeps the Law. [If that is the truth] why do you seek to kill Me [for not keeping it]?

20. അതിന്നു പുരുഷാരംനിനക്കു ഒരു ഭൂതം ഉണ്ടു; ആര് നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

20. The crowd answered Him, You are possessed by a demon! [You are raving!] Who seeks to kill You?

21. യേശു അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് ഒരു പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്തു; അതിങ്കല് നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുന്നു.

21. Jesus answered them, I did one work, and you all are astounded. [John 5:1-9.]

22. മോശെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പരിച്ഛേദന നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കയാല്--അതു മോശെയുടെ കാലത്തല്ല പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തത്രെ തുടങ്ങിയതു--നിങ്ങള് ശബ്ബത്തില് മനുഷ്യനെ പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിക്കുന്നു.

22. Now Moses established circumcision among you--though it did not originate with Moses but with the previous patriarchs--and you circumcise a person [even] on the Sabbath day.

23. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു നീക്കം വരാതിരിപ്പാന് ശബ്ബത്തിലും മനുഷ്യന് പരിച്ഛേദന ഏലക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ഞാന് ശബ്ബത്തില് ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ മുഴുവനും സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതിനാല് എന്നോടു ഈര്ഷ്യപ്പെടുന്നുവോ?

23. If, to avoid breaking the Law of Moses, a person undergoes circumcision on the Sabbath day, have you any cause to be angry with (indignant with, bitter against) Me for making a man's whole body well on the Sabbath?

24. കാഴ്ചപ്രകാരം വിധിക്കരുതു; നീതിയുള്ള വിധി വിധിപ്പിന് .

24. Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.

25. യെരൂശലേമ്യരില് ചിലര്അവര് കൊല്ലുവാന് അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവന് ഇവന് അല്ലയോ?

25. Then some of the Jerusalem people said, Is not this the Man they seek to kill?

26. അവന് ധൈര്യത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവര് അവനോടു ഒന്നും പറയുന്നില്ല; ഇവന് ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പ്രമാണികള് യഥാര്ത്ഥമായി ഗ്രഹിച്ചുവോ?

26. And here He is speaking openly, and they say nothing to Him! Can it be possible that the rulers have discovered and know that this is truly the Christ?

27. എങ്കിലും ഇവന് എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു; ക്രിസ്തു വരുമ്പോഴോ അവന് എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു ആരും അറികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. No, we know where this Man comes from; when the Christ arrives, no one is to know from what place He comes.

28. ആകയാല് യേശു ദൈവാലയത്തില് ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോള്നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ അറിയുന്നു; ഞാന് എവിടെനിന്നെന്നും അറിയുന്നു. ഞാന് സ്വയമായിട്ടു വന്നവനല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന് സത്യവാന് ആകുന്നു; അവനെ നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ല.

28. Whereupon Jesus called out as He taught in the temple [porches], Do you know Me, and do you know where I am from? I have not come on My own authority and of My own accord and as self-appointed, but the One Who sent Me is true (real, genuine, steadfast); and Him you do not know!

29. ഞാന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നു വന്നതുകൊണ്ടും അവന് എന്നെ അയച്ചതുകൊണ്ടും ഞാന് അവനെ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

29. I know Him [Myself] because I come from His [very] presence, and it was He [personally] Who sent Me.

30. ആകയാല് അവര് അവനെ പിടിപ്പാന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ നാഴിക വന്നിട്ടില്ലായ്കയാല് ആരും അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചില്ല.

30. Therefore they were eager to arrest Him, but no one laid a hand on Him, for His hour (time) had not yet come.

31. പുരുഷാരത്തില് പലരുംക്രിസ്തു വരുമ്പോള് ഇവന് ചെയ്തതില് അധികം അടയാളം ചെയ്യുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനില് വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

31. And besides, many of the multitude believed in Him [adhered to Him, trusted in Him, relied on Him]. And they kept saying, When the Christ comes, will He do [can He be expected to do] more miracles and produce more proofs and signs than what this Man has done?

32. പുരുഷാരം അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇങ്ങനെ കുശുകുശുക്കുന്നു എന്നു പരീശന്മാര് കേട്ടാറെ അവനെ പിടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും ചേവകരെ അയച്ചു.

32. The Pharisees learned how the people were saying these things about Him under their breath; and the chief priests and Pharisees sent attendants (guards) to arrest Him.

33. യേശുവോഞാന് ഇനി കുറെനേരം നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോകുന്നു.

33. Therefore Jesus said, For a little while I am [still] with you, and then I go back to Him Who sent Me.

34. നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ലതാനും; ഞാന് ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വരുവാന് കഴികയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. You will look for Me, but you will not [be able to] find Me; where I am, you cannot come.

35. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാര്നാം കണ്ടെത്താതവണ്ണം ഇവന് എവിടേക്കു പോകുവാന് ഭാവിക്കുന്നു? യവനന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് ചിതറിപ്പാര്ക്കുംന്നവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പോയി യവനരെ ഉപദേശിപ്പാന് ഭാവമോ? നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും, എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ലതാനും; ഞാന് ഇരിക്കുന്നേടത്തു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വരുവാന് കഴികയുമില്ല എന്നു ഈ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു എന്തു എന്നു തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

35. Then the Jews said among themselves, Where does this Man intend to go that we shall not find Him? Will He go to the Jews who are scattered in the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

36. ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ മഹാദിനമായ ഒടുക്കത്തെ നാളില് യേശുനിന്നുകൊണ്ടു ദാഹിക്കുന്നവന് എല്ലാം എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കുടിക്കട്ടെ.

36. What does this statement of His mean, You will look for Me and not be able to find Me, and, Where I am, you cannot come?

37. എന്നില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്റെ ഉള്ളില് നിന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തു പറയുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവജലത്തിന്റെ നദികള് ഒഴുകും എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!

38. He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.

39. പുരുഷാരത്തില് പലരും ആ വാക്കു കേട്ടിട്ടുഇവന് സാക്ഷാല് ആ പ്രവാചകന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

40. വേറെ ചിലര്ഇവന് ക്രിസ്തു തന്നേ എന്നും മറ്റു ചിലര്ഗലീലയില് നിന്നോ ക്രിസ്തു വരുന്നതു? ദാവീദിന്റെ സന്തതിയില് നിന്നും ദാവീദ് പാര്ത്ത ഗ്രാമമായ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമില്നിന്നും ക്രിസ്തു വരുന്നു എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തു പറയുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Others said, This is the Christ (the Messiah, Anointed One)! But some said, What? Does the Christ come out of Galilee?

43. So there arose a division and dissension among the people concerning Him.

44. ഈ മനുഷ്യന് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല എന്നു ചേവകര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

44. Some of them wanted to arrest Him, but no one [ventured and] laid hands on Him.

45. പരീശന്മാര് അവരോടുനിങ്ങളും തെറ്റിപ്പോയോ?

45. Meanwhile the attendants (guards) had gone back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, Why have you not brought Him here with you?

46. പ്രമാണികളില് ആകട്ടെ പരീശന്മാരില് ആകട്ടെ ആരെങ്കിലും അവനില് വിശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

46. The attendants replied, Never has a man talked as this Man talks! [No mere man has ever spoken as He speaks!]

47. ന്യായപ്രമാണം അറിയാത്ത പുരുഷാരമോ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരാകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

47. The Pharisees said to them, Are you also deluded and led astray? [Are you also swept off your feet?]

48. അവരില് ഒരുത്തനായി, മുമ്പെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നിരുന്ന നിക്കൊദേമൊസ് അവരോടു

48. Has any of the authorities or of the Pharisees believed in Him?

49. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വാമൊഴി ആദ്യം കേട്ടു, അവന് ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടല്ലാതെ നമ്മുടെ ന്യായ പ്രമാണം അവനെ വിധിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

49. As for this multitude (rabble) that does not know the Law, they are contemptible and doomed and accursed!

50. അവര് അവനോടുനീയും ഗലീലക്കാരനോ? പരിശോധിച്ചുനോക്കുക; ഗലീലയില് നിന്നു പ്രവാചകന് എഴുന്നേലക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

50. Then Nicodemus, who came to Jesus before at night and was one of them, asked,

51. അങ്ങനെ ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടില് പോയി.
