2. Paul was called, and Tertullus opened for the prosecution, 'Your Excellency, Felix, the unbroken peace we enjoy and the reforms this nation owes to your foresight

3. രാജശ്രീ ഫേലിക്സേ, നീമുഖാന്തരം ഞങ്ങള് വളരെ സമാധാനം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ പരിപാലനത്താല് ഈ ജാതിക്കു ഏറിയ ഗുണീകരണങ്ങള് സാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും ഞങ്ങള് എപ്പോഴും എല്ലായിടത്തും പൂര്ണ്ണനന്ദിയോടും കൂടെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു.

3. are matters we accept, always and everywhere, with all gratitude.

4. എങ്കിലും നിന്നെ അധികം അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തരുത് എന്നുവെച്ചു ക്ഷമയോടെ ചുരുക്കത്തില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അന്യായം കേള്ക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

4. I do not want to take up too much of your time, but I urge you in your graciousness to give us a brief hearing.

5. ഈ പുരുഷന് ഒരു ബാധയും ലോകത്തിലുള്ള സകല യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെയും ഇടയില് കലഹമുണ്ടാക്കുന്നവനും നസറായമതത്തിന്നു മുമ്പനും എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. We have found this man a perfect pest; he stirs up trouble among Jews the world over and is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect.

6. അവന് ദൈവാലയം തീണ്ടിപ്പാനും ശ്രമിച്ചു. അവനെ ഞങ്ങള് പിടിച്ചു (ഞങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം വിസ്തരിപ്പാന് വിചാരിച്ചു.

6. He has even attempted to profane the Temple. We placed him under arrest.

7. എങ്കിലും സഹസ്രാധിപനായ ലുസിയാസ് വളരെ ബലത്തോടു വന്നു അവനെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയി.

7. 'I know that you have administered justice over this nation for many years, and I can therefore speak with confidence in my defence.

8. അവന്റെ വാദികള് നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു) നീ തന്നേ അവനെ വിസ്തരിച്ചാല് ഞങ്ങള് അന്യായം ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ സകല സംഗതികളും അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വാന് ഇടയാകും.

8. If you ask him you can find out for yourself the truth of all our accusations against this man.'

9. അതു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരും യോജിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. The Jews supported him, asserting that these were the facts.

10. സംസാരിക്കാം എന്നു ദേശാധിപതി ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടിയാറെ പൌലൊസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുഈ ജാതിക്കു നീ അനേകസംവത്സരമായി ന്യായാധിപതി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിക കെണ്ടു എന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് ഞാന് ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രതിവാദം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

10. When the governor motioned him to speak, Paul answered:

11. ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമില് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് പോയിട്ടു പന്ത്രണ്ടു നാളില് അധികമായില്ല എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാകുന്നതാകുന്നു.

11. As you can verify for yourself, it is no more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem on pilgrimage,

12. ദൈവാലയത്തിലോ പള്ളികളിലോ നഗരങ്ങളിലോവെച്ചു ആരോടും വാദിക്കയെങ്കിലും പുരുഷാരത്തില് കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യുന്നാതായി അവര് എന്നെ കണ്ടില്ല.

12. and it is not true that they ever found me arguing with anyone or stirring up the mob, either in the Temple, in the synagogues, or about the town;

13. ഇന്നു എന്റെ നേരെ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അന്യായം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ തെളിയിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും കഴിയുന്നതുമല്ല.

13. neither can they give you any proof of the accusations they are making against me now.

14. എന്നാല് ഒന്നു ഞാന് സമ്മതിക്കുന്നുമതഭേദം എന്നു ഇവര് പറയുന്ന മാര്ഗ്ഗപ്രകാരം ഞാന് പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവത്തെ ആരാധിക്കയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും വിശ്വസിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

14. 'What I do admit to you is this: it is according to the Way, which they describe as a sect, that I worship the God of my ancestors, retaining my belief in all points of the Law and in what is written in the prophets;

15. നീതിമാന്മാരുടെയും നീതികെട്ടവരുടെയും പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഇവര് കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാനും ദൈവത്തിങ്കല് ആശവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

15. and I hold the same hope in God as they do that there will be a resurrection of the upright and the wicked alike.

16. അതു കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു ദൈവത്തോടും മനുഷ്യരോടും കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത മനസ്സാക്ഷി എല്ലായ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായിരിപ്പാന് ഞാന് ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.

16. In these things, I, as much as they, do my best to keep a clear conscience at all times before God and everyone.

17. പലസംവത്സരം കൂടീട്ടു ഞാന് എന്റെ ജാതിക്കാര്ക്കും ധര്മ്മം കൊണ്ടുവരുവാനും വഴിപാടു കഴിപ്പാനും വന്നു.

17. 'After several years I came to bring relief-money to my nation and to make offerings;

18. അതു അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുമ്പോള് അവര് എന്നെ ദൈവാലയത്തില്വെച്ചു ശുദ്ധീകരണം കഴിഞ്ഞവനായി കണ്ടു; പുരുഷാരത്തോടു കൂടിയല്ല, കലഹത്തോടുകൂടിയുമല്ല.

18. it was in connection with these that they found me in the Temple; I had been purified, and there was no crowd involved, and no disturbance.

19. എന്നാല് ആസ്യക്കാരായ ചില യെഹൂദന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും എന്റെ നേരെ അന്യായം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വന്നു ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.

19. But some Jews from Asia -- these are the ones who should have appeared before you and accused me of whatever they had against me.

20. അല്ല, ഞാന് ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിലക്കുമ്പോള് മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇന്നു നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ വിസ്തരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞോരു വാക്കല്ലാതെ

20. At least let those who are present say what crime they held against me when I stood before the Sanhedrin,

21. അവിടെ വെച്ചു എന്റെ പക്കല് വല്ല കുറ്റവും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടങ്കില് ഇവര് തന്നേ പറയട്ടെ

21. unless it were to do with this single claim, when I stood up among them and called out, 'It is about the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial before you today.' '

22. ഫേലിക്സിന്നു ഈ മാര്ഗ്ഗം സംബന്ധിച്ചു സൂക്ഷ്മമായ അറിവു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടുംലുസിയാസ് സഹസ്രാധിപന് വരുമ്പോള് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യം തീര്ച്ചപ്പെടുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവധിവെച്ചു,

22. At this, Felix, who was fairly well informed about the Way, adjourned the case, saying, 'When Lysias the tribune comes down I will give judgement about your case.'

23. ശതാധിപനോടു അവനെ തടവില് തന്നേ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു ദയകാണിപ്പാനും അവന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര് അവന്നു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വിരോധിക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും കല്പിച്ചു.

23. He then gave orders to the centurion that Paul should be kept under arrest but free from restriction, and that none of his own people should be prevented from seeing to his needs.

24. കുറെനാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഫേലിക്സ് യെഹൂദ സ്ത്രീയായ തന്റെ ഭാര്യ ദ്രുസില്ലയുമായി വന്നു, പൌലൊസിനെ വരുത്തി ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അവന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു.

24. Some days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla who was a Jewess. He sent for Paul and gave him a hearing on the subject of faith in Christ Jesus.

25. എന്നാല് അവന് നീതി, ഇന്ദ്രീയജയം, വരുവാനുള്ള ന്യായവിധി എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോള് ഫേലിക്സ് ഭയപരവശനായിതല്ക്കാലം പോകാം; അവസരം ഉള്ളപ്പോള് നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

25. But when Paul began to treat of uprightness, self-control and the coming Judgement, Felix took fright and said, 'You may go for the present; I will send for you when I find it convenient.'

26. പൌലൊസ് തനിക്കു ദ്രവ്യം തരും എന്നു ആശിച്ചു പലപ്പോഴും അവനെ വരുത്തി അവനോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.

26. At the same time he had hopes of receiving money from Paul, and for this reason he sent for him frequently and had talks with him.

27. രണ്ടാണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഫേലിക്സിന്നു പിന് വാഴിയായി പൊര്ക്ക്യൊസ് ഫെസ്തൊസ് വന്നപ്പോള് ഫേലിക്സ് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പ്രീതി സമ്പാദിക്കേണം എന്നു വെച്ചു പൌലൊസിനെ തടവുകാരനായി വിട്ടേച്ചുപോയി.

27. When two years came to an end, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus and, being anxious to gain favour with the Jews, Felix left Paul in custody.
