1. ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം അവളില് ദൂഷ്യമായ വല്ലതും കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്നു അവളോടു അനിഷ്ടം തോന്നിയാല് ഒരു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതി കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തു അവളെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അയക്കേണം.

1. If a man marries a woman and she does not please him because he has found something offensive in her, then he may draw up a divorce document, give it to her, and evict her from his house.

3. If the second husband rejects her and then divorces her, gives her the papers, and evicts her from his house, or if the second husband who married her dies,

4. her first husband who divorced her is not permitted to remarry her after she has become ritually impure, for that is offensive to the LORD. You must not bring guilt on the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.

5. When a man is newly married, he need not go into the army nor be obligated in any way; he must be free to stay at home for a full year and bring joy to the wife he has married.

6. തിരികല്ലാകട്ടെ അതിന്റെ മേല്ക്കല്ലാകട്ടെ ആരും പണയം വാങ്ങരുതു; അതു ജീവനെ പണയം വാങ്ങുകയല്ലോ.

6. One must not take either lower or upper millstones as security on a loan, for that is like taking a life itself as security.

7. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഒരുത്തനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചു അവനോടു കാഠിന്യം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയോ അവനെ വിലെക്കു വില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടാല് മോഷ്ടാവു മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

7. If a man is found kidnapping a person from among his fellow Israelites, and regards him as mere property and sells him, that kidnapper must die. In this way you will purge evil from among you.

8. കുഷ്ഠരോഗത്തിന്റെ ബാധാകാര്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിപ്പാനും ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചു തരുന്നതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്വാനും ജാഗ്രതയായിരിക്കേണം; ഞാന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യേണം.

8. Be careful during an outbreak of leprosy to follow precisely all that the Levitical priests instruct you; as I have commanded them, so you should do.

9. നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വഴിയില് വെച്ചു മിര്യ്യാമിനോടു ചെയ്തതു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക.

9. Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam along the way after you left Egypt.

10. കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു എന്തെങ്കിലും വായിപ്പകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ പണയം വാങ്ങുവാന് വീട്ടിന്നകത്തു കടക്കരുതു.

10. When you make any kind of loan to your neighbor, you may not go into his house to claim what he is offering as security.

11. നീ പുറത്തു നില്ക്കേണം; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങിയവന് പണയം നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

11. You must stand outside and the person to whom you are making the loan will bring out to you what he is offering as security.

12. അവന് ദരിദ്രനാകുന്നുവെങ്കില് നീ അവന്റെ പണയം കൈവശം വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഉറങ്ങരുതു.

12. If the person is poor you may not use what he gives you as security for a covering.

13. അവന് തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം പുതെച്ചു ഉറങ്ങി നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോള് പണയം നീ അവന്നു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണം; അതു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിനക്കു നീതിയായിരിക്കും.

13. You must by all means return to him at sunset the item he gave you as security so that he may sleep in his outer garment and bless you for it; it will be considered a just deed by the LORD your God.

14. നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിലോ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശികളിലോ ദരിദ്രനും അഗതിയുമായ കൂലിക്കാരനെ നീ പീഡിപ്പിക്കരുതു.

14. You must not oppress a lowly and poor servant, whether one from among your fellow Israelites or from the resident foreigners who are living in your land and villages.

15. You must pay his wage that very day before the sun sets, for he is poor and his life depends on it. Otherwise he will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.

16. Fathers must not be put to death for what their children do, nor children for what their fathers do; each must be put to death for his own sin.

17. You must not pervert justice due a resident foreigner or an orphan, or take a widow's garment as security for a loan.

18. നീ മിസ്രയീമില് അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അവിടെനിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തു എന്നും ഔര്ക്കേണം; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഇക്കാര്യം ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു.

18. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do all this.

19. നിന്റെ വയലില് വിളവു കൊയ്തിട്ടു ഒരു കറ്റ വയലില് മറന്നുപോന്നാല് അതിനെ എടുപ്പാന് മടങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

19. Whenever you reap your harvest in your field and leave some unraked grain there, you must not return to get it; it should go to the resident foreigner, orphan, and widow so that the LORD your God may bless all the work you do.

20. ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലം തല്ലുമ്പോള് കൊമ്പു തപ്പിപ്പറിക്കരുതു; അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

20. When you beat your olive tree you must not repeat the procedure; the remaining olives belong to the resident foreigner, orphan, and widow.

21. മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ പഴം അറുത്തെടുക്കുമ്പോള് കാലാ പെറുക്കരുതു; അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണം; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഞാന് ഇക്കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു.

21. When you gather the grapes of your vineyard you must not do so a second time; they should go to the resident foreigner, orphan, and widow.
