1. ഒരു പുരുഷന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു വിവാഹം ചെയ്തശേഷം അവളില് ദൂഷ്യമായ വല്ലതും കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്നു അവളോടു അനിഷ്ടം തോന്നിയാല് ഒരു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതി കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തു അവളെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അയക്കേണം.

1. 'When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts [it] in her hand, and sends her out of his house,

2. അവന്റെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം അവള് പോയി മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷന്നു ഭാര്യയായി ഇരിക്കാം.

2. 'when she has departed from his house, and goes and becomes another man's [wife,]

3. എന്നാല് രണ്ടാമത്തെ ഭര്ത്താവു അവളെ വെറുത്തു ഒരു ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതി കയ്യില് കൊടുത്തു അവളെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അയക്കയോ അവളെ ഭാര്യയായിട്ടു എടുത്ത രണ്ടാമത്തെ ഭര്ത്താവു മരിച്ചുപോകയോ ചെയ്താല്

3. '[if] the latter husband detests her and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts [it] in her hand, and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her as his wife,

4. അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച മുമ്പിലത്തെ ഭര്ത്താവിന്നു അവള് അശുദ്ധയായശേഷം അവളെ പിന്നെയും ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൂടാ; അതു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അറെപ്പാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം നീ പാപംകൊണ്ടു മലിനമാക്കരുതു.

4. [then] her former husband who divorced her must not take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled; for that [is] an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God is giving you [as] an inheritance.

5. ഒരു പുരുഷന് പുതുതായി ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന് യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകരുതു; അവന്റെമേല് യാതൊരു ഭാരവും വെക്കരുതു; അവന് ഒരു സംവത്സരത്തേക്കു വീട്ടില് സ്വതന്ത്രനായിരുന്നു താന് പരിഗ്രഹിച്ച ഭാര്യയെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കേണം.

5. ' When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.

6. തിരികല്ലാകട്ടെ അതിന്റെ മേല്ക്കല്ലാകട്ടെ ആരും പണയം വാങ്ങരുതു; അതു ജീവനെ പണയം വാങ്ങുകയല്ലോ.

6. ' No man shall take the lower or the upper millstone in pledge, for he takes [one's] living in pledge.

7. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഒരുത്തനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചു അവനോടു കാഠിന്യം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയോ അവനെ വിലെക്കു വില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടാല് മോഷ്ടാവു മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

7. ' If a man is found kidnapping any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and mistreats him or sells him, then that kidnapper shall die; and you shall put away the evil from among you.

8. കുഷ്ഠരോഗത്തിന്റെ ബാധാകാര്യത്തില് ഏറ്റവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിപ്പാനും ലേവ്യരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചു തരുന്നതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്വാനും ജാഗ്രതയായിരിക്കേണം; ഞാന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യേണം.

8. ' Take heed in an outbreak of leprosy, that you carefully observe and do according to all that the priests, the Levites, shall teach you; just as I commanded them, [so] you shall be careful to do.

9. നിങ്ങള് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വഴിയില് വെച്ചു മിര്യ്യാമിനോടു ചെയ്തതു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക.

9. 'Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam on the way when you came out of Egypt.

10. കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു എന്തെങ്കിലും വായിപ്പകൊടുക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ പണയം വാങ്ങുവാന് വീട്ടിന്നകത്തു കടക്കരുതു.

10. ' When you lend your brother anything, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge.

11. നീ പുറത്തു നില്ക്കേണം; വായിപ്പവാങ്ങിയവന് പണയം നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരേണം.

11. 'You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you lend shall bring the pledge out to you.

12. അവന് ദരിദ്രനാകുന്നുവെങ്കില് നീ അവന്റെ പണയം കൈവശം വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഉറങ്ങരുതു.

12. 'And if the man [is] poor, you shall not keep his pledge overnight.

13. അവന് തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം പുതെച്ചു ഉറങ്ങി നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോള് പണയം നീ അവന്നു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണം; അതു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നിനക്കു നീതിയായിരിക്കും.

13. 'You shall in any case return the pledge to him again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own garment and bless you; and it shall be righteousness to you before the LORD your God.

14. നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിലോ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ള പരദേശികളിലോ ദരിദ്രനും അഗതിയുമായ കൂലിക്കാരനെ നീ പീഡിപ്പിക്കരുതു.

14. ' You shall not oppress a hired servant [who is] poor and needy, [whether] one of your brethren or one of the aliens who [is] in your land within your gates.

15. അവന്റെ കൂലി അന്നേക്കന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം; സൂര്യന് അതിന്മേല് അസ്തമിക്കരുതു; അവന് ദരിദ്രനും അതിന്നായി ആശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനുമല്ലോ. അവന് നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിപ്പാനും അതു നിനക്കു പാപമായിത്തീരുവാനും ഇടവരുത്തരുതു.

15. 'Each day you shall give [him] his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he [is] poor and has set his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to the LORD, and it be sin to you.

16. മക്കള്ക്കു പകരം അപ്പന്മാരും അപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും പകരം മക്കളും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കരുതു; താന്താന്റെ പാപത്തിന്നു താന്താന് മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

16. 'Fathers shall not be put to death for [their] children, nor shall the children be put to death for [their] fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin.

17. പരദേശിയുടെയും അനാഥന്റെയും ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയരുതു; വിധവയുടെ വസ്ഡത്രം പണയം വാങ്ങുകയുമരുതു.

17. ' You shall not pervert justice due the stranger or the fatherless, nor take a widow's garment as a pledge.

18. നീ മിസ്രയീമില് അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ അവിടെനിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തു എന്നും ഔര്ക്കേണം; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഇക്കാര്യം ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു.

18. 'But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing.

19. നിന്റെ വയലില് വിളവു കൊയ്തിട്ടു ഒരു കറ്റ വയലില് മറന്നുപോന്നാല് അതിനെ എടുപ്പാന് മടങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

19. ' When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

20. ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലം തല്ലുമ്പോള് കൊമ്പു തപ്പിപ്പറിക്കരുതു; അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

20. 'When you beat your olive trees, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow.

21. മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിലെ പഴം അറുത്തെടുക്കുമ്പോള് കാലാ പെറുക്കരുതു; അതു പരദേശിക്കും അനാഥന്നും വിധവേക്കും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; നീ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു അടിമയായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണം; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു ഞാന് ഇക്കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു.

21. 'When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean [it] afterward; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow.
