1. അന്ത്യകാലത്തു ദുര്ഘടസമയങ്ങള് വരും എന്നറിക.

1. This understand,(But this shalt thou know) that in the last days shall come parlous times:

2. മനുഷ്യര് സ്വസ്നേഹികളും വമ്പു പറയുന്നവരും അഹങ്കാരികളും ദൂഷകന്മാരും അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെ അനുസരിക്കാത്തവരും നന്ദികെട്ടവരും അശുദ്ധരും

2. For the men shall be lovers of their own selves,(men which shall hold of them selves) covetous, boasters, proud, cursed speakers, disobedient to father and mother,(their elders) unthankful, unholy,

3. വാത്സല്യമില്ലാത്തവരും ഇണങ്ങാത്തവരും ഏഷണിക്കാരും അജിതേന്ദ്രിയന്മാരും ഉഗ്രന്മാരും

3. churlish,(unkind, trucebreakers) stubborn, false accusers, rioters, fierce, despisers of them which are good,

4. സല്ഗുണദ്വേഷികളും ദ്രോഹികളും ധാര്ഷ്ട്യക്കാരും നിഗളികളുമായി

4. traitors, heady, high minded, greedy upon voluptuousness more than the lovers of God,

5. ദൈവപ്രീയമില്ലാതെ ഭോഗപ്രിയരായി ഭക്തിയുടെ വേഷം ധരിച്ചു അതിന്റെ ശക്തി ത്യജിക്കുന്നവരുമായിരിക്കും. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരെ വിട്ടൊഴിയുക.

5. having a similitude(a shine) of godly living, but have denied(but denying) the power there of.(thereof:) Such abhor.(And such avoid)

6. വീടുകളില് നൂണുകടക്കയും പാപങ്ങളെ ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു നാനാ മോഹങ്ങള്ക്കും അധീനരായി എപ്പോഴും പഠിച്ചിട്ടും ഒരിക്കലും സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിപ്പാന് കഴിയാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളെ സ്വാധീനമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര് ഈ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവര് ആകുന്നു;

6. For of this sort are they which enter into houses,(from house to house) and bring into bondage women laden with sin, which women are led of(with) divers lusts,

7. യന്നേസും യംബ്രേസും മോശെയോടു എതിര്ത്തുനിന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ ഇവരും സത്യത്തോടു മറുത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു; ദുര്ബ്ബുദ്ധികളും വിശ്വാസം സംബന്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ളരുതാത്തവരുമത്രേ.

7. ever learning, and never able to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

8. അവര് അധികം മുഴുക്കയില്ല; മേല്പറഞ്ഞവരുടെ ബുദ്ധികേടു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വെളിപ്പെട്ടതുപോലെ ഇവരുടെ ബുദ്ധികേടും വെളിപ്പെടും.

8. As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, even so do these resist the truth, men they are of corrupt minds, and lewd as concerning the faith:

9. നീയോ എന്റെ ഉപദേശം, നടപ്പു, ഉദ്ദേശം, വിശ്വാസം, ദീര്ഘക്ഷമ, സ്നേഹം, സഹിഷ്ണുത എന്നിവയും

9. but they shall prevail no longer. For their madness shall be uttered(foolishness shall be manifest) unto all men as theirs was:

10. അന്ത്യൊക്യയിലും ഇക്കൊന്യയിലും ലൂസ്ത്രയിലും എനിക്കു സംഭവിച്ച ഉപദ്രവവും കഷ്ടാനുഭവവും കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് എന്തെല്ലാം ഉപദ്രവം സഹിച്ചു; അതിലെല്ലാറ്റില് നിന്നും കര്ത്താവു എന്നെ വിടുവിച്ചു.

10. but thou hast seen the experience of my doctrine, ordinance,(fashion of living) purpose, faith, long suffering, love, patience,

11. എന്നാല് ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവില് ഭക്തിയോടെ ജീവിപ്പാന് മനസ്സുള്ളവര്ക്കും എല്ലാം ഉപദ്രവം ഉണ്ടാകും.

11. persecutions, and afflictions which happened unto me at Antioche, at Iconium, and at Lystra: which persecutions I suffered patiently; And from them all the Lord delivered me.

12. ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യരും മായാവികളും വഞ്ചിച്ചും വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു മേലക്കുമേല് ദോഷത്തില് മുതിര്ന്നു വരും.

12. Yea and all that will live godly in Christ Jesu, must suffer persecutions.

13. നീയോ ഇന്നവരോടു പഠിച്ചു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കുംകയും ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിങ്കലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താല് നിന്നെ രക്ഷെക്കു ജ്ഞാനിയാക്കുവാന് മതിയായ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ ബാല്യംമുതല് അറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കൊണ്ടു

13. But the evil men and deceivers, shall wax worse and worse, while they deceive, and are deceived themselves.(deceiving and being deceived)

14. നീ പഠിച്ചും നിശ്ചയം പ്രാപിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നതില് നിലനില്ക്ക.

14. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned, which also were committed unto thee seeing thou knowest of whom thou hast learned them.

15. എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തും ദൈവശ്വാസീയമാകയാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മനുഷ്യന് സകല സല്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും വക പ്രാപിച്ചു തികഞ്ഞവന് ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു

15. And forasmuch also as thou hast known holy scripture of a child, which(the same) is able to make thee wise unto health(salvation) thorow (the) faith, which is in Christ Jesu.

16. ഉപദേശത്തിന്നും ശാസനത്തിന്നും ഗുണീകരണത്തിന്നും നീതിയിലെ അഭ്യാസത്തിന്നും പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.

16. For all scripture given by inspiration of God, is profitable to teach, to improve, to inform,(amend) and to instruct in righteousness,
