1. വാഴ്ചകള്ക്കും അധികാരങ്ങള്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി അനുസരിപ്പാനും സകലസല്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനും

1. Remind your people to obey the rulers and authorities and not to be rebellious. They must always be ready to do something helpful

2. ആരെക്കൊണ്ടും ദൂഷണം പറയാതെയും കലഹിക്കാതെയും ശാന്തന്മാരായി സകലമനുഷ്യരോടും പൂര്ണ്ണസൌമ്യത കാണിപ്പാനും അവരെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുക.

2. and not say cruel things or argue. They should be gentle and kind to everyone.

3. മുമ്പെ നാമും ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരും അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവരും വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരും നാനാമോഹങ്ങള്ക്കും ഭോഗങ്ങള്ക്കും അധീനരും ഈര്ഷ്യയിലും അസൂയയിലും കാലം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്വേഷിതരും അന്യോന്യം പകെക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. We used to be stupid, disobedient, and foolish, as well as slaves of all sorts of desires and pleasures. We were evil and jealous. Everyone hated us, and we hated everyone.

4. എന്നാല് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയും മനുഷ്യപ്രീതിയും ഉദിച്ചപ്പോള്

4. God our Savior showed us how good and kind he is.

6. God sent Jesus Christ our Savior to give us his Spirit.

7. നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുമൂലം നമ്മുടെമേല് ധാരാളമായി പകര്ന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നവീകരണംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ.

7. Jesus treated us much better than we deserve. He made us acceptable to God and gave us the hope of eternal life.

8. ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം; ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഉത്സാഹികളായിരിപ്പാന് കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ശുഭവും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും ഉപകാരവും ആകുന്നു.

8. This message is certainly true. These teachings are useful and helpful for everyone. I want you to insist that the people follow them, so that all who have faith in God will be sure to do good deeds.

9. മൌഢ്യതര്ക്കവും വംശാവലികളും കലഹവും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാദവും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്ക. ഇവ നിഷ്പ്രയോജനവും വ്യര്ത്ഥവുമല്ലോ.

9. But don't have anything to do with stupid arguments about ancestors. And stay away from disagreements and quarrels about the Law of Moses. Such arguments are useless and senseless.

10. സഭയില് ഭിന്നത വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു ഒന്നു രണ്ടു വട്ടം ബുദ്ധി പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവനെ ഒഴിക്ക;

10. Warn troublemakers once or twice. Then don't have anything else to do with them.

11. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് വക്രബുദ്ധിയായി പാപം ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താന് കുറ്റം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ.

11. You know that their minds are twisted, and their own sins show how guilty they are.

12. ഞാന് അര്ത്തെമാസിനെയോ തിഹിക്കൊസിനെയോ അങ്ങോട്ടു അയക്കുമ്പോള് നിക്കൊപ്പൊലിസില് വന്നു എന്നോടു ചേരുവാന് ശ്രമിക്ക. അവിടെ ഞാന് ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. When Zenas the lawyer and Apollos get ready to leave, help them as much as you can, so they won't have need of anything.

14. നമുക്കുള്ളവരും ഫലമില്ലാത്തവര് ആകാതെ അത്യാവശ്യസംഗതികളില് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മുമ്പരായിരിപ്പാന് പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

14. Our people should learn to spend their time doing something useful and worthwhile.

15. എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും നിനക്കു വന്ദനം ചെല്ലുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെ വിശ്വാസത്തില് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുക. കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടെല്ലാവരോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ
