1. വാഴ്ചകള്ക്കും അധികാരങ്ങള്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങി അനുസരിപ്പാനും സകലസല്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനും

1. Pvt them in remembrance that they bee subiect to the Principalities and powers, and that they bee obedient, and ready to euery good woorke,

2. ആരെക്കൊണ്ടും ദൂഷണം പറയാതെയും കലഹിക്കാതെയും ശാന്തന്മാരായി സകലമനുഷ്യരോടും പൂര്ണ്ണസൌമ്യത കാണിപ്പാനും അവരെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുക.

2. That they speake euill of no man, that they be no fighters, but soft, shewing all meekenesse vnto all men.

3. മുമ്പെ നാമും ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരും അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവരും വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരും നാനാമോഹങ്ങള്ക്കും ഭോഗങ്ങള്ക്കും അധീനരും ഈര്ഷ്യയിലും അസൂയയിലും കാലം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്വേഷിതരും അന്യോന്യം പകെക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. For wee our selues also were in times past vnwise, disobedient, deceiued, seruing the lustes and diuers pleasures, liuing in maliciousnes and enuie, hatefull, and hating one another:

4. എന്നാല് നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയും മനുഷ്യപ്രീതിയും ഉദിച്ചപ്പോള്

4. But when that bountifulnesse and that loue of God our Sauiour toward man appeared,

5. അവന് നമ്മെ നാം ചെയ്ത നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളാലല്ല, തന്റെ കരുണപ്രകാരമത്രേ രക്ഷിച്ചതു.

5. Not by the woorkes of righteousnesse, which we had done, but according to his mercie he saued vs, by the washing of the newe birth, and the renewing of the holy Ghost,

6. നാം അവന്റെ കൃപയാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു പ്രത്യാശപ്രകാരം നിത്യജീവന്റെ അവകാശികളായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു പുനര്ജ്ജനനസ്നാനം കൊണ്ടും

6. Which he shed on vs aboundantly, through Iesus Christ our Sauiour,

7. നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ യേശു ക്രിസ്തുമൂലം നമ്മുടെമേല് ധാരാളമായി പകര്ന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നവീകരണംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ.

7. That we, being iustified by his grace, should be made heires according to the hope of eternall life.

8. ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം; ദൈവത്തില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവര് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഉത്സാഹികളായിരിപ്പാന് കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ശുഭവും മനുഷ്യര്ക്കും ഉപകാരവും ആകുന്നു.

8. This is a true saying, and these thinges I will thou shouldest affirme, that they which haue beleeued God, might be carefull to shewe foorth good woorkes. These things are good and profitable vnto men.

9. മൌഢ്യതര്ക്കവും വംശാവലികളും കലഹവും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാദവും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുനില്ക്ക. ഇവ നിഷ്പ്രയോജനവും വ്യര്ത്ഥവുമല്ലോ.

9. But stay foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and brawlings about the Lawe: for they are vnprofitable and vaine.

10. സഭയില് ഭിന്നത വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു ഒന്നു രണ്ടു വട്ടം ബുദ്ധി പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവനെ ഒഴിക്ക;

10. Reiect him that is an heretike, after once or twise admonition,

11. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് വക്രബുദ്ധിയായി പാപം ചെയ്തു തന്നെത്താന് കുറ്റം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ.

11. Knowing that hee that is such, is peruerted, and sinneth, being damned of his owne selfe.

12. ഞാന് അര്ത്തെമാസിനെയോ തിഹിക്കൊസിനെയോ അങ്ങോട്ടു അയക്കുമ്പോള് നിക്കൊപ്പൊലിസില് വന്നു എന്നോടു ചേരുവാന് ശ്രമിക്ക. അവിടെ ഞാന് ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. When I shall send Artemas vnto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to mee vnto Nicopolis: for I haue determined there to winter.

13. ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിയായ സേനാസിന്നു അപ്പൊല്ലോസിന്നും ഒരു മുട്ടും വരാതവണ്ണം ഉത്സാഹിച്ചു വഴിയാത്ര അയക്ക.

13. Bring Zenas the expounder of the Lawe, and Apollos on their iourney diligently, that they lacke nothing.

14. നമുക്കുള്ളവരും ഫലമില്ലാത്തവര് ആകാതെ അത്യാവശ്യസംഗതികളില് സല്പ്രവൃത്തികള്ക്കു മുമ്പരായിരിപ്പാന് പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

14. And let ours also learne to shewe foorth good woorkes for necessary vses, that they be not vnfruitfull.

15. എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവര് എല്ലാവരും നിനക്കു വന്ദനം ചെല്ലുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെ വിശ്വാസത്തില് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും വന്ദനം ചൊല്ലുക. കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടെല്ലാവരോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ
