1. നാം ഈ പറയുന്നതിന്റെ സാരം എന്തെന്നാല്സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് മഹിമാസനത്തിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇുരുന്നവനായി,
സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 110:1

1. Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,

2. വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലത്തിന്റെയും മനുഷ്യനല്ല കര്ത്താവു സ്ഥാപിച്ച സത്യകൂടാരത്തിന്റെയും ശുശ്രൂഷകനായ മഹാപുരോഹിതന് നമുക്കുണ്ടു.

2. a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man.

3. ഏതു മഹാപുരോഹിതനും വഴിപാടും യാഗവും അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് നിയമിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; ആകയാല് അര്പിപ്പാന് ഇവന്നും വല്ലതും വേണം.

3. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.

4. അവന് ഭൂമിയില് ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില് പുരോഹിതന് ആകയില്ലായിരുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം വഴിപാടു അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നവര് ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

4. Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law.

5. കൂടാരം തീര്പ്പാന് മോശെ ആരംഭിച്ചപ്പോള് “പര്വ്വതത്തില് നിനക്കു കാണിച്ച മാതൃക പ്രകാരം നീ സകലവും ചെയ്വാന് നോക്കുക” എന്നു അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അവര് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയത്തിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തവും നിഴലുമായതില് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

5. They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, 'See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.'

6. അവനോ വിശേഷതയേറിയ വാഗ്ദത്തങ്ങളിന്മേല് സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ട നിയമത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യസ്ഥനാകയാല് അതിന്റെ വിശേഷതെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം വിശേഷതയേറിയ ശുശ്രൂഷയും പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.

7. ഒന്നാമത്തെ നിയമം കുറവില്ലാത്തതായിരുന്നു എങ്കില് രണ്ടാമത്തേതിന്നു ഇടം അന്വേഷിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

7. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.

8. എന്നാല് അവന് അവരെ ആക്ഷേപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു“ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തോടും യഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തോടും പുതിയോരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്ന കാലം വരും എന്നു കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. For he finds fault with them when he says: 'Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,

9. ഞാന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളില് ഞാന് അവരോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമംപോലെ അല്ല; അവര് എന്റെ നിയമത്തില് നിലനിന്നില്ല; ഞാന് അവരെ ആദരിച്ചതുമില്ല എന്നു കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9. not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.

10. ഈ കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തോടു ചെയ്വാനിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമം ഇങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നുഞാന് എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവരുടെ ഉള്ളിലാക്കി അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളില് എഴുതും; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും ദൈവമായും അവര് എനിക്കു ജനമായും ഇരിക്കും.

10. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

11. ഇനി അവരില് ആരും തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെയും തന്റെ സഹോദരനെയും കര്ത്താവിനെ അറിക എന്നു ഉപദേശിക്കയില്ല; അവര് ആബാലവൃദ്ധം എല്ലാവരും എന്നെ അറിയും.

11. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

12. ഞാന് അവരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു കരുണയുള്ളവന് ആകും; അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഇനി ഔര്ക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.”

12. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.'

13. പുതിയതു എന്നു പറയുന്നതിനാല് ആദ്യത്തേതിനെ പഴയതാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല് പഴയതാകുന്നതും ജീര്ണ്ണിക്കുന്നതും എല്ലാം നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാന് അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
