1. എന്നാല് ആദ്യനിയമത്തിന്നും ആരാധനെക്കുള്ള ചട്ടങ്ങളും ലൌകികമായ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

1. Now even the first {cf15i covenant} had ordinances of divine service, and its sanctuary, {cf15i a sanctuary} of this world.

2. For there was a tabernacle prepared, the first, wherein {cf15i were} the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the Holy place.

4. having a golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein {cf15i was} a golden pot holding the manna, and Aarons rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

7. but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offereth for himself, and for the errors of the people:

8. the Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while as the first tabernacle is yet standing;

9. ആ കൂടാരം ഈ കാലത്തേക്കു ഒരു സാദൃശ്യമത്രേ. അതിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ആരാധനക്കാരന്നു മനസ്സാക്ഷിയില് പൂര്ണ്ണ സമാധാനം വരുത്തുവാന് കഴിയാത്ത വഴിപാടും യാഗവും അര്പ്പിച്ചു പോരുന്നു.

9. which {cf15i is} a parable for the time {cf15i now} present; according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect,

10. അവ ഭക്ഷ്യങ്ങള്, പാനീയങ്ങള്, വിവിധ സ്നാനങ്ങള് എന്നിവയോടു കൂടെ ഗുണീകരണകാലത്തോളം ചുമത്തിയിരുന്ന ജഡികനിയമങ്ങളത്രേ.

10. {cf15i being} only (with meats and drinks and divers washings) carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

11. But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

12. ഒരു കൂടാരത്തില്കൂടി ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരുടെയും പശുക്കിടാക്കളുടെയും രക്തത്താലല്ല, സ്വന്ത രക്തത്താല് തന്നേ ഒരിക്കലായിട്ടു വിശുദ്ധ മന്ദിരത്തില് പ്രവേശിച്ചു എന്നേക്കുമുള്ളോരു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പു സാധിപ്പിച്ചു.

14. how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish unto God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15. And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they that have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

16. നിയമം ഉള്ളേടത്തു നിയമകര്ത്താവിന്റെ മരണം തെളിവാന് ആവശ്യം.

16. For where a testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him that made it.

17. മരിച്ചശേഷമല്ലോ നിയമം സ്ഥിരമാകുന്നതു; നിയമകര്ത്താവിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തോളം അതിന്നു ഉറപ്പില്ല.

17. For a testament is of force where there hath been death: for doth it ever avail while he that made it liveth?

18. അതുകൊണ്ടു ആദ്യനിയമവും രക്തം കൂടാതെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചതല്ല.

18. Wherefore even the first {cf15i covenant} hath not been dedicated without blood.

19. മോശെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം കല്പന ഒക്കെയും സകലജനത്തോടും പ്രസ്താവിച്ച ശേഷം പശുക്കിടാക്കളുടെയും ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരുടെയും രക്തത്തെ വെള്ളവും ചുവന്ന ആട്ടുരോമവും ഈസോപ്പുമായി എടുത്തു പുസ്തകത്തിന്മേലും സകലജനത്തിന്മേലും തളിച്ചു

19. For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses unto all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself, and all the people,

20. “ഇതു ദൈവം നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ച നിയമത്തിന്റെ രക്തം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to youward.

21. Moreover the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry he sprinkled in like manner with the blood.

22. ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം ഏകദേശം സകലവും രക്തത്താല് ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; രക്തം ചൊരിഞ്ഞിട്ടല്ലാതെ വിമോചനമില്ല.

22. And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.

23. ആകയാല് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ളവയുടെ പ്രതിബിംബങ്ങളെ ഈവകയാല് ശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു ആവശ്യം. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗീയമായവെക്കോ ഇവയെക്കാള് നല്ല യാഗങ്ങള് ആവശ്യം.

23. It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

24. ക്രിസ്തു വാസ്തവമായതിന്റെ പ്രതിബിംബമായി കൈപ്പണിയായ വിശുദ്ധ മന്ദിരത്തിലേക്കല്ല, ഇപ്പോള് നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് പ്രത്യക്ഷനാവാന് സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കത്രേ പ്രവേശിച്ചതു.

24. For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:

25. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് ആണ്ടുതോറും അന്യരക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവന് തന്നെത്താന് കൂടെക്കൂടെ അര്പ്പിപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല.

25. nor yet that he should offer himself often; as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;

26. അങ്ങനെയായാല് ലോകസ്ഥാപനം മുതലക്കു അവന് പലപ്പോഴും കഷ്ടമനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് അവന് ലോകാവസാനത്തില് സ്വന്ത യാഗംകൊണ്ടു പാപപരിഹാരം വരുത്തുവാന് ഒരിക്കല് പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.

26. else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

27. And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this {cf15i cometh} judgment;

28. ക്രിസ്തുവും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ അനേകരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ചുമപ്പാന് ഒരിക്കല് അര്പ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു തനിക്കായി കാത്തുനിലക്കുന്നവരുടെ രക്ഷെക്കായി അവന് പാപം കൂടാതെ രണ്ടാമതു പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകും.

28. so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.
