1. എഫെസൊസിലെ സഭയുടെ ദൂതന്നു എഴുതുകഏഴു നക്ഷത്രം വലങ്കയ്യില് പിടിച്ചും കൊണ്ടു ഏഴു പൊന് നിലവിളക്കുകളുടെ നടുവില് നടക്കുന്നവന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു

1. And to the aungel of the chirche of Efesus write thou, These thingis seith he, that holdith the seuene sterris in his riyt hond, which walkith in the middil of the seuene goldun candilstikis.

2. ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയും പ്രയത്നവും സഹിഷ്ണുതയും കൊള്ളരുതാത്തവരെ നിനക്കു സഹിച്ചുകൂടാത്തതും അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരല്ലാതിരിക്കെ തങ്ങള് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് എന്നു പറയുന്നവരെ നീ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു കള്ളന്മാര് എന്നു കണ്ടതും,

2. Y woot thi werkis, and trauel, and thi pacience, and that thou maist not suffre yuele men; and thou hast asaied hem that seien that thei ben apostlis, and ben not, and thou hast foundun hem lieris;

3. നിനക്കു സഹിഷ്ണുതയുള്ളതും എന്റെ നാമംനിമിത്തം നീ സഹിച്ചതും തളന്നുപോകാഞ്ഞതും ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

3. and thou hast pacience, and thou hast suffrid for my name, and failidist not.

4. എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ആദ്യസ്നേഹം വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഒരു കുറ്റം നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറവാനുണ്ടു.

4. But Y haue ayens thee a fewe thingis, that thou hast left thi firste charite.

5. നീ ഏതില്നിന്നു വീണിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ത്തു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു ആദ്യത്തെ പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്ക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് ഞാന് വരികയും നീ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാഞ്ഞാല് നിന്റെ നിലവിളകൂ അതിന്റെ നിലയില്നിന്നു നീക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

5. Therfor be thou myndeful fro whennus thou hast falle, and do penaunce, and do the firste werkis; ether ellis, Y come soone to thee, and Y schal moue thi candilstike fro his place, but `thou do penaunce.

6. എങ്കിലും നിക്കൊലാവ്യരുടെ നടപ്പു നീ പകെക്കുന്നു എന്നൊരു നന്മ നിനക്കുണ്ടു.

7. അതു ഞാനും പകെക്കുന്നു. ആത്മാവു സഭകളോടു പറയുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു ചെവിയുള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ. ജയിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരദീസയില് ഉള്ള ജീവവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലം തിന്മാന് കൊടുക്കും.

8. And to the aungel of the chirche of Smyrma write thou, These thingis seith the firste and the laste, that was deed, and lyueth.

9. ഞാന് നിന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും ദാരിദ്ര്യവും — നീ ധനവാനാകുന്നു താനും — തങ്ങള് യെഹൂദര് എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിലും യെഹൂദരല്ല, സാത്താന്റെ പള്ളിക്കാരായവരുടെ ദൂഷണവും അറിയുന്നു.

9. Y woot thi tribulacioun, and thi pouert, but thou art riche; and thou art blasfemyd of hem, that seien, that thei ben Jewis, and ben not, but ben the synagoge of Sathanas.

10. Drede thou no thing of these thingis, whiche thou schalt suffre. Lo! the deuel schal sende summe of you in to prisoun, that ye be temptid; and ye schulen haue tribulacioun ten daies. Be thou feithful to the deth, and Y schal yyue to thee a coroun of lijf.

11. ആത്മാവു സഭകളോടു പറയുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു ചെവിയുള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ. ജയിക്കുന്നവന്നു രണ്ടാം മരണത്താല് ദോഷം വരികയില്ല.

13. നീ എവിടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു എന്നും അതു സാത്താന്റെ സിംഹാസനം ഉള്ളേടം എന്നും ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; നീ എന്റെ നാമം മുറുകെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്, സാത്താന് പാര്ക്കുംന്നേടത്തു തന്നേ, എന്റെ സാക്ഷിയും വിശ്വസ്തനുമായ അന്തിപ്പാസിനെ കൊന്ന കാലത്തുപോലും നീ എങ്കലുള്ള വിശ്വാസം നിഷേധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

13. Y woot where thou dwellist, where the seete of Sathanas is; and thou holdist my name, and denyedist not my feith. And in tho daies was Antifas, my feithful witnesse, that was slayn at you, where Sathanas dwellith.

14. എങ്കിലും നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു കുറഞ്ഞോരു കുറ്റം പറവാന് ഉണ്ടു; യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് വിഗ്രഹാര്പ്പിതം തിന്നേണ്ടതിന്നും ദുര്ന്നടപ്പു ആചരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് ഇടര്ച്ചവെപ്പാന് ബാലാക്കിന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ബിലെയാമിന്റെ ഉപദേശം പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവര് അവിടെ നിനക്കുണ്ടു.

15. അവ്വണ്ണം നിക്കൊലാവ്യരുടെ ഉപദേശം കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവര് നിനക്കും ഉണ്ടു.

15. so also thou hast men holdinge the teching of Nycholaitis.

16. ആകയാല് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് ഞാന് വേഗത്തില് വന്നു എന്റെ വായിലെ വാളുകൊണ്ടു അവരോടു പോരാടും.

16. Also do thou penaunce; `yif ony thing lesse, Y schal come soone to thee, and Y schal fiyte with hem with the swerd of my mouth.

17. ആത്മാവു സഭകളോടു പറയുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു ചെവിയുള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ. ജയിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാന് മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന മന്ന കൊടുക്കും; ഞാന് അവന്നു വെള്ളക്കല്ലും, ലഭിക്കുന്നവനല്ലാതെ ആരും അറിയാത്തതും ആ കല്ലിന്മേല് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുമായ പുതിയ പേരും കൊടുക്കും.

19. ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയും നിന്റെ സ്നേഹം, വിശ്വാസം, ശുശ്രൂഷ, സഹിഷ്ണുത എന്നിവയും നിന്റെ ഒടുവിലത്തെ പ്രവൃത്തി ആദ്യത്തേതിലും ഏറെയെന്നും അറിയുന്നു.

19. Y knowe thi werkis, and feith, and charite, and thi seruyce, and thi pacience, and thi laste werkis mo than the formere.

20. എങ്കിലും താന് പ്രവാചകി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ദുര്ന്നടപ്പു ആചരിപ്പാനും വിഗ്രഹാര്പ്പിതം തിന്മാനും എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ ഉപദേശിക്കയും തെറ്റിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈസബേല് എന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ നീ അനുവദിക്കുന്നു എന്നൊരു കുറ്റം നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറവാന് ഉണ്ടു.

20. But Y haue ayens thee a fewe thingis; for thou suffrist the womman Jesabel, which seith that sche is a prophetesse, to teche and disseyue my seruauntis, to do letcherie, and to ete of thingis offrid to idols.

21. ഞാന് അവള്ക്കു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവാന് സമയം കൊടുത്തിട്ടും ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുവിട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവാന് അവള്ക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

21. And Y yaf to hir time, that sche schulde do penaunce, and sche wolde not do penaunce of hir fornycacioun.

22. ഞാന് അവളെ കിടപ്പിലും അവളുമായി വ്യഭിചരിക്കുന്നവരെ അവളുടെ നടപ്പു വിട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാതിരുന്നാല് വലിയ കഷ്ടതയിലും ആക്കിക്കളയും.

22. And lo! Y sende hir in to a bed, and thei that doen letcherie with hir schulen be in moost tribulacioun, but thei don penaunce of hir werkis.

23. അവളുടെ മക്കളെയും ഞാന് കൊന്നുകളയും; ഞാന് ഉള്പൂവുകളെയും ഹൃദയങ്ങളെയും ആരായുന്നവന് എന്നു സകലസഭകളും അറിയും; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഏവര്ക്കും പകരം ചെയ്യും.

24. And Y seie to you, and to othere that ben at Tiatire, who euer han not this teching, and that knewen not the hiynesse of Sathanas, hou thei seien, Y schal not sende on you another charge; netheles holde ye that that ye han,

25. എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളതു ഞാന് വരുംവരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു ഞാന് കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

26. ജയിക്കയും ഞാന് കല്പിച്ച പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അവസാനത്തോളം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു എന്റെ പിതാവു എനിക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ ഞാന് ജാതികളുടെ മേല് അധികാരം കൊടുക്കും.
