1. രാജാവു അബ്ശാലോമിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ദുഃഖിച്ചുകരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യോവാബ് കേട്ടു.

1. And it was told Ioab, beholde the king weepeth, & mourneth for Absalom.

2. എന്നാല് രാജാവു തന്റെ മകനെക്കുറിച്ചു വ്യസനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ആ ദിവസം ജനം കേട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അന്നത്തേ ജയം ജനത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും ദുഃഖമായ്തീര്ന്നു.

2. And the victorie of that day was turned into mourning vnto al the people: for the people heard say that day howe ye king sorowed for his sonne.

3. ആകയാല് യുദ്ധത്തില് തോറ്റിട്ടു നാണിച്ചു ഒളിച്ചുവരുംപോലെ ജനം അന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു ഒളിച്ചുകടന്നു.

3. And the people went that day into the citie by stealth, as people confounded to conuey themselues when they flee in battell.

4. രാജാവു മുഖം മൂടിഎന്റെ മകനേ, അബ്ശാലോമേ, അബ്ശാലോമേ, എന്റെ മകനേ! എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

4. But the king hyd his face, and cryed with a loude voyce: O my sonne Absalom, O Absalom my sonne, my sonne.

5. അപ്പോള് യോവാബ് അരമനയില് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതുഇന്നു നിന്റെയും നിന്റെ പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാരുടെയും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരുടെയും വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെയും ജീവനെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരെയും നീ ഇന്നു ലജ്ജിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ പാകെക്കുന്നവരെ നീ സ്നേഹീക്കുന്നു; നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ നീ പകെക്കുന്നു;

5. And Ioab came into the house to the king, and sayd: Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy seruautes, which this day haue saued thy life, & the liues of thy sonnes, and of thy daughters, & the liues of thy wyues, and of thy concubines,

6. പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ഭൃത്യന്മാരും നിനക്കു ഏതുമില്ല എന്നു നീ ഇന്നു കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അബ്ശാലോം ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കയും ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും ഇന്നു മരിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു എങ്കില് നിനക്കു നല്ല പ്രസാദമാകുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു എനിക്കു ഇന്നു മനസ്സിലായി.

6. In that thou louest thyne enemies, and hatest thy frendes: For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither thy princes nor seruauntes: And this day I do perceaue, that if Absalom had lyued, and all we had died this day, that had pleased thee well.

7. ആകയാല് ഇപ്പോള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറത്തുവന്നു നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു സന്തോഷമായി സംസാരിക്ക; നീ പുറത്തു വരാത്തപക്ഷം യഹോവയാണ, ഈ രാത്രി ആരും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ താമസിക്കയില്ല; അതു നിന്റെ ബാല്യംമുതല് ഇതുവരെ നിനക്കു ഭവിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള സകല അനര്ത്ഥത്തെക്കാളും വലിയ അനര്ത്ഥമായ്തീരും.

7. Nowe therfore vp, and come out, and speake cofortably vnto thy seruauntes: For I sweare by the Lorde, except thou come out, there will not tary one man with thee this night, and that wilbe worse vnto thee, then all the euyll that fell on thee from thy youth vnto this houre.

8. അങ്ങനെ രാജാവു എഴുന്നേറ്റു പടിവാതില്ക്കല് ഇരുന്നു. രാജാവു പടിവാതില്ക്കല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ജനത്തിനെല്ലാം അറിവു കിട്ടി; സകലജനവും രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വന്നു.

8. Then the king arose, and sate in the gate: And they tolde vnto all the people, saying, beholde the king doth sit in the gate, and all the people came before the king: For Israel had fled, euery man to his tent.

9. യിസ്രായേല്യര് താന്താങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോയിരുന്നു. എല്ലായിസ്രായേല് ഗോത്രങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള ജനം ഒക്കെയും തമ്മില് തര്ക്കിച്ചുരാജാവു നമ്മെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യില് നിന്നു നമ്മെ വിടുവിച്ചതും അവന് തന്നേ. ഇപ്പോഴോ അബ്ശാലോംനിമിത്തം അവന് നാടുവിട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. And al ye people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying: The king saued vs out of the hand of our enemies, & he deliuered vs out of the hande of the Philistines, and nowe he is fled out of the lande for Absalom:

10. നമുക്കു രാജാവായി നാം അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരുന്ന അബ്ശാലോമോ പടയില് പട്ടുപോയി. ആകയാല് രാജാവിനെ തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന കാര്യത്തില് നിങ്ങള് അനങ്ങാതിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

10. But Absalom whom we annoynted ouer vs, is dead in battell: Therefore, why are ye so still, that ye bring not the king agayne?

11. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ്രാജാവു പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിന്റെയും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെയും അടുക്കല് ആളയച്ചു പറയിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്നിങ്ങള് യെഹൂദാമൂപ്പന്മാരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുരാജാവിനെ അരമനയിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന കാര്യത്തില് നിങ്ങള് പിമ്പന്മാരായി നിലക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? രാജാവിനെ അരമനയിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന കാര്യത്തില് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും സംസാരം അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. And king Dauid sent to Sadoc & Abiathar the priestes, saying: Speake vnto the elders of Iuda, and say: Why are ye behinde to bring the king againe to his house (seyng that such tydinges is come from all Israel vnto the king, euen to his house?)

12. നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര്; എന്റെ അസ്ഥിയും മാംസവും അല്ലോ. രാജാവിനെ മടക്കി വരുത്തുന്ന കാര്യത്തില് നിങ്ങള് പിമ്പരായി നിലക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

12. Ye are my brethren, my bones, and my fleshe: Wherfore then are ye the last that bryng the king againe?

13. നിങ്ങള് അമാസയോടുനീ എന്റെ അസ്ഥിയും മാംസവും അല്ലോ? നീ യോവാബിന്നു പകരം എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പില് സേനാപതിയായിരിക്കുന്നില്ല എങ്കില് ദൈവം തക്കവണ്ണവും അധികവും എന്നോടു ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു പറവിന് .

13. And say ye to Amasa: Art thou not of my bone and of my fleshe? God do so to me and more also, if thou be not captayne of the hoast to me for euer in the roome of Ioab.

14. ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് സകല യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെയും ഹൃദയം ഒന്നുപോലെ ആകര്ഷിച്ചു. ആകയാല് അവര്നീയും നിന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരും മടങ്ങിവരുവിന് എന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

14. And he bowed the heartes of all the men of Iuda, euen as the heart of one man, so that they sent [this word] to the king: Returne thou with all thy seruauntes.

15. അങ്ങനെ രാജാവു മടങ്ങി യോര്ദ്ദാങ്കല് എത്തി. രാജാവിനെ എതിരേറ്റു യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുപോരേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാര് ഗില്ഗാലില് ചെന്നു.

15. So the king returned, and came to Iordane: And Iuda came to Gilgal for to go to meete the king, and to conuey him ouer Iordane.

16. ബഹൂരീമിലെ ബെന്യാമീന്യനായ ഗേരയുടെ മകന് ശിമെയിയും യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ദാവീദ് രാജാവിനെ എതിരേല്പാന് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു.

16. And Simei the sonne of Gera the sonne of Iemini, whiche was of Bahurim, hasted and came downe with the men of Iuda to meete king Dauid.

17. അവനോടുകൂടെ ആയിരം ബെന്യാമീന്യരും ശൌലിന്റെ ഗൃഹവിചാരകനായ സീബയും അവന്റെ പതിനഞ്ചു പുത്രന്മാരും ഇരുപതു ഭൃത്യന്മാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവര് രാജാവു കാണ്കെ യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടന്നു ചെന്നു.

17. And there were a thousand men of Beniamin with him, and Ziba the seruaunt of the house of Saul and his fyfteene sonnes and twentie seruauntes with him, and they went ouer Iordane before the king.

18. രാജാവിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ ഇക്കരെ കടത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നും ചങ്ങാടം അക്കരെ ചെന്നിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള് ഗേരയുടെ മകനായ ശിമെയി യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടപ്പാന് പോകുന്ന രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പില് വീണു രാജാവിനോടു

18. And there went ouer a boate to carie ouer the kinges housholde, and to do him pleasure: And Simei the sonne of Gera fel before the king as he was come ouer Iordane,

19. എന്റെ യജമാനന് എന്റെ കുറ്റം എനിക്കു കണക്കിടരുതേ; യജമാനനായ രാജാവു യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ദിവസം അടിയന് ചെയ്ത ദോഷം രാജാവു മനസ്സില് വെക്കയും ഔര്ക്കയും അരുതേ.

19. And sayde vnto the king: Let not my lorde impute wickednes vnto me, nor remembre the thinges that thy seruaunt dyd wickedly when my lord the king departed out of Hierusale, that the king should take it to his heart.

20. അടിയന് പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നു; അതു കൊണ്ടു ഇതാ, യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനെ എതിരേല്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി വരുവാന് യോസേഫിന്റെ സകലഗൃഹത്തിലുംവെച്ചു അടിയന് ഇന്നു മുമ്പനായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. For thy seruaunt doth knowe howe that I haue done amisse: And therfore behold, I am the first this day of all the house of Ioseph, that am come downe to meete my lorde the king.

21. എന്നാറെ സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ അബീശായിയഹോവയുടെ അഭിഷിക്തനെ ശപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ശിമെയി അതുനിമിത്തം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

21. But Abisai the sonne of Zaruia aunswered, and sayd: Shall not Simei dye for this, because he cursed the Lordes annoynted?

22. അതിന്നു ദാവീദ്സെരൂയയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരേ, ഇന്നു നിങ്ങള് എനിക്കു എതിരികളാകേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കും നിങ്ങള്ക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ഇന്നു യിസ്രായേലില് ഒരുത്തനെ കൊല്ലാമോ? ഇന്നു ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവെന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And Dauid sayde: What haue I to do with you ye sonnes of Zaruia? For this day ye be aduersaries vnto me: Shall there any man dye this day in Israel? Do not I knowe that I am this day kyng ouer Israel?

23. പിന്നെ ശിമെയിയോടുനീ മരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, രാജാവു അവനോടു സത്യവും ചെയ്തു.

23. And therfore the kyng sayde vnto Simei, Thou shalt not dye: and the kyng sware vnto hym.

24. ശൌലിന്റെ മകനായ മെഫീബോശെത്തും രാജാവിനെ എതിരേല്പാന് വന്നു; രാജാവു പോയ ദിവസം മുതല് സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിവന്ന ദിവസംവരെ അവന് തന്റെ കാലിന്നു രക്ഷചെയ്കയോ താടി ഒതുക്കുകയോ വസ്ത്രം അലക്കിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ല.

24. And Miphiboseth the sonne of Saul came downe to meete the kyng, and had neither washed his feete, nor dressed his bearde, nor washed his clothes, from the tyme the kyng departed, vntyll he came againe in peace.

25. എന്നാല് അവന് രാജാവിനെ എതിരേല്പാന് യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു വന്നപ്പോള് രാജാവു അവനോടുമെഫീബോശെത്തേ, നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരാതെയിരുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

25. And when he was come to Hierusalem and met the king, the king sayde vnto him: Wherfore wentest not thou with me Miphiboseth?

26. അതിന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുയജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, എന്റെ ഭൃത്യന് എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു; കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കയറി, രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു കോപ്പിടേണമെന്നു അടിയന് പറഞ്ഞു; അടിയന് മുടന്തനല്ലോ.

26. He aunswered: My lorde O king, my seruaunt deceaued me: For thy seruaunt saide, I would haue myne asse sadled to ryde thereon, for to go to the king: because thy seruaunt is lame.

27. അവന് യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടു അടിയനെക്കൊണ്ടു നുണയും പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും യജമാനനായ രാജാവു ദൈവദൂതന്നു തുല്യന് ആകുന്നു; തിരുമനസ്സിലെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊള്ക.

27. And he hath accused thy seruaunt vnto my lorde the king, and my lorde the king is as an angell of God: do therfore what seemeth good in thine eyes.

28. യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അടിയന്റെ പിതൃഭവനമൊക്കെയും മരണയോഗ്യര് ആയിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അടിയനെ അവിടത്തെ മേശയിങ്കല് ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ആക്കി; രാജാവിനോടു ആവലാധി പറവാന് അടിയന്നു ഇനി എന്തു അവകാശമുള്ളു?

28. For all my fathers house were but dead men before my lorde the king, and yet diddest thou put thy seruaunt among the that dyd eate at thyne owne table: What right therefore haue I yet to crye any more vnto the king?

29. രാജാവു അവനോടുനീ നിന്റെ കാര്യം ഇനി അധികം പറയുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? നീയും സീബയും നിലം പകുത്തെടുത്തുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു ഞാന് കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And the king said vnto him: Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I haue saide, Thou and Ziba deuide the landes betweene you.

30. മെഫീബോശെത്ത് രാജാവിനോടുഅല്ല, അവന് തന്നേ മുഴുവനും എടുത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ; യജമാനനായ രാജാവു സമാധാനത്തോടെ അരമനയില് എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

30. And Miphiboseth sayd vnto the king: yea, let him take all forsomuch as my lord ye king is come againe in peace vnto his owne house.

31. ഗിലെയാദ്യനായ ബര്സില്ലായിയും രോഗെലീമില്നിന്നു വന്നു, രാജാവിനെ യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ കടത്തി യാത്ര അയപ്പാന് അവനോടുകൂടെ യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടന്നു.

31. And Barzellai ye Gileadite came downe from Roglim, and went ouer Iordane with the king, to conduct him ouer Iordane.

32. ബര്സില്ലായിയോ എണ്പതു വയസ്സുള്ളോരു വയോധികനായിരുന്നു; രാജാവു മഹനയീമില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന കാലത്തു അവന് ഭക്ഷണസാധനങ്ങള് അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; അവന് മഹാധനികന് ആയിരുന്നു.

32. Barzellai was a very aged man, euen foure score yeres olde, and prouided the king of sustenaunce while he laye at Mahanaim: for he was a man of very great substaunce.

33. രാജാവു ബര്സില്ലായിയോടുഎന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരിക; ഞാന് നിന്നെ യെരൂശലേമില് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് പാര്പ്പിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. And the king said vnto Barzellai, come ouer with me, & I will feede thee with me in Hierusalem.

34. ബര്സില്ലായി രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്ഞാന് രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമില് വരുന്നതെന്തിന്നു? ഞാന് ഇനി എത്ര നാള് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും?

34. And Barzellai saide vnto the king: How long haue I to liue, that I shuld go vp with the king vnto Hierusalem?

35. എനിക്കു ഇന്നു എണ്പതു വയസ്സായിരിക്കുന്നു; നല്ലതും ആകാത്തതും എനിക്കു തിരിച്ചറിയാമോ? ഭക്ഷണപാനങ്ങളുടെ സ്വാദു അടിയന്നു അറിയാമോ? സംഗീതക്കാരുടെയും സംഗീതക്കാരത്തികളുടെയും സ്വരം എനിക്കു ഇനി കേട്ടു രസിക്കാമോ? അടിയന് യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്നു ഭാരമായ്തീരുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു?

35. I am this day foure score yeres olde: & can I deserue betweene good or euyll? Hath thy seruaunt any taste in that he eateth or drinketh? Can he heare any more the voyce of syngyng men and women? wherfore the should thy seruaunt be yet a burthen vnto my lord the king?

36. അടിയന് രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടപ്പാനേ വിചാരിച്ചുള്ളൂ; രാജാവു ഇതിന്നായി എനിക്കു ഈ വിധം പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തിനു?

36. Thy seruaunt will go a litle way ouer Iordane with the king: & why wyl the king recompence it me with such a rewarde?

37. എന്റെ പട്ടണത്തില് എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെയും അമ്മയുടെയും കല്ലറയുടെ അടുക്കല്വെച്ചു മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അടിയന് വിടകൊള്ളട്ടെ; എന്നാല് നിന്റെ ദാസനായ കിംഹാം ഇതാ; അവന് യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ പോരട്ടെ; നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായതു അവന്നു ചെയ്തു കൊടുത്താലും.

37. O let thy seruaunt turne backe agayne, that I may dye in myne owne citie, and [be buryed] in the graue of my father & of my mother: Beholde, here is thy seruaunt Chimham, let him go with my lorde the king, and do to him what shall please thee.

38. അതിന്നു രാജാവുകിംഹാം എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരട്ടെ; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടപ്രകാരം ഞാന് അവന്നു ചെയ്തുകൊടുക്കാം; നീ എന്നോടു ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നിനക്കായി ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. And the king aunswered: Chimham shall go with me, and I will do to him that thou shalt be content with: And what soeuer thou shalt require of me, that same will I do for thee.

39. പിന്നെ സകലജനവും യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടന്നു. രാജാവു യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടന്നശേഷം ബര്സില്ലായിയെ ചുംബനംചെയ്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവന് സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

39. And al the people went ouer Iordane: and whe the king was come ouer Iordane, he kissed Barzellai, & blessed him, & he went backe againe vnto his owne place.

40. രാജാവു ഗില്ഗാലില് ചെന്നു; കീംഹാമും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; യെഹൂദാജനമൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല്ജനം പാതിയും കൂടി രാജാവിനെ ഇക്കരെകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

40. And then the king went to Gilgal, & Chimham went with him: And al the people of Iuda, conducted the king, and also halfe the people of Israel.

41. അപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്പുരുഷന്മാര് ഒക്കെയും രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു രാജാവിനോടുഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാര് രാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും ദാവീദിന്റെ സകലപരിചാരകന്മാരെയും മോഷ്ടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു യോര്ദ്ദാന് കടത്തിയതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. And beholde, all the men of Israel came to the king, & saide vnto the king: Why haue our brethren the men of Iuda stolen thee away, and haue brought the king and his housholde and all Dauids men with him ouer Iordane?

42. അതിന്നു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാര് ഒക്കെയും യിസ്രായേല് പുരുഷന്മാരോടുരാജാവു ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അടുത്ത ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരന് ആകകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ; അതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് കോപിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? ഞങ്ങള് രാജാവിന്റെ വക വല്ലതും തിന്നുവോ? അവന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വല്ല സമ്മാനവും തന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

42. And all the men of Iuda aunswered the men of Israel, Because the king is neare of kinne to vs: Wherefore be ye angry for this matter? Haue we eaten of the kinges cost? or haue we taken any brybes?

43. യിസ്രായേല്പുരുഷന്മാര് യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടുരാജാവിങ്കല് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പത്തു ഔഹരി ഉണ്ടു; ദാവീദിങ്കല് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു നിങ്ങളെക്കാള് അധികം അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളെ ധിക്കരിച്ചതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവിനെ തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളല്ലയോ അദ്യം പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല് യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു യിസ്രായേല് പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ വാക്കിനെക്കാള് അധികം കഠിനമായിരുന്നു.

43. And the men of Israel aunswered the men of Iuda, and saide: We haue ten partes in the king, and haue thereto more ryght to Dauid then ye: Why then did ye despise vs, that our aduise should not be first had, in restoring our king? And the wordes of the men of Iuda were fiercer the the wordes of the men of Israel.
