1. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു സകലവിരുതന്മാരുമായി മുപ്പതിനായിരം പേരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി

1. David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

2. കെരൂബുകളുടെ മീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്ന നാമത്താല് വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ബാലേ-യെഹൂദയില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാവീദും കൂടെയുള്ള സകലജനവും അവിടേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോയി.

2. And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baalejudah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the LORD of hosts who sits enthroned on the cherubim.

3. അവര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ഒരു പുതിയ വണ്ടിയില് കയറ്റി, കുന്നിന്മേലുള്ള അബീനാദാബിന്റെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അബീനാദാബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ഉസ്സയും അഹ്യോവും ആ പുതിയവണ്ടി തെളിച്ചു.

3. And they carried the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart

4. കുന്നിന്മേലുള്ള അബീനാദാബിന്റെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അവര് അതിനെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകവുമായി കൊണ്ടു പോരുമ്പോള് അഹ്യോ പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു മുമ്പായി നടന്നു.

4. with the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.

5. ദാവീദും യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമൊക്കെയും സരളമരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള സകലവിധവാദിത്രങ്ങളോടും കിന്നരം, വീണ, തപ്പ്, മുരജം, കൈത്താളം എന്നിവയോടുംകൂടെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നൃത്തം ചെയ്തു.

5. And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the LORD with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals.

6. അവര് നാഖോന്റെ കളത്തിങ്കല് എത്തിയപ്പോള് കാള വിരണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു ഉസ്സാ കൈ നീട്ടി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം പിടിച്ചു.

6. And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled.

7. അപ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ഉസ്സയുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവന്റെ അവിവേകം നിമിത്തം ദൈവം അവിടെവെച്ചു അവനെ സംഹരിച്ചു; അവന് അവിടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്വെച്ചു മരിച്ചു.

7. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there because he put forth his hand to the ark; and he died there beside the ark of God.

8. യഹോവ ഉസ്സയെ ഛേദിച്ച ഛേദംനിമിത്തം ദാവീദിന്നു വ്യസനമായി അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു പേരെസ്-ഉസ്സാ എന്നു പേര് വിളിച്ചു. അതു ഇന്നുവരെയും പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.

8. And David was angry because the LORD had broken forth upon Uzzah; and that place is called Perezuzzah, to this day.

9. അന്നു ദാവീദ് യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടുപോയി. യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം എന്റെ അടുക്കല് എങ്ങനെ കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. And David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said, 'How can the ark of the LORD come to me?'

10. ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുത്തുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ ദാവീദ് അതിനെ ഗിത്യനായ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെച്ചു.

10. So David was not willing to take the ark of the LORD into the city of David; but David took it aside to the house of Obededom the Gittite.

11. യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ഗിത്യനായ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില് മൂന്നുമാസം ഇരുന്നു; യഹോവ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിനെയും അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ ഒക്കെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

11. And the ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed Obededom and all his household.

12. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം നിമിത്തം യഹോവ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും അവന്നുള്ള സകലത്തെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു എന്നു ദാവീദ് രാജാവിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടിയപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

12. And it was told King David, 'The LORD has blessed the household of Obededom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.' So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom to the city of David with rejoicing;

13. യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ചുമന്നവര് ആറു ചുവടു നടന്നശേഷം അവന് ഒരു കാളയെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച കിടാവിനെയും യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

13. and when those who bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.

14. ദാവീദ് പഞ്ഞിനൂലങ്കി ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പൂര്ണ്ണശക്തിയോടെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നൃത്തം ചെയ്തു.

14. And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15. അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹമൊക്കെയും ആര്പ്പോടും കാഹളനാദത്തോടുംകൂടെ യാഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

15. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the horn.

16. എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് കടക്കുമ്പോള് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖള് കിളിവാതിലില്കൂടി നോക്കി, ദാവീദ് രാജാവു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ കുതിച്ചു നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു.

16. As the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window, and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

17. അവര് യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ദാവീദ് അതിന്നായിട്ടു അടിച്ചിരുന്ന കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തുവെച്ചു; പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

17. And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, inside the tent which David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

18. ദാവീദ്, ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു തീര്ന്നശേഷം അവന് ജനത്തെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

18. And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts,

19. പിന്നെ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സര്വ്വസംഘവുമായ സകലജനത്തിലും പുരുഷന്മാര്ക്കും സ്ത്രീകള്ക്കും ആളൊന്നിന്നു ഒരു അപ്പവും ഒരു കഷണം മാംസവും ഒരു മുന്തിരിയടയും വീതം പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു, ജനമൊക്കെയും താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി.

19. and distributed among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both men and women, to each a cake of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. Then all the people departed, each to his house.

20. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് തന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോള് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖള് ദാവീദിനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുനിസ്സാരന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് തന്നെത്താന് അനാവൃതനാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇന്നു തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ ദാസികള് കാണ്കെ തന്നെത്താന് അനാവൃതനാക്കിയ യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവു ഇന്നു എത്ര മഹത്വമുള്ളവന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And David returned to bless his household. But Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, 'How the king of Israel honored himself today, uncovering himself today before the eyes of his servants' maids, as one of the vulgar fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!'

21. ദാവീദ് മീഖളിനോടുയഹോവയുടെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിനിയമിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ അപ്പനിലും അവന്റെ സകലഗൃഹത്തിലും ഉപരിയായി എന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ, അതേ, യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഞാന് നൃത്തം ചെയ്യും.

21. And David said to Michal, 'It was before the LORD, who chose me above your father, and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the LORD -- and I will make merry before the LORD.

22. ഞാന് ഇനിയും ഇതിലധികം ഹീനനും എന്റെ കാഴ്ചെക്കു എളിയവനും ആയിരിക്കും; നീ പറഞ്ഞ ദാസികളാലോ എനിക്കു മഹത്വമുണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes; but by the maids of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor.'

23. എന്നാല് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖളിന്നു ജീവപര്യന്തം ഒരു കുട്ടിയും ഉണ്ടായില്ല.

23. And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.
