1. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു സകലവിരുതന്മാരുമായി മുപ്പതിനായിരം പേരെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി

1. Againe Dauid gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, euen thirtie thousand.

2. കെരൂബുകളുടെ മീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്ന നാമത്താല് വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ബാലേ-യെഹൂദയില്നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു ദാവീദും കൂടെയുള്ള സകലജനവും അവിടേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോയി.

2. And arose, and went with all the folke that were with him, from Baala of Iuda, to fet away from thence the arke of God, whose name is called by the name of the lord of hoastes that dwelleth vpon it betweene the cherubims.

3. അവര് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ഒരു പുതിയ വണ്ടിയില് കയറ്റി, കുന്നിന്മേലുള്ള അബീനാദാബിന്റെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അബീനാദാബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ഉസ്സയും അഹ്യോവും ആ പുതിയവണ്ടി തെളിച്ചു.

3. And they put the arke of God vpon a newe cart, & brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibea: And Uzza and Ahio the sonnes of Abinadab draue the newe carte.

4. കുന്നിന്മേലുള്ള അബീനാദാബിന്റെ വീട്ടില്നിന്നു അവര് അതിനെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകവുമായി കൊണ്ടു പോരുമ്പോള് അഹ്യോ പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു മുമ്പായി നടന്നു.

4. And when they brought the arke of God out of the house of Abinadab that was at Gibea, Ahio went before the arke.

5. ദാവീദും യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമൊക്കെയും സരളമരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള സകലവിധവാദിത്രങ്ങളോടും കിന്നരം, വീണ, തപ്പ്, മുരജം, കൈത്താളം എന്നിവയോടുംകൂടെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നൃത്തം ചെയ്തു.

5. And Dauid and all the house of Israel played before the lord on sundry instrumentes made of Cedar wood, with harpes, psalteries, timbrelles, hornettes, and simbals.

6. അവര് നാഖോന്റെ കളത്തിങ്കല് എത്തിയപ്പോള് കാള വിരണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു ഉസ്സാ കൈ നീട്ടി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം പിടിച്ചു.

6. And when they came to Nachons thresshing floore, Uzza put his hand to the arke of God, & helde it, for the oxen did shake it.

7. അപ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ഉസ്സയുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവന്റെ അവിവേകം നിമിത്തം ദൈവം അവിടെവെച്ചു അവനെ സംഹരിച്ചു; അവന് അവിടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്വെച്ചു മരിച്ചു.

7. And the Lord was wroth with Uzza, and God smote him in the same place for his fault, and there he died before the arke of God.

8. യഹോവ ഉസ്സയെ ഛേദിച്ച ഛേദംനിമിത്തം ദാവീദിന്നു വ്യസനമായി അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു പേരെസ്-ഉസ്സാ എന്നു പേര് വിളിച്ചു. അതു ഇന്നുവരെയും പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.

8. And Dauid was displeased, because the Lorde had smitten Uzza: And he called the name of the place Perez Uzza, vntill this day.

9. അന്നു ദാവീദ് യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടുപോയി. യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം എന്റെ അടുക്കല് എങ്ങനെ കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. And Dauid was then afraide of the Lorde, and sayd: Howe shall the arke of the Lord come to me?

10. ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് തന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുത്തുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലാതെ ദാവീദ് അതിനെ ഗിത്യനായ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെച്ചു.

10. And so Dauid woulde not bring the arke of the Lorde vnto him into the citie of Dauid: but Dauid caried it into the house of Obed Edom, a Gethite.

11. യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ഗിത്യനായ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില് മൂന്നുമാസം ഇരുന്നു; യഹോവ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിനെയും അവന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ ഒക്കെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

11. And the arke of the Lorde continued in the house of Obed Edom the Gethite three monethes: and the Lorde blessed Obed Edom, and all his housholde.

12. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം നിമിത്തം യഹോവ ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും അവന്നുള്ള സകലത്തെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു എന്നു ദാവീദ് രാജാവിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടിയപ്പോള് ദാവീദ് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ഔബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടില് നിന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

12. And one tolde king Dauid howe that the Lorde had blessed the house of Obed Edom, and all that parteyned vnto him, because of the arke of God. And Dauid went, and brought the arke of God from the house of Obed Edom, into the citie of Dauid with gladnes.

13. യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ചുമന്നവര് ആറു ചുവടു നടന്നശേഷം അവന് ഒരു കാളയെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച കിടാവിനെയും യാഗംകഴിച്ചു.

13. And when they that bare the arke of the Lorde, had gone sixe paces, he offered an oxe and a fat beast.

14. ദാവീദ് പഞ്ഞിനൂലങ്കി ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പൂര്ണ്ണശക്തിയോടെ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നൃത്തം ചെയ്തു.

14. And Dauid daunced before the Lorde with all his might, & was girded with a linnen Ephod.

15. അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹമൊക്കെയും ആര്പ്പോടും കാഹളനാദത്തോടുംകൂടെ യാഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

15. So Dauid and all the house of Israel brought the arke of the Lorde with showting and trumpet blowing.

16. എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് കടക്കുമ്പോള് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖള് കിളിവാതിലില്കൂടി നോക്കി, ദാവീദ് രാജാവു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ കുതിച്ചു നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചു.

16. And as ye arke of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michol Sauls daughter loked through a windowe, and sawe king Dauid spring and daunce before the Lord, and she despysed him in her heart.

17. അവര് യഹോവയുടെ പെട്ടകം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ദാവീദ് അതിന്നായിട്ടു അടിച്ചിരുന്ന കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തുവെച്ചു; പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

17. And when they brought in the arke of the Lord, they set it in his place, euen in the middes of the tabernacle that Dauid had pitched for it: and Dauid offered burnt offeringes & peace offeringes before the Lorde.

18. ദാവീദ്, ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു തീര്ന്നശേഷം അവന് ജനത്തെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

18. And assoone as Dauid had made an ende of offering burnt offeringes and peace offeringes, he blessed the people in the name of the Lorde of hoastes,

19. പിന്നെ അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സര്വ്വസംഘവുമായ സകലജനത്തിലും പുരുഷന്മാര്ക്കും സ്ത്രീകള്ക്കും ആളൊന്നിന്നു ഒരു അപ്പവും ഒരു കഷണം മാംസവും ഒരു മുന്തിരിയടയും വീതം പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു, ജനമൊക്കെയും താന്താന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി.

19. And gaue among all the folke, euen among the whole multitude of Israel, aswel to the women as men, to euery one a cake of bread, & a peece of flesshe, and a flacked of wine: And so al the people departed euery one to his house.

20. അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് തന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോള് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖള് ദാവീദിനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുനിസ്സാരന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് തന്നെത്താന് അനാവൃതനാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇന്നു തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ ദാസികള് കാണ്കെ തന്നെത്താന് അനാവൃതനാക്കിയ യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവു ഇന്നു എത്ര മഹത്വമുള്ളവന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. Then Dauid returned to blesse his housholde, and Michol the daughter of Saul came out to meete Dauid, & sayd: O howe glorious was the king of Israel this day, whiche was vncouered to day in the eyes of the maydens of his seruauntes, as a foole vncouereth him selfe?

21. ദാവീദ് മീഖളിനോടുയഹോവയുടെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിനിയമിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ അപ്പനിലും അവന്റെ സകലഗൃഹത്തിലും ഉപരിയായി എന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ, അതേ, യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ഞാന് നൃത്തം ചെയ്യും.

21. And Dauid sayd vnto Michol: It was before the Lorde, whiche chose me rather then thy father and all his house, and commaunded me to be ruler ouer all the people of the Lorde, euen ouer Israel, and therefore will I play before the Lorde:

22. ഞാന് ഇനിയും ഇതിലധികം ഹീനനും എന്റെ കാഴ്ചെക്കു എളിയവനും ആയിരിക്കും; നീ പറഞ്ഞ ദാസികളാലോ എനിക്കു മഹത്വമുണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And will yet be more vyle then so, and will be meeke in myne owne sight: and of the very same mayde seruauntes which thou hast spoken of, shall I be had in honour.

23. എന്നാല് ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖളിന്നു ജീവപര്യന്തം ഒരു കുട്ടിയും ഉണ്ടായില്ല.

23. Therfore Michol the daughter of Saul had no childe vnto the day of her death.
