1. ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണമേ; എന്റെ യാചനെക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കരുതേ.

1. To the Overseer with stringed instruments. -- An instruction, by David. Give ear, O God, [to] my prayer, And hide not from my supplication.

2. എനിക്കു ചെവിതന്നു ഉത്തരമരുളേണമേ; ശത്രുവിന്റെ ആരവംനിമിത്തവും ദുഷ്ടന്റെ പീഡനിമിത്തവും ഞാന് എന്റെ സങ്കടത്തില് പൊറുതിയില്ലാതെ ഞരങ്ങുന്നു.

2. Attend to me, and answer me, I mourn in my meditation, and make a noise,

3. അവര് എന്റെ മേല് നീതികേടു ചുമത്തുന്നു; കോപത്തോടെ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു.

3. Because of the voice of an enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked, For they cause sorrow to move against me, And in anger they hate me.

4. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളില് വേദനപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; മരണഭീതിയും എന്റെമേല് വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. My heart is pained within me, And terrors of death have fallen on me.

5. ഭയവും വിറയലും എന്നെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പരിഭ്രമം എന്നെ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. Fear and trembling come in to me, And horror doth cover me.

6. പ്രാവിന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ എനിക്കു ചിറകുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്! എന്നാല് ഞാന് പറന്നുപോയി വിശ്രമിക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

6. And I say, 'Who doth give to me a pinion as a dove? I fly away and rest,

7. അതേ, ഞാന് ദൂരത്തു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു, മരുഭൂമിയില് പാര്ക്കുംമായിരുന്നു! സേലാ.

7. Lo, I move far off, I lodge in a wilderness. Selah.

8. കൊടുങ്കാറ്റില്നിന്നും പെരുങ്കാറ്റില്നിന്നും ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഞാന് ഒരു സങ്കേതത്തിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകുമായിരുന്നു!

8. I hasten escape for myself, From a rushing wind, from a whirlwind.

9. കര്ത്താവേ, സംഹരിച്ചു അവരുടെ നാവുകളെ ചീന്തിക്കളയേണമേ. ഞാന് നഗരത്തില് അതിക്രമവും കലഹവും കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Swallow up, O Lord, divide their tongue, For I saw violence and strife in a city.

10. രാവും പകലും അവര് അതിന്റെ മതിലുകളിന്മേല് ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേടും കഷ്ടവും അതിന്റെ അകത്തുണ്ടു.

10. By day and by night they go round it, on its walls. Both iniquity and perverseness [are] in its midst,

11. ദുഷ്ടത അതിന്റെ നടുവില് ഉണ്ടു; ചതിവും വഞ്ചനയും അതിന്റെ വീഥികളെ വിട്ടുമാറുന്നതുമില്ല.

11. Mischiefs [are] in its midst. Fraud and deceit depart not from its street.

12. എന്നെ നിന്ദിച്ചതു ഒരു ശത്രുവല്ല; അങ്ങനെയെങ്കില് ഞാന് സഹിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; എന്റെ നേരെ വമ്പു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നെ പകെക്കുന്നവനല്ല; അങ്ങനെയെങ്കില് ഞാന് മറഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളുമായിരുന്നു.

12. For an enemy reproacheth me not, or I bear [it], He who is hating me Hath not magnified himself against me, Or I hide from him.

13. നീയോ എന്നോടു സമനായ മനുഷ്യനും എന്റെ സഖിയും എന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതനുമായിരുന്നു.

13. But thou, a man -- as mine equal, My familiar friend, and mine acquaintance.

14. നാം തമ്മില് മധുരസമ്പര്ക്കം ചെയ്തു പുരുഷാരവുമായി ദൈവാലയത്തിലേക്കു പോയല്ലോ.

14. When together we sweeten counsel, Into the house of God we walk in company.

15. മരണം പെട്ടെന്നു അവരെ പിടിക്കട്ടെ; അവര് ജീവനോടെ പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങട്ടെ; ദുഷ്ടത അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലത്തും അവരുടെ ഉള്ളിലും ഉണ്ടു.

15. Desolations [are] upon them, They go down [to] Sheol -- alive, For wickedness [is] in their dwelling, in their midst.

16. ഞാനോ ദൈവത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും; യഹോവ എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

16. I -- to God I call, and Jehovah saveth me.

17. ഞാന് വൈകുന്നേരത്തും കാലത്തും ഉച്ചെക്കും സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു കരയും; അവന് എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കും.

17. Evening, and morning, and noon, I meditate, and make a noise, and He heareth my voice,

18. എന്നോടു കയര്ത്തുനിന്നവര് അനേകരായിരിക്കെ ആരും എന്നോടു അടുക്കാതവണ്ണം അവന് എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു സമാധാനത്തിലാക്കി;

18. He hath ransomed in peace my soul From him who is near to me, For with the multitude they were with me.

19. ദൈവം കേട്ടു അവര്ക്കും ഉത്തരം അരുളും; പുരാതനമേ സിംഹാസനസ്ഥനായവന് തന്നേ. സേലാ. അവര്ക്കും മാനസാന്തരമില്ല; അവര് ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.

19. God doth hear and afflict them, And He sitteth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, and fear not God,

20. തന്നോടു സമാധാനമായിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്തു തന്റെ സഖ്യത അവന് ലംഘിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. He hath sent forth his hands against his well-wishers, He hath polluted his covenant.

21. അവന്റെ വായ് വെണ്ണപോലെ മൃദുവായതു; ഹൃദയത്തിലോ യുദ്ധമത്രേ. അവന്റെ വാക്കുകള് എണ്ണയെക്കാള് മയമുള്ളവ; എങ്കിലും അവ ഊരിയ വാളുകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

21. Sweeter than honey hath been his mouth, And his heart [is] war! Softer have been his words than oil, And they [are] drawn [swords].

22. നിന്റെ ഭാരം യഹോവയുടെമേല് വെച്ചുകൊള്ക; അവന് നിന്നെ പുലര്ത്തും; നീതിമാന് കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാന് അവന് ഒരു നാളും സമ്മതിക്കയില്ല.

22. Cast on Jehovah that which He hath given thee, And He doth sustain thee, He doth not suffer for ever the moving of the righteous.

23. ദൈവമേ, നീ അവരെ നാശത്തിന്റെ കുഴിയിലേക്കു ഇറക്കും; രക്തപ്രിയവും വഞ്ചനയും ഉള്ളവര് ആയുസ്സിന്റെ പകുതിയോളം ജീവിക്കയില്ല; ഞാനോ നിന്നില് ആശ്രയിക്കും. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; ദൂരസ്ഥന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് മിണ്ടാത്ത പ്രാവു എന്ന രാഗത്തില്; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സ്വര്ണ്ണഗീതം; ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് അവനെ ഗത്തില് വെച്ചു പിടിച്ചപ്പോള് ചമെച്ചതു.)

23. And Thou, O God, dost bring them down To a pit of destruction, Men of blood and deceit reach not to half their days, And I -- I do trust in Thee!
