1. കൂടക്കൂടെ ശാസന കേട്ടിട്ടും ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നവന് നീക്കുപോക്കില്ലാതെ പെട്ടെന്നു നശിച്ചുപോകും.

1. The one who stiffens his neck after numerous rebukes will suddenly be destroyed without remedy.

2. നീതിമാന്മാര് വര്ദ്ധിക്കുമ്പോള് ജനം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന് ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുമ്പോഴോ ജനം നെടുവീര്പ്പിടുന്നു.

2. When the righteous become numerous, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.

3. ജ്ഞാനത്തില് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വേശ്യകളോടു സഹവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ തന്റെ സമ്പത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

3. The man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but whoever associates with prostitutes wastes his wealth.

4. രാജാവു ന്യായപാലനത്താല് രാജ്യത്തെ നിലനിര്ത്തുന്നു; നികുതി വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനോ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

4. A king brings stability to a land by justice, but one who exacts tribute tears it down.

5. കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു മുഖസ്തുതി പറയുന്നവന് അവന്റെ കാലിന്നു ഒരു വല വിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. The one who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps.

6. ദുഷ്കര്മ്മി തന്റെ ലംഘനത്തില് കുടുങ്ങുന്നു; നീതിമാനോ ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

6. In the transgression of an evil person there is a snare, but a righteous person can sing and rejoice.

7. നീതിമാന് അഗതികളുടെ കാര്യം അറിയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടനോ പരിജ്ഞാനം ഇന്നതെന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല.

7. The righteous person cares for the legal rights of the poor; the wicked does not understand such knowledge.

8. പരിഹാസികള് പട്ടണത്തില് കോപാഗ്നി ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ജ്ഞാനികളോ ക്രോധത്തെ ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

8. Scornful people inflame a city, but those who are wise turn away wrath.

9. ജ്ഞാനിക്കും ഭോഷന്നും തമ്മില് വാഗ്വാദം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു അവന് കോപിച്ചാലോ ചിരിച്ചാലോ ശമനം വരികയില്ല.

9. If a wise person goes to court with a foolish person, there is no peace whether he is angry or laughs.

10. രക്തപാതകന്മാര് നിഷ്കളങ്കനെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവരോ അവന്റെ പ്രാണരക്ഷ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.

10. Bloodthirsty people hate someone with integrity; as for the upright, they seek his life.

11. മൂഢന് തന്റെ കോപത്തെ മുഴുവനും വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനിയോ അതിനെ അടക്കി ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

11. A fool lets fly with all his temper, but a wise person keeps it back.

12. അധിപതി നുണ കേള്പ്പാന് തുടങ്ങിയാല് അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരൊക്കെയും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരാകും.

12. If a ruler listens to lies, all his ministers will be wicked.

13. ദരിദ്രനും പീഡകനും തമ്മില് എതിര്പെടുന്നു; ഇരുവരുടെയും കണ്ണു യഹോവ പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

13. The poor person and the oppressor have this in common: the LORD gives light to the eyes of them both.

14. അഗതികള്ക്കു വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുന്ന രാജാവിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കും.

14. If a king judges the poor in truth, his throne will be established forever.

15. വടിയും ശാസനയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെ നലകുന്നു; തന്നിഷ്ടത്തിന്നു വിട്ടിരുന്ന ബാലനോ അമ്മെക്കു ലജ്ജ വരുത്തുന്നു.

15. A rod and reproof impart wisdom, but a child who is unrestrained brings shame to his mother.

16. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് പെരുകുമ്പോള് അതിക്രമം പെരുകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ അവരുടെ വീഴ്ച കാണും.

16. When the wicked increase, transgression increases, but the righteous will see their downfall.

17. നിന്റെ മകനെ ശിക്ഷിക്ക; അവന് നിനക്കു ആശ്വാസമായ്തീരും; അവന് നിന്റെ മനസ്സിന്നു പ്രമോദംവരുത്തും.

17. Discipline your child, and he will give you rest; he will bring you happiness.

18. വെളിപ്പാടു ഇല്ലാത്തെടത്തു ജനം മര്യാദവിട്ടു നടക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണം കാത്തുകൊള്ളുന്നവനോ ഭാഗ്യവാന് .

18. When there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but the one who keeps the law, blessed is he!

19. ദാസനെ ഗുണീകരിപ്പാന് വാക്കു മാത്രം പോരാ; അവന് അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചാലും കൂട്ടാക്കുകയില്ലല്ലോ.

19. A servant cannot be corrected by words, for although he understands, there is no answer.

20. വാക്കില് ബദ്ധപ്പാടുള്ള മനുഷ്യനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവനെക്കാള് മൂഢനെക്കുറിച്ചു അധികം പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.

20. Do you see someone who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

21. ദാസനെ ബാല്യംമുതല് ലാളിച്ചുവളര്ത്തുന്നവനോടു അവന് ഒടുക്കം ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കും.

21. If someone pampers his servant from youth, he will be a weakling in the end.

22. കോപമുള്ളവന് വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ക്രോധമുള്ളവന് അതിക്രമം വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

22. An angry person stirs up dissension, and a wrathful person is abounding in transgression.

23. മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഗര്വ്വം അവനെ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയും; മനോവിനയമുള്ളവനോ മാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.

23. A person's pride will bring him low, but one who has a lowly spirit will gain honor.

24. കള്ളനുമായി പങ്കു കൂടുന്നവന് സ്വന്ത പ്രാണനെ പകെക്കുന്നു; അവന് സത്യവാചകം കേള്ക്കുന്നു; ഒന്നും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.

24. Whoever shares with a thief is his own enemy; he hears the oath to testify, but does not talk.

25. മാനുഷഭയം ഒരു കണി ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും.

25. The fear of people becomes a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD will be set on high.

26. അനേകര് അധിപതിയുടെ മുഖപ്രസാദം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന്റെ ന്യായവിധിയോ യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു.

26. Many people seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the LORD that one receives justice.

27. നീതികെട്ടവന് നീതിമാന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു; സന്മാര്ഗ്ഗി ദുഷ്ടന്മാര്ക്കും വെറുപ്പു.

27. An unjust person is an abomination to the righteous, and the one who lives an upright life is an abomination to the wicked.
