1. ആ കാലത്തു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മരിക്കത്തക്ക രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഗൃഹകാര്യം ക്രമത്തിലാക്കുക; നീ മരിച്ചുപോകും; സൌഖ്യമാകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. And it came to pass at that time, [that] Hezekiah was sick, even to death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, Thus says the Lord, Give orders concerning your house; for you shall die, and not live.

2. അപ്പോള് ഹിസ്കീയാവു മുഖം ചുവരിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു

2. And Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,

3. അയ്യോ, യഹോവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസ്തതയോടും ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടും കൂടെ തിരുമുമ്പില് നടന്നു നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്ക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു.

3. Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before You in truth, with a true heart, and have done that which was pleasing in Your sight. And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4. എന്നാല് യെശയ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

4. And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, Go and say to Hezekiah,

5. നീ ചെന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണുനിര് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിനോടു പതിനഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം കൂട്ടും.

5. Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, and have seen your tears; behold, I [will] add to your days fifteen years.

6. ഞാന് നിന്നെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും അശ്ശൂര്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ ഞാന് കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കും.

6. And I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians; and I will defend this city.

7. യഹോവ, താന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഈ കാര്യം നിവര്ത്തിക്കും എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം ആകും.

7. And this [shall be] a sign to you from the Lord, that God will do this thing:

8. ആഹാസിന്റെ ഘടികാരത്തില് സൂര്യഗതി അനുസരിച്ചു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്ന നിഴലിനെ ഞാന് പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുമാറാക്കും; ഇങ്ങനെ സൂര്യന് ഘടികാരത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്ന പത്തു പടി തിരിഞ്ഞു പോന്നു.

8. Behold, I will turn back the shadow of the degrees [of the sundial] by ten degrees on the house of your father. I will turn back the sun the ten degrees; so the sun went back the ten degrees by which the shadow had gone down.

9. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു രോഗം പിടിച്ചിട്ടു അതു മാറി സുഖമായ ശേഷം അവന് എഴുതിയ എഴുത്തു

9. The prayer of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered from his sickness:.

10. എന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന് മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നത്തില് ഞാന് പാതാളവാതിലകം പൂകേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; എന്റെ ആണ്ടുകളുടെ ശേഷിപ്പും എനിക്കില്ലാതെ പോയി എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

10. I said in the end of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave; I shall part with the remainder of my years.

11. ഞാന് യഹോവയെ, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു യഹോവയെ കാണുകയില്ല; ഞാന് ഭൂവാസികളുടെ ഇടയില്വെച്ചു ഇനി മനുഷ്യനെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

11. I said, I shall no more see the salvation of God in the land of the living; I shall no more see the salvation of Israel on the earth; I shall no more see man.

12. എന്റെ പാര്പ്പിടം നീങ്ങി ഒരു ഇടയക്കൂടാരം പോലെ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നെയ്ത്തുകാരന് തുണി ചുരുട്ടുംപോലെ ഞാന് എന്റെ ജീവനെ ചുരുട്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; അവന് എന്നെ പാവില്നിന്നു അറുത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല് കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തംവരുത്തുന്നു.

12. [My life] has failed from among my kindred; I have parted with the remainder of my life; it has gone forth and departed from me, as one that has pitched a tent takes it down [again]; my breath was with me as a weaver's web, when she that weaves draws near to cut off [the] thread.

13. ഉഷസ്സുവരെ ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ അടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവനോ സിംഹംപോലെ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ എല്ലാം തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല് കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തം വരുത്തുന്നു.

13. In that day I was given up as to a lion until the morning; so has He broken all my bones; for I was so given up from day [even] to night.

14. മീവല്പക്ഷിയോ കൊക്കോ എന്ന പോലെ ഞാന് ചിലെച്ചു; ഞാന് പ്രാവുപോലെ കുറുകി എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഉയരത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കി ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേ ഞാന് ഞെരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കു ഇട നില്ക്കേണമേ.

14. As a swallow, so will I cry, and as a dove, so do I mourn; for my eyes have failed from looking to the height of heaven to the Lord, who has delivered me,

15. ഞാന് എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? അവന് എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, അവന് തന്നേ നിവര്ത്തിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മനോവ്യസനം ഹേതുവായി ഞാന് എന്റെ കാലമൊക്കെയും സാവധാനത്തോടെ നടക്കും.

15. and removed the sorrow of my soul.

16. കര്ത്താവേ, അതിനാല് മനുഷ്യര് ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജീവനും കേവലം അതിലത്രേ; അങ്ങനെ നീ എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി എന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

16. [Yea], O Lord, for it was told You concerning this; and You have revived my breath; and I am comforted, and live.

17. സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി എനിക്കു അത്യന്തം കൈപ്പായതു ഭവിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്റെ സകലപാപങ്ങളെയും നിന്റെ പിറകില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നാശകൂഴിയില്നിന്നു സ്നേഹത്തോടെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. For You have chosen my soul, that it should not perish; and You have cast all [my] sins behind me.

18. പാതാളം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നില്ല; മരണം നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നില്ല; കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവര് നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തതയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

18. For they that are in the grave shall not praise You, neither shall the dead bless You, neither shall they that are in Hades hope for Your mercy.

19. ഞാന് ഇന്നു ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവനുള്ളവന് , ജീവനുള്ളവന് മാത്രം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും; അപ്പന് മക്കളോടു നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തയെ അറിയിക്കും.

19. The living shall bless You, as I also [do]; for from this day shall I beget children, who shall declare Your righteousness,

20. യഹോവ എന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള് ജീവപര്യന്തം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ എന്റെ ഗീതങ്ങളെ പാടും.

20. O God of my salvation; and I will not cease [from] blessing You with the psaltery all the days of my life before the house of God.

21. എന്നാല് അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പരുവിന്മേല് പുരട്ടുവാന് യെശയ്യാവു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

21. Now Isaiah had said to Hezekiah; Take a cake of figs, and mash them, and apply them as a plaster, and you shall be well.

22. ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് കയറിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നതിന്നു അടയാളം എന്തു എന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നു.

22. And Hezekiah said, This is a sign to Hezekiah, that I shall go up to the house of God.
