1. പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടു, മൂന്നാം മാസം, ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

2. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോനോടും അവന്റെ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് നീ ആര്ക്കും സമന് ?

2. Son of man Say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt and unto his multitude, Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

3. അശ്ശൂര് ലെബാനോനില് ഭംഗിയുള്ള കൊമ്പുകളോടും തണലുള്ള ഇലകളോടും പൊക്കത്തിലുള്ള വളര്ച്ചയോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു ദേവദാരുവായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

3. Lo! Assyria, was a cedar in Lebanon, Beautiful in bough and Dense in foliage and Lofty in stature, and Among the clouds, came to be his top:

4. വെള്ളം അതിനെ വളര്ത്തി ആഴി അതിനെ ഉയരുമാറാക്കി; അതിന്റെ നദികള് തോട്ടത്തെ ചുറ്റി ഒഴുകി, അതു തന്റെ ഒഴുക്കുകളെ വയലിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

4. The waters made him great, the roaring deep, made him high with its currents going round about the place where it was planted, Its channels also, it sent forth unto all the trees of the field.

5. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വളര്ന്നു വയലിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെക്കാളും പൊങ്ങി; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു പടര്ന്നു തന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പെരുക്കി ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടി.

5. For this cause higher, was his stature than any of the trees of the field, And multiplied were his boughs And lengthened were his branches, By reason of the mighty waters when he shot forth shoots.

6. അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളില് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുണ്ടാക്കി; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും പെറ്റുകിടന്നു; അതിന്റെ തണലില് വലിയ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും പാര്ത്തു.

6. Among his branches, all the birds of the heavens I made their nests, And under his boughs, all the wild beasts of the field brought forth I, And in his shade, dwelt all the mighty nations.

7. ഇങ്ങനെ അതിന്റെ വേര് വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അതു വലുതായി കൊമ്പുകളെ നീട്ടി ശോഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

7. Thus became he beautiful in his greatness, In the length of his waving branches, Because his root had gone towards mighty waters. s

8. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ദേവദാരുക്കള്ക്കു അതിനെ മറെപ്പാന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; സരളവൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളോടു തുല്യമായിരുന്നില്ല; അരിഞ്ഞില്വൃക്ഷങ്ങള് അതിന്റെ ചില്ലികളോടു ഒത്തിരുന്നില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു വൃക്ഷവും ഭംഗിയില് അതിനോടു സമമായിരുന്നതുമില്ല.

8. Cedars hid him not. in the garden of God, Fir-trees were not like unto his boughs, Nor plane-trees, like his branches, no, tree in the garden of God, was like unto him in his beauty.

9. കൊമ്പുകളുടെ പെരുപ്പം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അതിന്നു ഭംഗിവരുത്തിയതിനാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തോട്ടമായ ഏദെനിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതിനോടു അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.

9. Beautiful, I made him in the abundance of his waving branches, Therefore was be envied by all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു വളര്ന്നുപൊങ്ങി തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടി അതിന്റെ ഹൃദയം തന്റെ വളര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് ഗര്വ്വിച്ചുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു

10. Therefore Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Because thou hast become lofty in stature, And he hath stretched his top among the clouds, And his heart is exalted in his loftiness.

11. ഞാന് അതിനെ ജാതികളില് ബലവാനായവന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അതിനോടു ഇടപെടും; അതിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത നിമിത്തം ഞാന് അതിനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Let me then deliver him into the hand of the chief of the nations, He shall effectually deal with him! According to his lawlessness, have I driven him out:

12. ജാതികളില് ഉഗ്രന്മാരായ അന്യജാതിക്കാര് അതിനെ വെട്ടി തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകള് മലകളിലും എല്ലാ താഴ്വരകളിലും വീണു; അതിന്റെ ശാഖകള് ദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാതോടുകളുടെയും അരികത്തു ഒടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളും അതിന്റെ തണല് വിട്ടിറങ്ങി അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയി.

12. Therefore have foreigners the terrible of the nations cut him down. And abandoned him, Upon the mountains and in all valleys, have fallen his waving branches And broken have been his boughs in all the river-beds of the land, And all the peoples of the earth have come down out of his shade. And abandoned him:

13. വീണുകിടക്കുന്ന അതിന്റെ തടിമേല് ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവ ഒക്കെയും പാര്ക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലേക്കു കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഒക്കെയും വരും.

13. Upon his trunk, shall settle down all the birds of the heavens, And among his boughs, are to be found all the wild beasts of the field:

14. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെയുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഉയരം ഹേതുവായി ഗര്വ്വിക്കയോ തുഞ്ചം മേഘങ്ങളോളം നീട്ടുകയോ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്നവരായ അവരുടെ സകലബലശാലികളും തങ്ങളുടെ ഉയര്ച്ചയിങ്കല് നിഗളിച്ചു നില്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ; അവരൊക്കെയും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു മരണത്തിന്നു ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. To the end that none of the trees of the waters May exalt themselves in their stature or stretch their top among the clouds, Nor their mighty ones take their stand in their height- any that drink of the waters, Because they all, are delivered to death Unto the earth below. In the midst of the sons of Adam. Amongst them who descend into the pit.

15. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഅതു പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയ നാളില് ഞാന് ഒരു വിലാപം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അതിന്നുവേണ്ടി ആഴത്തെ മൂടി പെരുവെള്ളം കെട്ടിനില്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അതിന്റെ നദികളെ തടുത്തു; അതുനിമിത്തം ഞാന് ലെബാനോനെ കറുപ്പുടുപ്പിച്ചു; കാട്ടിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അതുനിമിത്തം ക്ഷീണിച്ചു പോയി.

15. Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, In the day when he descended into hades, I caused a mourning. I covered over him the roaring deep, And restrained the currents thereof And stayed were the mighty waters, So caused I gloom over him unto Lebanon, And all the trees of the field for him were covered with a shroud.

16. ഞാന് അതിനെ കുഴിയില് ഇറങ്ങുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ പാതാളത്തില് തള്ളിയിട്ടപ്പോള്, അതിന്റെ വീഴ്ചയുടെ മുക്കത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ജാതികളെ നടുങ്ങുമാറാക്കി; ഏദെനിലെ സകല വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ലെബാനോനിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ഉത്തമവുമായി വെള്ളം കുടിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

16. At the sound of his fall, I made nations tremble, When I caused him to descend into hades, with them who descend into the pit, Then were grieved in the earth below-All the trees of Eden, The choicest and best of Lebanon All who had drunk the waters.

17. അവയും അതിനോടുകൂടെ വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പാതാളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അതിന്റെ തുണയായി അതിന്റെ നിഴലില് ജാതികളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാര്ത്തവര് തന്നേ.

17. Even they, with him descended into hades. Among them who were thrust through with the sword, Even his seed who dwelt in his shade in the midst of the nations.

18. അങ്ങനെ നീ മഹത്വത്തിലും വലിപ്പത്തിലും ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളില് ഏതിനോടു തുല്യമാകുന്നു? എന്നാല് നീ ഏദെനിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗത്തു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകേണ്ടിവരും; വാളാല് നിഹതന്മാരായവരോടുകൂടെ നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ ഇടയില് കിടക്കും. ഇതു ഫറവോനും അവന്റെ സകലപുരുഷാരവും തന്നേ എാന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18. Unto whom couldst thou be likened thus, in glory and in greatness, among the trees of Eden? Yet shalt thou be caused to descend with the trees of Eden into the earth below In the midst of the uncircumcised, shalt thou lie down With them who were thrust through by the sword, the same, is Pharaoh and all his multitude, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
