1. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്;

1. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാരോടു പ്രവചിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതുഞാന് ഒരു ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വാള് വരുത്തുമ്പോള്, ആ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്നിന്നു ഒരു പുരുഷനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു കാവല്ക്കാരനായി വെച്ചാല്,

2. Son of man, speak to the sons of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring [a] sword upon the land and the people of the land take a man from [within] their borders and set him up as a watchman;

3. ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വാള് വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന് കാഹളം ഊതി ജനത്തെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോള്

3. and he should see the sword coming upon the land, [if] he should blow the shofar, and warn the people,

4. ആരെങ്കിലും കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടു കരുതിക്കൊള്ളാതെ ഇരുന്നാല് വാള് വന്നു അവനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു എങ്കില് അവന്റെ രക്തം അവന്റെ തലമേല് തന്നേ ഇരിക്കും.

4. then whoever hears the sound of the shofar and does not take warning; and the coming of the sword should take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5. അവന് കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടിട്ടു കരുതിക്കൊണ്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ രക്തം അവന്റെമേല് ഇരിക്കും; കരുതിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

5. He heard the sound of the shofar and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he that takes warning shall deliver his soul.

6. എന്നാല് കാവല്ക്കാരന് വാള് വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു കാഹളം ഊതാതെയും ജനം കരുതിക്കൊള്ളാതെയും ഇരുന്നിട്ടു വാള് വന്നു അവരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു ഒരുത്തനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു എങ്കില്, ഇവന് തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ രക്തം ഞാന് കാവല്ക്കാരനോടു ചോദിക്കും.

6. But if the watchman should see the sword coming and not blow the shofar and the people not be warned, if the sword comes and takes [any] person from among them, he is taken away because of his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.

7. അതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു കാവല്ക്കാരനാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, നീ എന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു വചനം കേട്ടു എന്റെ നാമത്തില് അവരെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തേണം.

7. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth and warn them from me.

8. ഞാന് ദുഷ്ടനോടുദുഷ്ടാ, നീ മരിക്കും എന്നു കല്പിക്കുമ്പോള് ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിവാന് കരുതിക്കൊള്ളത്തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അവനെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കാതെയിരുന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം മരിക്കും; അവന്റെ രക്തമോ ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും.

8. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked [man], thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked [man] shall die for his sin; but I will require his blood at thine hand.

9. എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തീട്ടും അവന് തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിയാഞ്ഞാല്, അവന് തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം മരിക്കും, നീയോ, നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, if he does not turn from his way, he shall die for his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ യിസ്രായേല് ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതുഞങ്ങളുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങളും പാപങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവയാല് ഞങ്ങള് ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു.

10. Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel: Ye speak thus, saying, Our transgressions and our sins [are] upon us, and we are consumed because of them. How should we then live?

11. എന്നാണ, ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മരണത്തില് അല്ല, ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു ജീവിക്കുന്നതില് അത്രേ എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതെന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുര്മ്മാര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുതിരിവിന് , തിരിവിന് ; യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമേ, നിങ്ങള് എന്തിന്നു മരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറക.

11. Say unto them, [As] I live, said the Lord GOD, I do not desire the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and that he live; turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുനീതിമാന് അതിക്രമം ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളില് അവന്റെ നീതി അവനെ രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിയുന്ന നാളില് തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയാല് ഇടറിവീഴുകയില്ല; നീതിമാന് പാപം ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളില്, അവന്നു തന്റെ നീതിയാല് ജീവിപ്പാന് കഴികയുമില്ല.

12. And thou, son of man, say unto the sons of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him the day that he rebels; and the wickedness of the wicked shall not impede him in the day that he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness [in] the day that he sins.

13. നീതിമാന് ജീവിക്കുമെന്നു ഞാന് അവനോടു പറയുമ്പോള്, അവന് തന്റെ നീതിയില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു അകൃത്യം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, അവന്റെ നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികള് ഒന്നും അവന്നു കണക്കിടുകയില്ല; അവന് ചെയ്ത നീതികേടുനിമിത്തം അവന് മരിക്കും.

13. When I am saying to the righteous, Thou shalt shall surely live and he trusting in his own righteousness commits iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it.

14. എന്നാല് ഞാന് ദുഷ്ടനോടുനീ മരിക്കും എന്നു പറയുമ്പോള് അവന് തന്റെ പാപം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയും

14. And, when I am saying unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turns from his sin, and does judgment and righteousness

15. പണയം തിരികെ കൊടുക്കയും അപഹരിച്ചതു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും നീതികേടു ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ ജീവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് അവന് മരിക്കാതെ ജീവിക്കും.

15. [if] the wicked restores the pledge, returns that which he had robbed, walks in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity he shall surely live; he shall not die.

16. അവന് ചെയ്ത പാപം ഒന്നും അവന്നു കണക്കിടുകയില്ല; അവന് നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് ജീവിക്കും.

16. None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned unto him. Has he lived according to judgment and righteousness? He shall surely live.

17. എന്നാല് നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാര്കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ചൊവ്വുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വഴിയത്രേ ചൊവ്വില്ലാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതു.

17. Then the sons of thy people shall say, The way of the Lord is not straight: [but] their way is the one that is not straight.

18. നീതിമാന് തന്റെ നീതി വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതികേടു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് അതിനാല് തന്നേ മരിക്കും.

18. When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die thereby.

19. എന്നാല് ദുഷ്ടന് തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് അതിനാല് ജീവിക്കും.

19. And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does judgment and righteousness, he shall live thereby.

20. എന്നിട്ടും കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ചൊവ്വുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു; യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹമേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങളില് ഔരോരുത്തനെയും അവനവന്റെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ന്യായംവിധിക്കും.

20. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not straight. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you each one after his ways.

21. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാസത്തിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടു, പത്താം മാസം, അഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി, യെരൂശലേമില്നിന്നു ചാടിപ്പോയ ഒരുത്തന് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുനഗരം പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth [month], in the fifth [day of] the month, [that] one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

22. ചാടിപ്പോയവന് വരുന്നതിന്റെ തലെനാള് വൈകുന്നേരം യഹോവയുടെ കൈ എന്റെമേല് വന്നു; രാവിലെ അവന് എന്റെ അടുക്കല് വരുമ്പോഴേക്കു യഹോവ എന്റെ വായ് തുറന്നിരുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ എന്റെ വായ് തുറന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് പിന്നെ മിണ്ടാതെ ഇരുന്നില്ല.

22. Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening before he that was escaped came, and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and he opened my mouth, and I was never dumb again.

23. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ,

23. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

24. യിസ്രായേല്ദേശത്തിലെ ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നവര്അബ്രഹാം ഏകനായിരിക്കെ അവന്നു ദേശം അവകാശമായി ലഭിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളോ പലരാകുന്നു; ഈ ദേശം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു അവകാശമായി ലഭിക്കും എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

24. Son of man, those that inhabit these wastes in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he possessed the land; but we [are] many; the land is given us for a possession.

25. അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് മാംസം രക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ തിന്നുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ നോക്കി നമസ്കരിക്കയും രക്തം ചൊരികയും ചെയ്യുന്നു;

25. Therefore say unto them, Thus hath the Lord GOD said; Ye eat with the blood and lift up your eyes toward your idols and shed blood, and shall ye possess this land?

26. നിങ്ങള് ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുമോ? നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ വാളില് ആശ്രയിക്കയും മ്ളേച്ഛത പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയും ഔരോരുത്തനും തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വഷളാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുമോ?

26. Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile each one his neighbour's wife, and shall ye possess the land?

27. നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഎന്നാണ, ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നവര് വാള്കൊണ്ടു വീഴും; വെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തുള്ളവരെ ഞാന് മൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇരയായി കൊടുക്കും; ദുര്ഗ്ഗങ്ങളിലും ഗുഹകളിലും ഉള്ളവരോ മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.

27. Thou shalt speak unto them like this, Thus hath the Lord GOD said; [As] I live, surely those that [are] in those wastes shall fall by the sword, and he that [is] in the open field I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and those that [are] in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28. ഞാന് ദേശത്തെ പാഴും ശൂന്യവും ആക്കും; അതിന്റെ ബലത്തിന്റെ പ്രതാപം നിന്നുപോകും; യിസ്രായേല്പര്വ്വതങ്ങള് ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും.

28. For I will make the land into desert and solitude, and the pride of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that no one shall pass through.

29. അവര് ചെയ്ത സകല മ്ളേച്ഛതകളും നിമിത്തം ഞാന് ദേശത്തെ പാഴും ശൂന്യവുമാക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് യഹോവ എന്നു അവര് അറിയും.

29. Then they shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I have made the land into solitude and desert because of all their abominations which they have committed.

30. മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാര് മതിലുകള്ക്കരികത്തും വീട്ടുവാതില്ക്കലുംവെച്ചു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സംഭാഷിച്ചുയഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്തെന്നു വന്നു കേള്പ്പിന് എന്നു തമ്മില്തമ്മിലും ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും പറയുന്നു.

30. And thou, son of man, the sons of thy people are still talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses and speak one to another, each one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that comes forth from the LORD.

31. സംഘം കൂടിവരുന്നതുപോലെ അവര് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല്വന്നു എന്റെ ജനമായിട്ടു നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഇരുന്നു നിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേള്ക്കുന്നു; എന്നാല് അവര് അവയെ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; വായ്കൊണ്ടു അവര് വളരെ സ്നേഹം കാണിക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദയമോ, ദുരാഗ്രഹത്തെ പിന്തുടരുന്നു.

31. And they shall come unto thee as the people come, and they shall be before thee, my people, and they shall hear thy words, but they shall not do them; for with their mouth they flatter, [but] their heart goes after their covetousness.

32. നീ അവര്ക്കും മധുരസ്വരവും വാദ്യനൈപുണ്യവും ഉള്ള ഒരുത്തന്റെ പ്രേമഗീതംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് നിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേള്ക്കുന്നു; ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലതാനും.

32. And, behold, thou [art] unto them as a singer of love [songs], one that has a good voice and can sing well: and they shall hear thy words, but they will not do them.

33. എന്നാല് അതു സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോള്--ഇതാ, അതു വരുന്നു--അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു അറിയും.

33. But when this comes to pass (behold, it comes), then they shall know that a prophet has been among them.:
