1. യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

1. The LORD said to Moses,

2. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു സംസാരിച്ചു അവരുടെ പക്കല്നിന്നു ഗോത്രം ഗോത്രമായി സകലഗോത്രപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും ഔരോ വടിവീതം പന്ത്രണ്ടു വടി വാങ്ങി ഔരോരുത്തന്റെ വടിമേല് അവന്റെ പേര് എഴുതുക.

2. 'Tell Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, to remove the censers from the embers; and scatter the fire some distance away,

3. ലേവിയുടെ വടിമേലോ അഹരോന്റെ പേര് എഴുതേണം; ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്നു ഔരോ വടി ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കേണം.

3. for these sinners have consecrated the censers at the cost of their lives. Have them hammered into plates to cover the altar, because in being presented before the LORD they have become sacred. In this way they shall serve as a sign to the Israelites.'

4. സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തില് ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുന്ന ഇടമായ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അവയെ വെക്കേണം.

4. So Eleazar the priest had the bronze censers of those burned during the offering hammered into a covering for the altar,

5. ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നവന്റെ വടി തളിര്ക്കും; ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് നിര്ത്തലാക്കും.

5. in keeping with the orders which the LORD had given him through Moses. This cover was to be a reminder to the Israelites that no layman, no one who was not a descendant of Aaron, should approach the altar to offer incense before the LORD, lest he meet the fate of Korah and his band.

6. മോശെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളോടു സംസാരിക്കയും അവരുടെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ഗോത്രം ഗോത്രമായി ഔരോ പ്രഭു ഔരോ വടിവീതം പന്ത്രണ്ടു വടി അവന്റെ പക്കല് കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്തുവടികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് അഹരോന്റെ വടിയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6. The next day the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying, 'It is you who have slain the LORD'S people.'

7. മോശെ വടികളെ സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരത്തില് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് വെച്ചു.

7. But while the community was deliberating against them, Moses and Aaron turned toward the meeting tent, and the cloud now covered it and the glory of the LORD appeared.

8. പിറ്റെന്നാള് മോശെ സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരത്തില് കടന്നപ്പോള് ലേവിഗൃഹത്തിന്നുള്ള അഹരോന്റെ വടി തളിര്ത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അതു തളിര്ത്തു പൂത്തു ബദാം ഫലം കായിച്ചിരുന്നു.

8. Then Moses and Aaron came to the front of the meeting tent,

9. മോശെ വടികളെല്ലാം യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്നിന്നു എടുത്തു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവര് ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വടി നോക്കിയെടുത്തു.

9. and the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

10. യഹോവ മോശെയോടുഅഹരോന്റെ വടി മത്സരികള്ക്കു ഒരു അടയാളമായി സൂക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പില് തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരിക; അവര് മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു നീ ഇങ്ങനെ നിര്ത്തലാക്കും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

10. 'Depart from this community, that I may consume them at once.' But they fell prostrate.

11. മോശെ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തുയഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവന് ചെയ്തു.

11. Then Moses said to Aaron, 'Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, and bring it quickly to the community to make atonement for them; for wrath has come forth from the LORD and the blow is falling.'

12. അപ്പോള് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള് മോശെയോടുഇതാ, ഞങ്ങള് ചത്തൊടുങ്ങുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് നശിയക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും നശിക്കുന്നു.

12. Obeying the orders of Moses, Aaron took his censer and ran in among the community, where the blow was already falling on the people. Then, as he offered the incense and made atonement for the people,

13. യഹോവയുടെ തിരുനിവാസത്തോടു അടുക്കുന്നവനെല്ലാം ചാകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് ഒക്കെയും ചത്തൊടുങ്ങേണമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. standing there between the living and the dead, the scourge was checked.
