1. ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ശബ്ബത്തില് വിളഭൂമിയില്കൂടി കടന്നുപോയി; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് വിശന്നിട്ടു കതിര് പറിച്ചു തിന്നുതുടങ്ങി
ആവർത്തനം 23:24-25

1. One Sabbath day Jesus walked through the grainfields. His disciples were hungry. So they began to break off some heads of grain and eat them.

2. പരീശര് അതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഇതാ, ശബ്ബത്തില് വിഹിതമല്ലാത്തതു നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. The Pharisees saw this. They said to Jesus, 'Look! It is against the Law to do this on the Sabbath. But your disciples are doing it anyway!'

3. Jesus answered, 'Haven't you read about what David did? He and his men were hungry.

4. So he entered the house of God. He and his men ate the holy bread. Only priests were allowed to eat it.

5. Haven't you read the Law? It tells how every Sabbath day the priests in the temple have to do their work on that day. But they are not considered guilty.

6. I tell you that one who is more important than the temple is here.

7. Scripture says, 'I want mercy and not sacrifice.'--(Hosea 6:6) You don't know what those words mean. If you did, you would not bring charges against those who are not guilty.

8. The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath day.'

9. അവന് അവിടം വിട്ടു അവരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നപ്പോള്, കൈ വരണ്ട ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

9. Going on from that place, Jesus went into their synagogue.

10. അവര് അവനില് കുറ്റം ചുമത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു ശബ്ബത്തില് സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. A man with a weak and twisted hand was there. The Pharisees were trying to find fault with Jesus. So they asked him, 'Does the Law allow us to heal on the Sabbath day?'

11. അവന് അവരോടു“നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന്നു ഒരു ആടുണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതു ശബ്ബത്തില് കുഴിയില് വീണാല് അവന് അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു കയറ്റുകയില്ലയോ?

11. He said to them, 'What if one of your sheep falls into a pit on the Sabbath? Won't you take hold of it and lift it out?

12. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യന് ആടിനെക്കാള് എത്ര വിശേഷതയുള്ളവന് . ആകയാല് ശബ്ബത്തില് നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതു വിഹിതം തന്നേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

12. A man is worth more than sheep! So the Law allows us to do good on the Sabbath day.'

13. പിന്നെ ആ മനുഷ്യനോടു“കൈ നീട്ടുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവന് നീട്ടി, അതു മറ്റേതുപോലെ സൌഖ്യമായി.

13. Then Jesus said to the man, 'Stretch out your hand.' So he stretched it out. It was as good as new, just as good as the other hand.

14. പരീശന്മാരോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു അവനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വേണ്ടി അവന്നു വിരോധമായി തമ്മില് ആലോചിച്ചു.

14. But the Pharisees went out and planned how to kill Jesus.

15. യേശു അതു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവിടം വിട്ടുപോയി, വളരെ പേര് അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; അവന് അവരെ ഒക്കെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കി,

15. Jesus knew all about the Pharisees' plans. So he left that place. Many followed him, and he healed all their sick people.

16. തന്നെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കരുതു എന്നു അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു.

16. But he warned them not to tell who he was.

17. “ഇതാ, ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത എന്റെ ദാസന് , എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ പ്രിയന് ; ഞാന് എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ അവന്റെമേല് വേക്കും; അവന് ജാതികള്ക്കു ന്യായവിധി അറിയിക്കും.”

17. This was to make what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah come true. It says,

18. അവന് കലഹിക്കയില്ല, നിലവിളിക്കയില്ല; ആരും തെരുക്കളില് അവന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേള്ക്കയുമില്ല.

18. Here is my servant. I have chosen him. He is the one I love. I am very pleased with him. I will put my Spirit on him. He will announce to the nations that everything will be made right.

19. ചതഞ്ഞ ഔട അവന് ഒടിച്ചുകളകയില്ല; പുകയുന്ന തിരി കെടുത്തുകളകയില്ല; അവന് ന്യായവിധി ജയത്തോളം നടത്തും.

19. He will not argue or cry out. No one will hear his voice in the streets.

20. അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് ജാതികള് പ്രത്യാശവേക്കും”

20. He will not break a bent twig. He will not put out a dimly burning flame. He will make everything right.

21. എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു നിവൃത്തി ആകുവാന് സംഗതിവന്നു.

21. The nations will put their hope in him.' --(Isaiah 42:1?4)

22. അനന്തരം ചിലര് കുരുടനും ഊമനുമായോരു ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ഊമന് സംസാരിക്കയും കാണ്കയും ചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന് അവനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.

22. A man controlled by demons was brought to Jesus. The man was blind and could not speak. Jesus healed him. Then the man could speak and see.

23. പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും വിസ്മയിച്ചുഇവന് ദാവീദ് പുത്രന് തന്നേയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. All the people were amazed. They said, 'Could this be the Son of David?'

24. അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു പരീശന്മാര്ഇവന് ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനായ ബെയെത്സെബൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടല്ലാതെ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. The Pharisees heard this. So they said, 'This fellow drives out demons by the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons.'

25. അവന് അവരുടെ നിരൂപണം അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ഒരു രാജ്യം തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില് ശൂന്യമാകും;
1 ശമൂവേൽ 16:7

25. Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he said to them, 'Every kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed. Every city or family that is divided against itself will not stand.

26. ഒരു പട്ടണമോ ഗൃഹമോ തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു എങ്കില് നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല. സാത്താന് സാത്താനെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് തന്നില് തന്നേ ഛിദ്രിച്ചു പോയല്ലോ; പിന്നെ അവന്റെ രാജ്യം എങ്ങനെ നിലനിലക്കും?

26. If Satan drives out Satan, he fights against himself. Then how can his kingdom stand?

27. ഞാന് ബെയെത്സെബൂലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കില്, നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള് ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു പുറത്താക്കുന്നു? അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ന്യായാധിപന്മാര് ആകും.

27. You say I drive out demons by the power of Beelzebub. Then by whose power do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.

28. ദൈവാത്മാവിനാല് ഞാന് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു സ്പഷ്ടം.

28. But suppose I drive out demons by the Spirit of God. Then God's kingdom has come to you.

29. ബലവാനെ പിടിച്ചു കെട്ടീട്ടല്ലാതെ ബലവാന്റെ വീട്ടില് കടന്നു അവന്റെ കോപ്പു കവര്ന്നുകളവാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടിയാല് പിന്നെ അവന്റെ വീടു കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യാം.
യെശയ്യാ 49:24

29. 'Or think about this. How can you enter a strong man's house and just take what the man owns? You must first tie him up. Then you can rob his house.

30. എനിക്കു അനുകൂലമല്ലാത്തവന് എനിക്കു പ്രതിക്കുലം ആകുന്നു; എന്നോടുകൂടെ ചേര്ക്കാത്തവന് ചിതറിക്കുന്നു.

30. 'Anyone who is not with me is against me. Anyone who does not gather sheep with me scatters them.

31. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതുസകലപാപവും ദൂഷണവും മനുഷ്യരോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും; ആത്മാവിന്നു നേരെയുള്ള ദൂഷണമോ ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

31. So here is what I tell you. Every sin and every evil word spoken against God will be forgiven. But speaking evil things against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

32. ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന്നു നേരെ ഒരു വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞാല് അതു അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും; പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്നു നേരെ പറഞ്ഞാലോ ഈ ലോകത്തിലും വരുവാനുള്ളതിലും അവനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.

32. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven. But anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. A person like that won't be forgiven either now or in days to come.

33. ഒന്നുകില് വൃക്ഷം നല്ലതു, ഫലവും നല്ലതു എന്നു വെപ്പിന് ; അല്ലായ്കില് വൃക്ഷം ചീത്ത, ഫലവും ചീത്ത എന്നു വെപ്പിന് ; ഫലം കൊണ്ടല്ലോ വൃക്ഷം അറിയുന്നതു.

33. 'If you make a tree good, its fruit will be good. If you make a tree bad, its fruit will be bad. You can tell a tree by its fruit.

34. സര്പ്പസന്തതികളെ, നിങ്ങള് ദുഷ്ടരായിരിക്കെ നല്ലതു സംസാരിപ്പാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? ഹൃദയം നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്നതില് നിന്നല്ലോ വായ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു.

34. 'You nest of poisonous snakes! How can you who are evil say anything good? Your mouths say everything that is in your hearts.

35. നല്ല മനുഷ്യന് തന്റെ നല്ല നിക്ഷേപത്തില്നിന്നു നല്ലതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യന് ദുര്ന്നിക്ഷേപത്തില്നിന്നു തീയതു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

35. A good man says good things. These come from the good that is put away inside him. An evil man says evil things. These come from the evil that is put away inside him.

36. എന്നാല് മനുഷ്യര് പറയുന്ന ഏതു നിസ്സാരവാക്കിന്നും ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തില് കണകൂ ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടിവരും എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

36. But here is what I tell you. On judgment day, people will have to account for every careless word they have spoken.

37. നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാല് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും നിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാല് കുറ്റം വിധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.”

37. By your words you will be found guilty or not guilty.'

38. അപ്പോള് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരിലും പരീശന്മാരിലും ചിലര് അവനോടുഗുരോ, നീ ഒരു അടയാളം ചെയ്തുകാണ്മാന് ഞങ്ങള് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

38. Some of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law came to Jesus. They said, 'Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you.'

39. “ദോഷവും വ്യഭിചാരവുമുള്ള തലമുറ അടയാളം തിരയുന്നു; യോനാപ്രവാചകന്റെ അടയാളമല്ലാതെ അതിന്നു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല.

39. He answered, 'Evil and unfaithful people ask for a miraculous sign! But none will be given except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

40. യോനാ കടലാനയുടെ വയറ്റില് മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും ഇരുന്നതു പോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉള്ളില് ഇരിക്കും.
യോനാ 1:17

40. Jonah was in the stomach of a huge fish for three days and three nights. Something like that will happen to the Son of Man. He will spend three days and three nights in the grave.

41. നീനെവേക്കാര് ന്യായവിധിയില് ഈ തലമുറയോടു ഒന്നിച്ചു എഴുന്നേറ്റു അതിനെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും; അവര് യോനയുടെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടുവല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഇവിടെ യോനയിലും വലിയവന് .

41. The men of Nineveh will stand up on judgment day with the people now living. And the Ninevites will prove that those people are guilty. The men of Nineveh turned away from their sins when Jonah preached to them. And now one who is more important than Jonah is here.

42. 'The Queen of the South will stand up on judgment day with the people now living. And she will prove that they are guilty. She came from very far away to listen to Solomon's wisdom. And now one who is more important than Solomon is here.

43. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നീരില്ലാത്ത സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് കൂടി തണുപ്പു അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ലതാനും.

43. 'What happens when an evil spirit comes out of a man? It goes through dry areas looking for a place to rest. But it doesn't find it.

44. ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന എന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നു അവന് പറയുന്നു; ഉടനെ വന്നു, അതു ഒഴിഞ്ഞതും അടിച്ചുവാരി അലങ്കരിച്ചതുമായി കാണുന്നു.

44. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives there, it finds the house empty. The house has been swept clean and put in order.

45. പിന്നെ അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു, തന്നിലും ദുഷ്ടതയേറിയ വേറെ ഏഴു ആത്മാക്കളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; അവരും അവിടെ കയറി പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പിന്നത്തെ സ്ഥിതി മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വല്ലാതെ ആകും; ഈ ദുഷ്ടതലമുറെക്കും അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കും.”

45. Then the evil spirit goes and takes with it seven other spirits more evil than itself. They go in and live there. That man is worse off than before. That is how it will be with the evil people of today.'

46. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കയില് അവന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും അവനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുറത്തു നിന്നു.

46. While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside. They wanted to speak to him.

47. ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുനിന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുറത്തുനിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

47. Someone told him, 'Your mother and brothers are standing outside. They want to speak to you.'

48. അതു പറഞ്ഞവനോടു അവന് “എന്റെ അമ്മ ആര് എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാര് ആര്” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

48. Jesus replied to him, 'Who is my mother? And who are my brothers?'

49. ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി“ഇതാ, എന്റെ അമ്മയും എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും.

49. Jesus pointed to his disciples. He said, 'Here is my mother! Here are my brothers!

50. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവന് എന്റെ സഹോദരനും സഹോദരിയും അമ്മയും ആകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

50. Anyone who does what my Father in heaven wants is my brother or sister or mother.'
