1. ജാതികളും ദൈവവചനം കൈകൊണ്ടു എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും യെഹൂദ്യയിലുള്ള സഹോദരന്മാരും കേട്ടു.

1. Now the Apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judaea heard that, the nations also, had welcomed the word of God.

2. പത്രൊസ് യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാര് അവനോടു വാദിച്ചു

2. And, when Peter came up unto Jerusalem, they of the circumcision began to find fault with him,

3. നീ അഗ്രചര്മ്മികളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. Saying he went in unto men uncircumcised, and did eat with them.

4. പത്രൊസ് കാര്യം ആദിമുതല് ക്രമമായി അവരോടു വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു

4. But Peter, making a beginning, went on to set forth the matter unto them in order, saying

5. ഞാന് യോപ്പാപട്ടണത്തില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള് വിവശതയില് ഒരുദര്ശനം കണ്ടുആകാശത്തില്നിന്നു നാലു കോണും കെട്ടി ഇറക്കിയ വലിയ തുപ്പട്ടിപോലെ ഒരു പാത്രം എന്റെ അടുക്കലോളം വന്നു.

5. I was in the city of Joppa praying, and saw in a trance, a vision: coming down a sort of vessel, like a large sheet, by four corners, being let down out of heaven, and it came even unto me:

6. അതില് ഞാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കിയപ്പോള് ഭൂമിയിലെ നാല്ക്കാലികളെയും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഇഴജാതികളെയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെയും കണ്ടു

6. Into which steadfastly looking, began to observe, and saw the quadrupeds of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of heaven.

7. പത്രൊസേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അറുത്തു തിന്നുക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറയുന്നോരു ശബ്ദവും കേട്ടു.

7. Moreover heard a voice also, saying unto me Rise, Peter! slay and eat.

8. അതിന്നു ഞാന് ഒരിക്കലും പാടില്ല, കര്ത്താവേ; മലിനമോ അശുദ്ധമോ ആയതൊന്നും ഒരിക്കലും എന്റെ വായില് ചെന്നിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. But I said By no means, Lord, because, a common or unclean thing, hath at no time entered into my mouth.

9. ആ ശബ്ദം പിന്നെയും ആകാശത്തില് നിന്നുദൈവം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതു നീ മലിനം എന്നു വിചാരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

9. And a voice answered, a second time, out of heaven What things, God, hath cleansed, be not, thou, making common.

10. ഇതു മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഉണ്ടായി; പിന്നെ എല്ലാം തിരികെ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു.

10. And, this, took place thrice, and the whole was drawn up again into heaven;

11. അപ്പോള് തന്നേ കൈസര്യയില് നിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചിരുന്ന മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാര് ഞങ്ങള് പാര്ത്ത വീട്ടിന്റെ മുമ്പില് നിന്നിരുന്നു;

11. And lo! immediately, three men halted at the house wherein we were, sent from Caesarea unto me.

12. ഒന്നും സംശയിക്കാതെ അവരോടുകൂടെ പോകുവാന് ആത്മാവു എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചു. ഈ ആറു സഹോദരന്മാരും എന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു.

12. And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. And there went with me these six brethren also; and we entered into the house of the man,

13. അവന് തന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഒരു ദൂതന് നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു എന്നും നീ യോപ്പയിലേക്കു ആളയച്ചു പത്രൊസ് എന്നു മറുപേരുള്ള ശിമോനെ വരുത്തുക;

13. And he related to us how he had seen the messenger in his house, standing, and saying Send away unto Joppa, and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter;

14. നീയും നിന്റെ ഗൃഹം മുഴുവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള വാക്കുകളെ അവന് നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കും എന്നു ദൂതന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നും ഞങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

14. Who shall speak words unto thee, whereby thou shall be saved, thou, and all thy house.

15. ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴേക്കു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ആദിയില് നമ്മുടെമേല് എന്നപോലെ അവരുടെ മേലും വന്നു.

15. And, as I began to be speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as upon us also at the beginning.

16. അപ്പോള് ഞാന് യോഹന്നാന് വെള്ളംകൊണ്ടു സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കോ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്നാനം ലഭിക്കും എന്നു കര്ത്താവു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഔര്ത്തു.

16. And I was put in mind of the word of the Lord, how he used to say John, indeed, immersed with water; but, ye, shall be immersed in Holy Spirit.

17. ആകയാല് കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവരായ നമുക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ അതേ ദാനത്തെ അവര്ക്കും ദൈവം കൊടുത്തു എങ്കില് ദൈവത്തെ തടുപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് ആര്?

17. If therefore the like free-gift God gave unto them, as even unto us, when we had believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who was, I, that could withstand God?

18. അവര് ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോള് മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നുഅങ്ങനെ ആയാല് ദൈവം ജാതികള്ക്കും ജീവപ്രാപ്തിക്കായി മാനസാന്തരം നല്കിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

18. And, having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying Hence, even unto the nations, God hath granted repentance unto life.

19. സ്തെഫാനൊസ് നിമിത്തം ഉണ്ടായ ഉപദ്രവം ഹേതുവാല് ചിതറിപ്പോയവര് യെഹൂദന്മാരോടല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരോടും വചനം സംസാരിക്കാതെ ഫൊയ്നിക്യാ, കുപ്രൊസ്, അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യ എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളോളം സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

19. They, therefore, who had been scattered abroad by reason of the tribulation that took place on account of Stephen, passed through as far as Phoenice and Cyprus and Antioch, unto no one speaking the word, save alone unto Jews.

20. അവരില് ചിലര് കുപ്രൊസ്കാരും കുറേനക്കാരും ആയിരുന്നു; അവര് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്എത്തിയശേഷം യവനന്മാരോടും കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു.

20. And there were some from among them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who, indeed, coming unto Antioch, began speaking, even unto the Grecian Jews, announcing the glad tidings as to the Lord Jesus;

21. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കൈ അവരോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വലിയൊരു കൂട്ടം വിശ്വസിച്ചു കര്ത്താവിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു.

21. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number they who believed turned unto the Lord.

22. അവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ വര്ത്തമാനം യെരൂശലേമിലെ സഭയുടെ ചെവിയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് അവര് ബര്ന്നബാസിനെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയോളം പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

22. And the matter was reported in the hearing of the assembly that was in Jerusalem, concerning them; and they sent forth Barnabas, as far as Antioch;

23. അവന് ചെന്നു ദൈവകൃപ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു. എല്ലാവരും ഹൃദയനിര്ണ്ണയത്തോടെ കര്ത്താവിനോടു ചേര്ന്നുനില്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

23. Who, arriving, and seeing the favour which was of God, rejoiced, and went on to beseech all, with the purpose of their heart, to abide in the Lord;

24. അവന് നല്ല മനുഷ്യനും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാലും വിശ്വാസത്താലും നിറഞ്ഞവനും ആയിരുന്നു; വളരെ പുരുഷന്മാരും കര്ത്താവിനോടു ചേര്ന്നു.

24. Because he was a good man, and full of Holy Spirit and faith; and a considerable multitude were added unto the Lord.

25. അവന് ശൌലിനെ തിരവാന് തര്സൊസിലേക്കു പോയി, അവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയാറെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

25. He went away, however, unto Tarsus, to seek up Saul;

26. അവര് ഒരു സംവത്സരം മുഴുവനും സഭായോഗങ്ങളില് കൂടുകയും ബഹുജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; ആദ്യം അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ക്കും ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികള് എന്നു പേര് ഉണ്ടായി.

26. And, finding him, he brought him unto Antioch. And so it was with them, that, for a whole year, they were brought together in the assembly, and taught a considerable multitude; also that the disciples, first in Antioch, were called, Christians.

27. ആ കാലത്തു യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു പ്രവാചകന്മാര് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു വന്നു.

27. Now, in these days, there came down from Jerusalem, prophets, unto Antioch.

28. അവരില് അഗബൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളൊരുവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ലോകത്തില് ഒക്കെയും മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ആത്മാവിനാല് പ്രവചിച്ചു; അതു ക്ളൌദ്യൊസിന്റെ കാലത്തു സംഭവിച്ചു.

28. And one from among them, by name Agabus, rising up, gave a sign, through means of the Spirit, that, a great famine, was coming over all the inhabited earth; which, indeed, came to pass under Claudius.

29. അപ്പോള് യെഹൂദ്യയില് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഉതവിക്കായി ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഔരോരുത്തന് പ്രാപ്തിപോലെ കൊടുത്തയപ്പാന് നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

29. And, according as any one of the disciples was being prospered, they each one of them set apart something for ministering, to send unto the brethren, who dwelt in Jerusalem;

30. അവര് അതു നടത്തി, ബര്ന്നബാസിന്റെയും ശൌലിന്റെയും കയ്യില് മൂപ്പന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

30. Which thing they also did, sending it unto the Elders, through the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
