1. After we said goodbye to the elders, we sailed away straight to Cos island. The next day we went to the island of Rhodes, and from there we went to Patara.

2. There we found a ship that was going to the area of Phoenicia. We got on the ship and sailed away.

3. കുപ്രോസ് ദ്വീപു കണ്ടു അതിനെ ഇടത്തുപുറം വിട്ടു സുറിയയിലേക്കു ഔടി സോരില് വന്നിറങ്ങി; കപ്പല് അവിടെ ചരകൂ ഇറക്കുവാനുള്ളതായിരുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള് ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടെത്തി, ഏഴുനാള് അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു.

3. We sailed near the island of Cyprus. We could see it on the north side, but we did not stop. We sailed to the country of Syria. We stopped at Tyre because the ship needed to unload its cargo there.

4. അവര് പൌലൊസിനോടു യെരൂശലേമില് പോകുരുതു എന്നു ആത്മാവിനാല് പറഞ്ഞു.

4. We found the Lord's followers there and stayed with them for seven days. They warned Paul not to go to Jerusalem because of what the Spirit had told them.

5. But when our time there was up, we returned to the ship to continue our trip. All the followers, even the women and children, came with us to the seashore. We all knelt down on the beach, prayed,

6. ഞങ്ങള് സോര് വിട്ടു കപ്പലോട്ടം തികെച്ചു പ്തൊലെമായിസില് എത്തി സഹോദരന്മാരെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തു ഒരു ദിവസം അവരോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തു.

6. and said goodbye. Then we got on the ship, and the followers went home.

7. പിറ്റെന്നാള് ഞങ്ങള് പുറപ്പെട്ടു കൈസര്യയില് എത്തി, ഏഴുവരില് ഒരുവനായ ഫിലപ്പൊസ് എന്ന സുവിശേഷകന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തു.

7. We continued our trip from Tyre and went to the city of Ptolemais. We greeted our brothers and sisters in God's family there and stayed with them one day.

8. അവന്നു കന്യകമാരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവരുമായ നാലു പുത്രിമാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

8. The next day we left Ptolemais and went to the city of Caesarea. We went into the home of Philip and stayed with him. He had the work of telling the Good News. He was one of the seven helpers.

9. He had four unmarried daughters who had the gift of prophesying.

10. After we had been there for several days, a prophet named Agabus came from Judea.

11. ഇതു കേട്ടാറെ യെരൂശലേമില് പോകരുതു എന്നു ഞങ്ങളും അവിടത്തുകാരും അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

11. He came to us and borrowed Paul's belt. He used it to tie his own hands and feet. He said, 'The Holy Spirit tells me, 'This is how the Jews in Jerusalem will tie up the man who wears this belt. Then they will hand him over to people who don't know God.''

12. അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്നിങ്ങള് കരഞ്ഞു എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഇങ്ങനെ തകര്ക്കുംന്നതു എന്തു? കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെടുവാന് മാത്രമല്ല യെരൂശലേമില് മരിപ്പാനും ഞാന് ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

12. When we heard this, we and the other followers there begged Paul not to go to Jerusalem.

13. അവനെ സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചുകൂടായ്കയാല്കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നടക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങള് മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

13. But he said, 'Why are you crying and making me feel so sad? I am willing to be put in jail in Jerusalem. I am even ready to die for the name of the Lord Jesus!'

14. അവിടത്തെ താമസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞങ്ങള് യാത്രെക്കു കോപ്പുകൂട്ടി യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോയി.

14. We could not persuade him to stay away from Jerusalem. So we stopped begging him and said, 'We pray that what the Lord wants will be done.'

15. കൈസര്യയിലെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ചിലരും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പോന്നു, കുപ്രൊസ്കാരനായ മ്നാസോന് എന്ന ഒരു പഴയശിഷ്യനോടുകൂടെ അതിഥികളായ്പാര്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

15. After this, we got ready and left for Jerusalem.

16. യെരൂശലേമില് എത്തിപ്പോള് സഹോദരന്മാര് ഞങ്ങളെ സന്തോഷത്തോട കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.

16. Some of the followers of Jesus from Caesarea went with us. These followers took us to the home of Mnason, a man from Cyprus, who was one of the first people to be a follower of Jesus. They took us to his home so that we could stay with him.

17. പിറ്റെന്നു പൌലെസും ഞങ്ങളും യാക്കോബിന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോയി; മൂപ്പന്മാരും എല്ലാം അവിടെ വന്നു കൂടി.

17. The brothers and sisters in Jerusalem were very happy to see us.

18. അവന് അവരെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തു തന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷയാല് ദൈവം ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ചെയ്യിച്ചതു ഔരോന്നായി വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. The next day Paul went with us to visit James, and all the elders were there.

19. അവര് കേട്ടു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി. പിന്നെ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുസഹോദരാ, യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവര് എത്ര ആയിരം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവര് എല്ലാവരും ന്യായ പ്രമാണതല്പരന്മാര് ആകുന്നു.

19. After greeting them, Paul told them point by point all that God had used him to do among the non- Jewish people.

20. മക്കളെ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും നീ മര്യാദ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കരുതു എന്നും നീ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള സകല യെഹൂദന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞു മോശെയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളവാന് ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവര് നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. When the leaders heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul, 'Brother, you can see that thousands of Jews have become believers, but they think it is very important to obey the Law of Moses.

21. ആകയാല് എന്താകുന്നു വേണ്ടതു? നീവന്നിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് കേള്ക്കും നിശ്ചയം.

21. They have been told that you teach the Jews who live in non-Jewish regions to stop following the Law of Moses. They have heard that you tell them not to circumcise their sons or follow our other customs.

22. ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടു ഈ പറയുന്നതു ചെയ്ക; നേര്ച്ചയുള്ള നാലു പുരുഷന്മാര് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടു.

22. What should we do? The Jewish believers here will learn that you have come.

23. അവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നെ ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തി അവരുടെ തല ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി ചെലവു ചെയ്ക; എന്നാല് നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു കേട്ടതു ഉള്ളതല്ല എന്നും നീയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ആചരിച്ചു ക്രമമായി നടക്കുന്നവന് എന്നും എല്ലാവരും അറിയും.

23. So we will tell you what to do: Four of our men have made a vow to God.

24. Take these men with you and share in their cleansing ceremony. Pay their expenses so that they can shave their heads. This will prove to everyone that the things they have heard about you are not true. They will see that you obey the Law of Moses in your own life.

25. അങ്ങനെ പൌലൊസ് ആ പുരുഷന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പിറ്റെന്നാള് അവരോടുകൂടെ തന്നെ ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തി ദൈവാലയത്തില് ചെന്നു; അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തന്നുവേണ്ടി വഴിപാടു കഴിപ്പാനുള്ള ശുദ്ധീകരണകാലം തികഞ്ഞു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

25. In regard to the non-Jewish believers, we have already sent a letter to them saying what we think they should do: 'Don't eat food that has been given to idols. Don't eat meat from animals that have been strangled or any meat that still has the blood in it. Don't be involved in sexual sin.''

26. ആ ഏഴു ദിവസം തീരാറായപ്പോള് ആസ്യയില് നിന്നു വന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തില് കണ്ടിട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഒക്കെയും ഇളക്കി അവനെ പിടിച്ചു;

26. So Paul took the four men with him. The next day he shared in their cleansing ceremony. Then he went to the Temple area and announced the time when the days of the cleansing ceremony would be finished. On the last day an offering would be given for each of the men.

27. യിസ്രായേല്പുരുഷന്മാരേ, സഹായിപ്പിന് ഇവന് ആകുന്നു ജനത്തിന്നും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നും വിരോധമായി എല്ലായിടത്തും എല്ലാവരെയും ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നവന് ; അവന് യവനന്മാരെയും ദൈവാലയത്തില് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഈ വിശുദ്ധ സ്ഥലം തീണ്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു വിളിച്ചുക്കുകി.

27. When the seven-day period was almost finished, some Jews from Asia saw Paul in the Temple area. They stirred up everyone into an angry mob. They grabbed Paul

28. and shouted, 'Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who is teaching things that are against the Law of Moses, against our people, and against this Temple of ours. This is what he teaches people everywhere. And now he has brought some Greeks into the Temple area and has made this holy place unclean!'

29. നഗരം എല്ലാം ഇളകി ജനം ഔടിക്കൂടി പൌലൊസിനെ പിടിച്ചു ദൈവാലയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; ഉടനെ വാതിലുകള് അടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

29. (The Jews said this because they had seen Trophimus with Paul in Jerusalem. Trophimus was a man from Ephesus. The Jews thought that Paul had taken him into the holy area of the Temple.)

30. അവര് അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാന് ശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോള് യെരൂശലേം ഒക്കെയും കലക്കത്തില് ആയി എന്നു പട്ടാളത്തിന്റെ സഹസ്രാധിപന്നു വര്ത്തമാനം എത്തി.

30. An angry reaction spread throughout the city, and everyone came running to the Temple. They grabbed Paul and dragged him out of the holy area, and the gates were closed immediately.

31. അവന് ക്ഷണത്തില് പടയാളികളെയും ശതാധിപന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുവന്നു; അവര് സഹസ്രാധിപനെയും പടയാളികളെയും കണ്ടപ്പോള് പൌലൊസിനെ അടിക്കുന്നത് നിറുത്തി.

31. While they were trying to kill Paul, the commander of the Roman army in Jerusalem got word that the whole city was in a state of riot.

32. സഹസ്രാധിപന് അടത്തുവന്നു അവനെ പിടിച്ചു രണ്ടു ചങ്ങലവെപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു; ആര് എന്നും എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നും ചോദിച്ചു.

32. Immediately the commander ran to where the crowd had gathered, taking with him some army officers and soldiers. When the people saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

33. പുരുഷാരത്തില് ചിലര് ഇങ്ങനെയും ചിലര് അങ്ങനെയും നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; ആരവാരം ഹേതുവായി നിശ്ചയം ഒന്നും അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടായ്കയാല് അവനെ കോട്ടയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു.

33. The commander went over to Paul and arrested him. He told his soldiers to tie him up with two chains. Then he asked, 'Who is this man? What has he done wrong?'

34. പടിക്കെട്ടിന്മേല്ആയപ്പോള്അവനെ കൊന്നുകളക എന്നു ആര്ത്തുകൊണ്ടു ജന സമൂഹം പിന് ചെല്ലുകയാല്

34. Some people there were shouting one thing, and others were shouting something else. Because of all this confusion and shouting, the commander could not learn the truth about what had happened. So he told the soldiers to take Paul to the army building.

35. പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ബലാല്ക്കാരം പേടിച്ചിട്ടു പടയാളികള് അവനെ എടുക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

35. The whole crowd was following them. When the soldiers came to the steps, they had to carry Paul. They did this to protect him, because the people were ready to hurt him. The people were shouting, 'Kill him!'

36. കോട്ടയില് കടക്കുമാറായപ്പോള് പൌലൊസ് സഹസ്രാധിപനോടുഎനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു വാക്കു പറയാമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവന് നിനക്കു യവനഭാഷ അറിയാമോ?

37. കുറെ നാള് മുമ്പെ കലഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കി നാലായിരം കട്ടാരക്കാരെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയ മിസ്രയീമ്യന് നീ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

37. When the soldiers were ready to take Paul into the army building, he asked the commander, 'Can I say something to you?' The commander said, 'Oh, you speak Greek?

38. അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്ഞാന് കിലിക്യയില് തര്സൊസ് എന്ന പ്രസിദ്ധനഗരത്തിലെ പൌരനായോരു യെഹൂദന് ആകുന്നു. ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് അനുവദിക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

38. Then you are not the man I thought you were. I thought you were the Egyptian who started some trouble against the government not long ago and led four thousand terrorists out to the desert.'

39. അവന് അനുവദിച്ചപ്പോള് പൌലൊസ് പടിക്കെട്ടിന്മേല് നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു ജനത്തോടു ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടി, വളരെ മൌനമായ ശേഷം എബ്രായഭാഷയില് വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതാവിതു

39. Paul said, 'No, I am a Jew from Tarsus in the country of Cilicia. I am a citizen of that important city. Please, let me speak to the people.'
