1. സര്ദ്ദിസിലെ സഭയുടെ ദൂതന്നു എഴുതുക. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഏഴാത്മാവും ഏഴു നക്ഷത്രവും ഉള്ളവന് അരുളിച്ചെയുന്നതുഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി അറിയുന്നു. ജീവനുള്ളവന് എന്നു നിനക്കു പേര് ഉണ്ടു എങ്കിലും നീ മരിച്ചവനാകുന്നു.

1. ANd write vnto the Angel of the Church which is at Sardis, These things saith he that hath the seuen Spirits of God, and the seuen starres, I knowe thy workes: for thou hast a name that thou liuest, but thou art dead.

2. ഉണര്ന്നുകൊള്ക; ചാവാറായ ശേഷിപ്പുകളെ ശക്തീകരിക്ക; ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് പൂര്ണ്ണതയുള്ളതായി കണ്ടില്ല.

2. Be awake, and strengthen the things which remaine, that are readie to die: for I haue not found thy workes perfite before God.

3. ആകയാല് നീ പ്രാപിക്കയും കേള്ക്കയും ചെയ്തതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ഔര്ത്തു അതു കാത്തുകൊള്കയും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്ക. നീ ഉണരാതിരുന്നാല് ഞാന് കള്ളനെപ്പോലെ വരും; ഏതു നാഴികെക്കു നിന്റെമേല് വരും എന്നു നീ അറികയും ഇല്ല.

3. Remember therefore, how thou hast receiued and heard, and hold fast and repent. If therefore thou wilt not watch, I will come on thee as a thiefe, and thou shalt not know what houre I wil come vpon thee.

4. എങ്കിലും ഉടുപ്പു മലിനമാകാത്ത കുറേ പേര് സര്ദ്ദിസില് നിനക്കുണ്ടു.

4. Notwithstanding thou hast a few names yet in Sardis, which haue not defiled their garments: and they shall walke with me in white: for they are worthy.

5. അവര് യോഗ്യന്മാരാകയാല് വെള്ളധരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു എന്നോടുകൂടെ നടക്കും. ജയിക്കുന്നവന് വെള്ളയുടുപ്പു ധരിക്കും; അവന്റെ പേര് ഞാന് ജീവപുസ്തകത്തില്നിന്നു മാച്ചുകളയാതെ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിലും അവന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പിലും അവന്റെ പേര് ഏറ്റുപറയും.

5. He that ouercommeth, shalbe clothed in white araye, and I will not put out his name out of the booke of life, but I will confesse his name before my Father, and before his Angels.

7. And write vnto ye Angel of ye Church which is of Philadelphia, These things saith he that is Holy, and True, which hath ye keye of Dauid, which openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth and no man openeth,

8. ഞാന് നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി അറിയുന്നു. ഇതാ ഞാന് നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഒരു വാതില് തുറന്നുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ആര്ക്കും അടെച്ചുകൂടാ. നിനക്കു അല്പമേ ശക്തിയുള്ളു എങ്കിലും നീ എന്റെ വചനം കാത്തു, എന്റെ നാമം നിഷേധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

8. I knowe thy workes: beholde, I haue set before thee an open doore, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a litle strength and hast kept my worde, and hast not denied my Name.

9. യെഹൂദരല്ലാതിരിക്കെ യെഹൂദരെന്നു കളവായി പറയുന്ന ചിലരെ ഞാന് സാത്താന്റെ പള്ളിയില് നിന്നു വരുത്തും; അവര് നിന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വന്നു നമസ്കരിപ്പാനും ഞാന് നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എന്നു അറിവാനും സംഗതി വരുത്തും.

9. Behold, I will make them of the Synagogue of Satan, which call themselues Iewes, and are not, but doe lye: beholde, I say, I will make them, that they shall come and worship before thy feete, and shall knowe that I haue loued thee.

10. സഹിഷ്ണുതയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള എന്റെ വചനം നീ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടതിനാല് ഭൂമിയില് വസിക്കുന്നവരെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഭൂതലത്തില് എങ്ങും വരുവാനുള്ള പരീക്ഷാകാലത്തു ഞാനും നിന്നെ കാക്കും.

10. Because thou hast kept the woorde of my patience, therefore I wil deliuer thee from the houre of tentation, which will come vpon all the world, to trie them that dwell vpon the earth.

11. ഞാന് വേഗം വരുന്നു; നിന്റെ കിരീടം ആരും എടുക്കാതിരിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിനക്കുള്ളതു പിടിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

11. Beholde, I come shortly: holde that which thou hast, that no man take thy crowne.

12. ജയിക്കുന്നവനെ ഞാന് എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തില് ഒരു തൂണാക്കും; അവന് ഒരിക്കലും അവിടെനിന്നു പോകയില്ല; എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമവും എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കല്നിന്നു, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില്നിന്നു തന്നേ, ഇറങ്ങുന്ന പുതിയ യെരൂശലേം എന്ന എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന് നഗരത്തിന്റെ നാമവും എന്റെ പുതിയ നാമവും ഞാന് അവന്റെ മേല് എഴുതും.

12. Him that ouercommeth, will I make a pillar in the Temple of my God, and he shall goe no more out: and I will write vpon him the Name of my God, and the name of the citie of my God, which is the newe Hierusalem, which commeth downe out of heauen from my God, and I will write vpon him my newe Name.

14. And vnto the Angell of the Church of the Laodiceans write, These things saieth Amen, the faithfull and true witnesse, that beginning of the creatures of God.

15. I knowe thy woorkes, that thou art neither colde nor hote: I woulde thou werest colde or hote.

16. ഇങ്ങനെ ശീതവാനുമല്ല ഉഷ്ണവാനുമല്ല, ശിതോഷ്ണവാനാകയാല് നിന്നെ എന്റെ വായില് നിന്നു ഉമിണ്ണുകളയും.

16. Therefore, because thou art luke warme, and neither colde nor hote, it will come to passe, that I shall spewe thee out of my mouth.

17. ഞാന് ധനവാന് ; സമ്പന്നനായിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു ഒന്നിനും മുട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നീ നിര്ഭാഗ്യനും അരിഷ്ടനും ദരിദ്രനും കുരുടനും നഗ്നനും എന്നു അറിയാതിരിക്കയാല്

17. For thou saiest, I am rich and increased with goods, and haue neede of nothing, and knowest not howe thou art wretched and miserable, and poore, and blinde, and naked.

18. നീ സമ്പന്നന് ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു തീയില് ഊതിക്കഴിച്ച പൊന്നും നിന്റെ നഗ്നതയുടെ ലജ്ജ വെളിവാകാതവണ്ണം ധരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെള്ളയുടുപ്പും നിനക്കു കാഴ്ച ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു കണ്ണില് എഴുതുവാന് ലേപവും എന്നോടു വിലെക്കുവാങ്ങുവാന് ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ബുദ്ധിപറയുന്നു.

18. I counsell thee to bye of me gold tried by the fire, that thou maiest bee made rich: and white raiment, that thou maiest be clothed, and that thy filthie nakednesse doe not appeare: and anoynt thine eyes with eye salue, that thou maiest see.

19. എനിക്കു പ്രിയമുള്ളവരെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ശാസിക്കയും ശിക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ആകയാല് നീ ജാഗ്രതയുള്ളവനായിരിക്ക; മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുക.

19. As many as I loue, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and amend.

20. ഞാന് വാതില്ക്കല് നിന്നു മുട്ടുന്നു; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്റെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു വാതില് തുറന്നാല് ഞാന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു അവനോടും അവന് എന്നോടും കൂടെ അത്താഴം കഴിക്കും.

20. Behold, I stand at the doore, and knocke. If any man heare my voice and open ye doore, I wil come in vnto him, and will suppe with him, and he with me.

21. ജയിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരിപ്പാന് വരം നലകും; ഞാനും ജയിച്ചു എന്റെ പിതാവിനോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

21. To him that ouercommeth, will I graunt to sit with me in my throne, euen as I ouercame, and sit with my Father in his throne.

22. ആത്മാവു സഭകളോടു പറയുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു ചെവിയുള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ.
