1. എന്നാല് ബോവസ് പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് ചെന്നു അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു; ബോവസ് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് കടന്നുപോകുന്നതു കണ്ടുഎടോ, ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വന്നു ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് ചെന്നു അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു.

1. Boos wente vp to ye gate, and sat him downe there: & beholde, whan ye nye kynsman wente by, Boos spake vnto him, & sayde: Come & syt the downe here (and called him by his name.) And he came & sat him downe,

2. പിന്നെ അവന് പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരില് പത്തുപേരെ വരുത്തി; ഇവിടെ ഇരിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവരും ഇരുന്നു.

2. & he toke ten men of the Elders of ye cite, & sayde: Syt you downe here. And they sat the downe.

3. അപ്പോള് അവന് ആ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുമോവാബ് ദേശത്തുനിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നൊവൊമി നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരനായ എലീമേലെക്കിന്റെ വയല് വിലക്കുന്നു. ആകയാല് നിന്നോടു അതു അറിയിപ്പാന് ഞാന് വിചാരിച്ചു; ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരുടെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നീ അതു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങുക;

3. The sayde he to the nye kynsman: Naemi which is come againe fro the lode of the Moabites offreth to sell ye pece of londe, yt was oure brothers Eli Melech,

4. നിനക്കു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് വീണ്ടെടുക്ക; വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് നിനക്കു മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടു പറക; നീയും നീ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാനും അല്ലാതെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് ആരും ഇല്ല.

4. therfore thoughte I to shewe it before thine eares, & to tell the: Yf thou wilt redeme it, then bye it before the citesyns & before the Elders of my people: but yf thou wylt not redeme it, then tell me, yt I maie knowe: for there is no nye kynsma excepte thou, and I nexte after the. He sayde: I wil redeme it.

5. അതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് വീണ്ടെടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് ബോവസ്നീ നൊവൊമിയോടു വയല് വാങ്ങുന്ന നാളില് മരിച്ചവന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്മേല് അവന്റെ പേര് നിലനിര്ത്തുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം മരിച്ചവന്റെ ഭാര്യ മോവാബ്യ സ്ത്രീയായ രൂത്തിനെയും വാങ്ങേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. Boos saide: In the daye yt thou byest the lode out of ye hande of Naemi, thou must take Ruth also the Moabitisse the wife of the deed, that thou mayest rayse vp a name to ye deed in his inheritaunce.

6. അതിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് എനിക്കു അതു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല; എന്റെ സ്വന്ത അവകാശം നഷ്ടമാക്കേണ്ടിവരും; ആകയാല് ഞാന് വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണ്ടതു നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്തുകൊള്ക; എനിക്കു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6. The sayde he: I can not redeme it, lest I happlye destroye myne awne enheritaunce. Redeme thou yt I shulde redeme, for I can not redeme it.

7. എന്നാല് വീണ്ടെടുപ്പും കൈമാറ്റവും സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള കാര്യം ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാന് ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൂരി മറ്റേവന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നതു യിസ്രായേലില് പണ്ടു നടപ്പായിരുന്നു; ഇതായിരുന്നു യിസ്രായേലില് ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്ന വിധം.

7. But this was an olde custome in Israel concernynge the redemynge & chauginge, yt all matters mighte be stable, the one put of his shue, & gaue it vnto ye other: yt was the testimony in Israel.

8. അങ്ങനെ ആ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരന് ബോവസിനോടുനീ അതു വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൂരിക്കൊടുത്തു.

8. And the nye kynsman sayde vnto Boos: Bye thou it, & he put of his shue.

9. അപ്പോള് ബോവസ് മൂപ്പന്മാരോടും സകല ജനത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതുഎലീമേലെക്കിന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കില്യോന്നും മഹ്ളോന്നും ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നൊവൊമിയോടു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

9. And Boos sayde vnto the Elders and to all the people: Ye are witnesses this daie, yt I haue boughte out of the hande of Naemi, all that belonged to Eli Melech, and all that was Chilions and Mahelons:

10. അത്രയുമല്ല മരിച്ചവന്റെ പേര് അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നും അവന്റെ പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല്നിന്നും മാഞ്ഞുപോകാതവണ്ണം മരിച്ചവന്റെ പേര് അവന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്മേല് നിലനിര്ത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു മഹ്ളോന്റെ ഭാര്യ മോവാബ്യസ്ത്രീയായ രൂത്തിനെയും എനിക്കു ഭാര്യയായി വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നതിന്നും നിങ്ങള് ഇന്നു സാക്ഷികള് ആകുന്നു.

10. And Ruth the Moabitisse Mahelons wife, take I to wife, that I maye rayse vp a name vnto ye deed in his inheritaunce, and that his name be not roted out from amonge his brethren, and out of the gate of his place: Of this are ye witnesses.

11. അതിന്നു പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് ഇരുന്ന സകലജനവും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പറഞ്ഞതുഞങ്ങള് സാക്ഷികള് തന്നേ; നിന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ യഹോവ റാഹേലിനെപ്പോലെയും ലേയയെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കട്ടെ; അവര് ഇരുവരുമല്ലോ യിസ്രായേല്ഗൃഹം പണിതതു; എഫ്രാത്തയില് നീ പ്രബലനും ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമില് വിശ്രുതനുമായിരിക്ക.

11. And all the people that was in the gate with the Elders, saide: We are witnesses. The LORDE make the woman that commeth in to thy house, as Rachel and Lea ( which both haue buylded vp the house of Israel) that she maye be an ensample of vertue in Ephrata, and haue an honorable name in Bethleem.

12. ഈ യുവതിയില്നിന്നു യഹോവ നിനക്കു നലകുന്ന സന്തതിയാല് നിന്റെ ഗൃഹം താമാര് യെഹൂദെക്കു പ്രസവിച്ച ഫേരെസിന്റെ ഗൃഹം പോലെ ആയ്തീരട്ടെ.

12. And thy house be as ye house of Phares ( who Thamar bare vnto Iuda) thorow the sede, that the LORDE shall geue the of this damsell.

13. ഇങ്ങനെ ബോവസ് രൂത്തിനെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവള് അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി; അവന് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നപ്പോള് യഹോവ അവള്ക്കു ഗര്ഭംനല്കി; അവള് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

13. So Boos toke Ruth, and she became his wife. And whan he laye with her, the LORDE graunted her yt she conceaued, and bare a sonne.

14. എന്നാറെ സ്ത്രീകള് നൊവൊമിയോടുഇന്നു നിനക്കു ഒരു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനെ നല്കിയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന്റെ പേര് യിസ്രായേലില് വിശ്രുതമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

14. The sayde the wemen vnto Naemi: Praysed be the LORDE, which hath not suffred a kynsman to ceasse from the at this tyme, that his name maye contynue in Israel:

15. അവന് നിനക്കു ആശ്വാസപ്രദനും നിന്റെ വാര്ദ്ധക്യത്തിങ്കല് പോഷകനും ആയിരിക്കും. നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവളും ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരെക്കാള് നിനക്കു ഉത്തമയുമായിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ മരുമകളല്ലോ അവനെ പ്രസവിച്ചതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. he shal restore thy life agayne, and prouyde for thine age. For yi sonnes wife which hath loued the, hath borne him that is better vnto the, then seuen sonnes.

16. നൊവൊമി കുഞ്ഞിനെ എടുത്തു മടിയില് കിടത്തി അവന്നു ധാത്രിയായ്തീര്ന്നു.

16. And Naemi toke the childe, and layde it vpon hir lappe, and became the norse of it,

17. അവളുടെ അയല്ക്കാരത്തികള്നൊവൊമിക്കു ഒരു മകന് ജനിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഔബേദ് എന്നു പേര് വിളിച്ചു; ദാവീദിന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അപ്പന് ഇവന് തന്നേ.

17. and hir neghbours gaue him a name & sayde: There is a childe borne vnto Naemi, and they called his name Obed. The same is the father of Isai, which is ye father of Dauid.

18. ഫേരെസിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതുഫേരെസ് ഹെസ്രോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഹെസ്രോന് രാമിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

18. This is ye generacion of Phares. Phares begat Hesrom.

19. രാം അമ്മീനാദാബിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

19. Hesrom begat Aram. Aram begat Aminadab.

20. അമ്മീനാദാബ് നഹശോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; നഹശോന് സല്മോനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

20. Aminadab begatt Naasson. Naasson begat Salmon.

21. സല്മോന് ബോവസിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ബോവസ് ഔബേദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

21. Salmo begat Boos. Boos begat Obed.

22. ഔബേദ് യിശ്ശായിയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; യിശ്ശായി ദാവീദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.
