1. മനശ്ശെ വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് അമ്പത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു ഹെഫ്സീബ എന്നു പേര്.

1. Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king. He ruled for fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah.

2. എന്നാല് യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള്ക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

2. In GOD's judgment he was a bad king--an evil king. He reintroduced all the moral rot and spiritual corruption that had been scoured from the country when GOD dispossessed the pagan nations in favor of the children of Israel.

3. തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ഹിസ്കീയാവു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന പൂജാഗിരികളെ അവന് വീണ്ടും പണിതു; ബാലിന്നു ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാക്കി; യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ആഹാബ് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ ഒരു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിച്ചു.

3. He rebuilt all the sex-and-religion shrines that his father Hezekiah had torn down, and he built altars and phallic images for the sex god Baal and sex goddess Asherah, exactly what Ahaz king of Israel had done. He worshiped the cosmic powers, taking orders from the constellations.

4. യെരൂശലേമില് ഞാന് എന്റെ നാം സ്ഥാപിക്കുമെന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും അവന് ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് പണിതു.

4. He even built these pagan altars in The Temple of GOD, the very Jerusalem Temple dedicated exclusively by GOD's decree ('in Jerusalem I place my Name') to GOD's Name.

5. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടു പ്രാകാരങ്ങളിലും അവന് ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് പണിതു;

5. And he built shrines to the cosmic powers and placed them in both courtyards of The Temple of GOD.

6. അവന് തന്റെ മകനെ അഗ്നി പ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കയും മുഹൂര്ത്തം നോക്കുകയും ആഭിചാരം പ്രയോഗിക്കയും വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന്മാരെയും ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവരെയും നിയമിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു പലതും ചെയ്തു.

6. He burned his own son in a sacrificial offering. He practiced black magic and fortunetelling. He held s�ances and consulted spirits from the underworld. Much evil--in GOD's judgment, a career in evil. And GOD was angry.

7. ഈ ആലയത്തിലും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില് നിന്നും ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേമിലും ഞാന് എന്റെ നാമം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥാപിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ ദാവീദിനോടും അവന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ആലയത്തില് താന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠ അവന് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

7. As a last straw he placed the carved image of the sex goddess Asherah in The Temple of GOD, a flagrant and provocative violation of GOD's well-known statement to both David and Solomon, 'In this Temple and in this city Jerusalem, my choice out of all the tribes of Israel, I place my Name--exclusively and forever.

8. ഞാന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ച സകല ന്യായപ്രമാണവും അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കമാത്രം ചെയ്താല് ഇനി യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കാല്, അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും ഞാന് കൊടുത്ത ദേശം വിട്ടലയുവാന് ഇടവരുത്തുകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

8. Never again will I let my people Israel wander off from this land I gave to their ancestors. But here's the condition: They must keep everything I've commanded in the instructions my servant Moses passed on to them.'

9. എന്നാല് അവര് കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ച ജാതികളെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്വാന് മനശ്ശെ അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

9. But the people didn't listen. Manasseh led them off the beaten path into practices of evil even exceeding the evil of the pagan nations that GOD had earlier destroyed.

10. ആകയാല് യഹോവ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാര് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്

10. GOD, thoroughly fed up, sent word through his servants the prophets:

11. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ മനശ്ശെ തനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യര് ചെയ്ത സകലത്തെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷമായി ഈ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും തന്റെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദയെയും പാപം ചെയ്യിക്കയാലും

11. 'Because Manasseh king of Judah has committed these outrageous sins, eclipsing the sin-performance of the Amorites before him, setting new records in evil, using foul idols to debase Judah into a nation of sinners,

12. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുകേള്ക്കുന്ന ഏവന്റെയും ചെവി രണ്ടും മുഴങ്ങത്തക്കവണ്ണമുള്ള അനര്ത്ഥം ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും വരുത്തും.

12. this is my judgment, GOD's verdict: I, the God of Israel, will visit catastrophe on Jerusalem and Judah, a doom so terrible that when people hear of it they'll shake their heads in disbelief, saying, 'I can't believe it!'

13. ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിന്മേല് ശമര്യ്യയുടെ അളവുനൂലും ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ തൂക്കുകട്ടയും പിടിക്കും; ഒരുത്തന് ഒരു തളിക തുടെക്കയും തുടെച്ചശേഷം അതു കവിഴ്ത്തിവെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിനെ തുടെച്ചുകളയും.

13. 'I'll visit the fate of Samaria on Jerusalem, a rerun of Ahab's doom. I'll wipe out Jerusalem as you would wipe out a dish, wiping it out and turning it over to dry.

14. എന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പു ഞാന് ത്യജിച്ചു അവരെ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സകലശത്രുക്കള്ക്കും കവര്ച്ചയും കൊള്ളയും ആയ്തീരും.

14. I'll get rid of what's left of my inheritance, dumping them on their enemies. If their enemies can salvage anything from them, they're welcome to it.

15. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട നാള്മുതല് ഇന്നുവരെ അവര് എനിക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.

15. They've been nothing but trouble to me from the day their ancestors left Egypt until now. They pushed me to my limit; I won't put up with their evil any longer.'

16. അത്രയുമല്ല, യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു മനശ്ശെ യെഹൂദയെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപം കൂടാതെ അവന് യെരൂശലേമില് ഒരറ്റംമുതല് മറ്റേഅറ്റംവരെ നിറെപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തവും ഏറ്റവും വളരെ ചിന്നിച്ചു.

16. The final word on Manasseh was that he was an indiscriminate murderer. He drenched Jerusalem with the innocent blood of his victims. That's on top of all the sins in which he involved his people. As far as GOD was concerned, he'd turned them into a nation of sinners.

17. മനശ്ശെയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ പാപവും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

17. The rest of the life and times of Manasseh, everything he did and his sorry record of sin, is written in The Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

18. മനശ്ശെ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അരമനയുടെ തോട്ടത്തില്, ഉസ്സയുടെ തോട്ടത്തില് തന്നേ, അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആമോന് അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായി.

18. Manasseh died and joined his ancestors. He was buried in the palace garden, the Garden of Uzza. His son Amon became the next king.

19. ആമോന് വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു. അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മെശൂല്ലേമെത്ത് എന്നു പേര്; അവള് യൊത്ബക്കാരനായ ഹാരൂസിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

19. Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king. He was king for two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz. She was from Jotbah.

20. അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ മനശ്ശെ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു;

20. In GOD's opinion he lived an evil life, just like his father Manasseh.

21. തന്റെ അപ്പന് നടന്ന വഴിയിലൊക്കെയും നടന്നു; തന്റെ അപ്പന് സേവിച്ച വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

21. He followed in the footsteps of his father, serving and worshiping the same foul gods his father had served.

22. അങ്ങനെ അവന് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയില് നടന്നതുമില്ല.

22. He totally deserted the GOD of his ancestors; he did not live GOD's way.

23. എന്നാല് ആമോന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാര് അവന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി രാജാവിനെ അരമനയില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു;

23. Amon's servants revolted and assassinated him, killing the king right in his own palace.

24. എന്നാല് ദേശത്തെ ജനം ആമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയവരെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നു; ദേശത്തെ ജനം അവന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവെ അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവാക്കി.

24. But the people, in their turn, killed the conspirators against King Amon and then crowned Josiah, Amon's son, as king

25. ആമോന് ചെയ്ത മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങള് യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

26. ഉസ്സയുടെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ അവന്റെ കല്ലറയില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു. അവന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവു അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായി.

26. They buried Amon in his burial plot in the Garden of Uzza. His son Josiah became the next king.
