1. മനശ്ശെ വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു പന്ത്രണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് അമ്പത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു ഹെഫ്സീബ എന്നു പേര്.

1. Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king of Judah, and he ruled in Jerusalem for fifty-five years. His mother was Hephzibah.

2. എന്നാല് യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ ജാതികളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള്ക്കൊത്തവണ്ണം അവന് യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

2. Following the disgusting practices of the nations whom the LORD had driven out of the land as his people advanced, Manasseh sinned against the LORD.

3. തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ഹിസ്കീയാവു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന പൂജാഗിരികളെ അവന് വീണ്ടും പണിതു; ബാലിന്നു ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാക്കി; യിസ്രായേല്രാജാവായ ആഹാബ് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ ഒരു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിച്ചു.

3. He rebuilt the pagan places of worship that his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he built altars for the worship of Baal and made an image of the goddess Asherah, as King Ahab of Israel had done. Manasseh also worshiped the stars.

4. യെരൂശലേമില് ഞാന് എന്റെ നാം സ്ഥാപിക്കുമെന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലും അവന് ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് പണിതു.

4. He built pagan altars in the Temple, the place that the LORD had said was where he should be worshiped.

5. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടു പ്രാകാരങ്ങളിലും അവന് ആകാശത്തിലെ സര്വ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും ബലിപീഠങ്ങള് പണിതു;

5. In the two courtyards of the Temple he built altars for the worship of the stars.

6. അവന് തന്റെ മകനെ അഗ്നി പ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിക്കയും മുഹൂര്ത്തം നോക്കുകയും ആഭിചാരം പ്രയോഗിക്കയും വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന്മാരെയും ലക്ഷണം പറയുന്നവരെയും നിയമിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു പലതും ചെയ്തു.

6. He sacrificed his son as a burnt offering. He practiced divination and magic and consulted fortunetellers and mediums. He sinned greatly against the LORD and stirred up his anger.

7. ഈ ആലയത്തിലും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില് നിന്നും ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേമിലും ഞാന് എന്റെ നാമം എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥാപിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ ദാവീദിനോടും അവന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ആലയത്തില് താന് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠ അവന് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

7. He placed the symbol of the goddess Asherah in the Temple, the place about which the LORD had said to David and his son Solomon: 'Here in Jerusalem, in this Temple, is the place that I have chosen out of all the territory of the twelve tribes of Israel as the place where I am to be worshiped.

8. ഞാന് അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ച സകല ന്യായപ്രമാണവും അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കമാത്രം ചെയ്താല് ഇനി യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കാല്, അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും ഞാന് കൊടുത്ത ദേശം വിട്ടലയുവാന് ഇടവരുത്തുകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

8. And if the people of Israel will obey all my commands and keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them, then I will not allow them to be driven out of the land that I gave to their ancestors.'

9. എന്നാല് അവര് കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചില്ല; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ച ജാതികളെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്വാന് മനശ്ശെ അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

9. But the people of Judah did not obey the LORD, and Manasseh led them to commit even greater sins than those committed by the nations whom the LORD had driven out of the land as his people advanced.

10. ആകയാല് യഹോവ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാര് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്

10. Through his servants the prophets the LORD said,

11. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ മനശ്ശെ തനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന അമോര്യ്യര് ചെയ്ത സകലത്തെക്കാളും അധികം ദോഷമായി ഈ മ്ളേച്ഛതകള് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും തന്റെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദയെയും പാപം ചെയ്യിക്കയാലും

11. 'King Manasseh has done these disgusting things, things far worse than what the Canaanites did; and with his idols he has led the people of Judah into sin.

12. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുകേള്ക്കുന്ന ഏവന്റെയും ചെവി രണ്ടും മുഴങ്ങത്തക്കവണ്ണമുള്ള അനര്ത്ഥം ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും വരുത്തും.

12. So I, the LORD God of Israel, will bring such a disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that everyone who hears about it will be stunned.

13. ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിന്മേല് ശമര്യ്യയുടെ അളവുനൂലും ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ തൂക്കുകട്ടയും പിടിക്കും; ഒരുത്തന് ഒരു തളിക തുടെക്കയും തുടെച്ചശേഷം അതു കവിഴ്ത്തിവെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമിനെ തുടെച്ചുകളയും.

13. I will punish Jerusalem as I did Samaria, as I did King Ahab of Israel and his descendants. I will wipe Jerusalem clean of its people, as clean as a plate that has been wiped and turned upside down.

14. എന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പു ഞാന് ത്യജിച്ചു അവരെ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സകലശത്രുക്കള്ക്കും കവര്ച്ചയും കൊള്ളയും ആയ്തീരും.

14. I will abandon the people who survive, and will hand them over to their enemies, who will conquer them and plunder their land.

15. അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട നാള്മുതല് ഇന്നുവരെ അവര് എനിക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.

15. I will do this to my people because they have sinned against me and have stirred up my anger from the time their ancestors came out of Egypt to this day.'

16. അത്രയുമല്ല, യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു മനശ്ശെ യെഹൂദയെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപം കൂടാതെ അവന് യെരൂശലേമില് ഒരറ്റംമുതല് മറ്റേഅറ്റംവരെ നിറെപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തവും ഏറ്റവും വളരെ ചിന്നിച്ചു.

16. Manasseh killed so many innocent people that the streets of Jerusalem were flowing with blood; he did this in addition to leading the people of Judah into idolatry, causing them to sin against the LORD.

17. മനശ്ശെയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന് ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ പാപവും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

17. Everything else that Manasseh did, including the sins he committed, is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah.

18. മനശ്ശെ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അരമനയുടെ തോട്ടത്തില്, ഉസ്സയുടെ തോട്ടത്തില് തന്നേ, അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആമോന് അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായി.

18. Manasseh died and was buried in the palace garden, the garden of Uzza, and his son Amon succeeded him as king.

19. ആമോന് വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള് അവന്നു ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവന് രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമില് വാണു. അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മെശൂല്ലേമെത്ത് എന്നു പേര്; അവള് യൊത്ബക്കാരനായ ഹാരൂസിന്റെ മകള് ആയിരുന്നു.

19. Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king of Judah, and he ruled in Jerusalem for two years. His mother was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz from the town of Jotbah.

20. അവന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ മനശ്ശെ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യഹോവേക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു;

20. Like his father Manasseh, he sinned against the LORD;

21. തന്റെ അപ്പന് നടന്ന വഴിയിലൊക്കെയും നടന്നു; തന്റെ അപ്പന് സേവിച്ച വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

21. he imitated his father's actions, and he worshiped the idols that his father had worshiped.

22. അങ്ങനെ അവന് തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയില് നടന്നതുമില്ല.

22. He rejected the LORD, the God of his ancestors, and disobeyed the LORD's commands.

23. എന്നാല് ആമോന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാര് അവന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി രാജാവിനെ അരമനയില്വെച്ചു കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു;

23. Amon's officials plotted against him and assassinated him in the palace.

24. എന്നാല് ദേശത്തെ ജനം ആമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയവരെ ഒക്കെയും കൊന്നു; ദേശത്തെ ജനം അവന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവെ അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവാക്കി.

24. The people of Judah killed Amon's assassins and made his son Josiah king.

25. ആമോന് ചെയ്ത മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങള് യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

25. Everything else that Amon did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah.

26. ഉസ്സയുടെ തോട്ടത്തിലെ അവന്റെ കല്ലറയില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു. അവന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവു അവന്നുപകരം രാജാവായി.

26. Amon was buried in the tomb in the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah succeeded him as king.
